It's ok. They have more posters... i think. quality over quantity, though, right?

I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Eteri heard what the press was reporting... i wonder what her face would have looked like...
-
Since both will probably make their national teams next year and both were on the world podium, yes, they are rivals (at least this upcoming year). And yes, I think that ice show was probably where a lot of things were discussed... and where they may have decided that things would work.

I cannot see Brian accepting Med without some sort of approval from Gabby, no matter that she's mainly trained by Lee. It's the same rink and, quite possibly, the same ice time ( as Javi and Gabby often skated together... as did Yuzu and Gabby). Brian would not want disharmony at his workplace and would think about impact on his current skaters, so he'd consider carefully with Tracy (if no one else) about this choice. I don't think (IF true), they agreed to take her because she's a 2x World Champ, they have more prestige than that already... but because they've decided it would be a good thing. Her consistency is certainly something that Gabby and Elizabet could benefit from being motivated by daily...

I think whenever you talk about a top level figure skater moving (and leaving a top coach at that), you have to add BOrser in there as a possibility...
-
Me too. One of the many reasons is that she just doesn't seem their type of *diamond* that needs polishing. I thought Wakaba was a far more likely prospect because *as a figure skater* she needs what they are good at doing. Med has polish. Not my kind of polish, but it's polish. Maybe Tracy can do something with that jerkiness... don't know. So, IF this news is true, then the question of choreographer naturally rears its head....
-
Yes. She's been everywhere lately...on a gazillion shows, tv, magazines... and now dropping this, in this manner... it is well done.
-
You are right. It's just everyone else seems to be talking about it so I just joined in with the fun. Of course we have no idea if it's true or not and it will be interesting to find out if true.

Now it makes sense why she is doing just the 2 stops in Japan when she could probably have done all of them... she needed time to figure out where/what/how she would be living etc... I wonder if Javi will be moved out of his apartment by that time...lol!!! Apartment for rent... TCC skater required...
-
I wonder what brian is doing at this exact moment... LOL. If he wanted a quiet summer... it ain't happening!!
-
I agree that she had to do something for her future...and she had to go to someone with clout/success/ experience and with a supportive team.... and she had to do it now... but I won't deny that I think him being there certainly makes it an easier destination to choose.
-
She did need to do something and it had to happen now. She needs to grow and that won't happen if she stays where she is... and being eclipsed daily at home by younger skaters better than you are is also a bit hard to take. She is no longer tops in the yard at home. Changing her style ( with new choreographers too) and distancing herself from the pack at home is smart and had to be done now to salvage her future. I applaud her for understanding her situation and taking control of it. Oh no. Not Orser...

No surprise about Med. I saw this coming for many reasons. Please no TCC for her... just, no. Wonder where she will land.... other than on her feet...
-
Maybe a move was discussed but winning the silver at world's changed things for Wakaba. Maybe they decided it was now not necessary to make a full time drastic move.

He physically kicked him? But, I thought javi was already at TCC when he was with Miki. Was this earlier when he was training with him? I guess the timing does not matter actually, it is still awful what he went through. So happy things turned out how they did in the end. Poor Javi...but he ended up better off and success is always the best way to deal with things ( I dont want to say revenge).
-
Thanks. I knew he wanted it put up but didnt see any posts saying it was up. So, it is up! Things move quickly here.
-
Hmm, so does this mean the new plaque has been put up? I wonder when they did it and if Yuzu has seen it in person yet!!

Happy Birthday to the Planet. Thanks to the admins/mods/others who started it last year and invited us lost satellites to join in those first few hours of existence... and making it a welcoming home for other lost satellites over the past year who have made it what it is today. It's one of the first sites I visit when I wake up every day because it starts my day off in the right direction. Thanks to all!!

very true. Like Kurt said during the Olympics... he blew his nose, the audience screamed.
-
He could just go out and belly dance something off the cuff and the audience would love it. No choreographer required.
-
There have been many good male ice dancers, and some pairs skaters, that are 5'8", or shorter. Just saying.
-
Lol. He is doing the first 2 stops? Those were the 2 I thought he might skip... I thought he would do the later ones since his rehab would be over when they start Oh well, he knows best. I was confident he would be going, just not the first 2 stops. I was hoping not the first 2 stops. ok.
-
I can't remember when I last rode a bike... but I know I still can... I think I can still skip double dutch too.... oh geez, things I will have to try this summer, lol!! Last year I proved I can still throw a 3 pointer and do a lay up ( basketball), so this summer I have new things to prove I can still do!! I wonder exactly when and "how" he learned he cannot ride a bike anymore?? Was this a painful incident ?

His hurdle technique isn't so bad...
