Happy 1000 days anniversary, Yuzu. It was such a fantastic victory, a very well-deserved gold medal for him and somehow really symbolic that he won the 1000th gold medal in the history of the Winter Olympic Games. Congratulations again!

Mai won the free skate Apart from a popped Axel she did really well and landed all her jumps. Congratulations. ♥️

Team we're fewer but still good!
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
The story is until PyeongChang 2018, the fountain of youth until then was the motivation to get that Olympic gold From then on, probably her love of skating? -
There are still 3 days until November

Aljona Savchenko's book will be published in Russian too. I read the book in German and it's very good. https://www.instagram.com/p/CG5DmE9JPdE/ -
It comes from an unreliable source and nothing confirms it, I am sure it's not true. It'd be all over the internet already if it really happened Nathan himself said a few days ago that the triple Axel is his nemesis and it's a long way to go before he even attempts a quad.

Excellent debut from him. Happy 10 years at senior competitions, Yuzu!

Yay, I'm excited what his new SP will be, I can't wait to see it!

Times flies. I was happy to be there too. He landed the 4Lz in front of me because I was sitting on the short side close to the ice. A Japanese lady took my hand to hold it right before the free skate so that we could cheer for Yuzu stronger. It is really a nice memory.

Many of his movements are definitely inspired from Yuzu. He probably watches tons of videos of him 😄 My friend had an extra Pooh so she threw it to Marko after the free skate. It was a nice gesture.

The triple Axel is a beauty!

(I should post it in the small fed skaters thread because Aljona is not yet retired officially...but:) Olympic Channel has recently uploaded a video with all her programs from the five Olympic Games she went to. It's a long video but it is worth watching. I recently watched many videos of her because I read her autobiography not so long ago and while I was reading about her career I watched her old programs. She also had very good non-Olympic programs as well like L'Oiseau (this was her favourite program), Schindler's List, Out of Africa, The Mission or her programs with Bruno pre-2017/18. Pink Panther was famous though it is not amongst my favourites of hers. La terre vue du ciel at the Olympics (but also at Worlds) was perfection.

Good news about Sara, wish her a speedy recovery. (I moved your post to the Team Spain thread )

I don't know what she thinks of raising the age limit but if someone has every right to speak out about these young skaters then it's Oksana considering what happened to her. I thought it was just a bit excessive that she posted or commented only about Valieva (haven't read anything from her before about other skaters, Trusova, Shcherbakova, Liu or others, maybe she'll do it in the future). Some of the replies to her in the comments were really rude though so I think it's fine she doesn't keep her opinion to herself and speaks out.

General Skating Chat

I wouldn't call it GP Series, it's more like nationals with some other skaters who train in the country or are close to the country...Sigh...Yuzu made a very wise and mature decision when he dediced to skip the GP Series and stay out of this whole mess. It's possible Junhwan and Katia Kurakova got an assignment based on where they usually train but they could withdraw if they can't go back (and chances of it looks really slim now). Katia could go to IdF if she stays in Poland though. The fields are so uneven, Chinese or Canadian look so easy (or empty in CoC's case) while the Russian field is a bloodbath (not just in Ladies, Men also in comparison to Canada). I am sad Ksenia Sinitsyna won't be there at CoR but she looked so frail in the lastest photos I've seen of her...so it's not really a surprise I am sad we won't see the Korean ladies either, if Young is back to USA then she could've gone to SA for example. Part of me wishes some of them could have the chance to go to China but the likeliness of it is really practically zero. Yay for Kao at NHK and I wonder who the TBA spot in the ladies will be at NHK. As for Rika, she's not planning to go back to Japan? I am curious what's going on with her and Hamada, who is still her coach at least officially. I just really hope GPF will be cancelled altogether. IEverything will be uncertain and I'm not sure how could they organize it later (for example in January) if they still plan to do it in China. And if they make the decision after NHK it'll be even more unfair considering they'll have the results already.- 6,825 replies

Tbh I am a bit surprised Budapest Trophy takes place. Two competitions in early October (one figure skating and one short track) got cancelled by the federation, and there are also positive cases in the short track team (they train on the same rink as some figure skaters). The numbers are also growing each day in the country.- 6,825 replies

Oh ok. I saw some pictures that she was also at Khrustalny on Sunday.
-
I wouldn't think too much into it. Was it on Sunday? It is possible Zhenya was one of the few skaters training on that day and they just asked her to raise the flag while she was there. Judging from her training outfit it didn't look like a special event.

Happy birthday to Tracy, I hope she has a nice birthday 🎂🎉 Also happy birthday to Mao! Time flies, now Yuna and Mao are both in their 30s! 😲 I remember when they were only 16-17 year olds...
