  1. Yuzu talks in ISU's newest podcast from 21 min 55 secs: https://isu.org/media-centre/libraries/podcast His English is good This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  2. Thank you for the translation @SuzyQ Yuzu did very well at this competition considering all the circumstances, and it must have been hard to go there and compete in the first place. When he says he's improved in the past seasons, I see what he means, even all the problems he faced during (& before) the free skate he didn't even made major mistakes like popping a jump and falling, he's become really stronger in that sense and his stamina is also great.
  3. I'm very happy for all the small fed skaters who worked hard to to get a spot for the Olympics and who'll most likely compete in Beijing. Yay for Donovan especially! Big success for Mark & Ioulia in pairs as well, it was their no1 dream to qualify for Olympics. At the same time it makes me sad China will only have 1 spot in the men's, so won't see Han Yan in Beijing. Heartbreak
  4. Yeah because they publish in in form of communication which aren't listed where the other documents about rules are, it takes time to find them...
  5. The technical panel handbook? It's there: https://isu.org/figure-skating/rules/sandp-handbooks-faq/24781-tphb-single-skating-2020-21-final/file
  6. They could but Yuzu brings the most money for them. Canadaian fed said already before Worlds that they would select skaters who will not compete at Worlds, since it's impossible to fly back to Canada, quarantine there and go to Japan.
  7. I don't think he had much choice... https://isu.org/docman-documents-links/isu-files/event-documents/figure-skating-4/2020-21/championships-32/announcements-96/25595-world-team-trophy-osaka-2021-announcement/file Rule 136 paragraph 6: They skate both SP and FS
  8. They want to make money with WTT, sigh. I hope Yuzu stays healthy in the next weeks.
  9. Please post anything related to the World Championships in the competition thread:
  10. I meant the February earthquake was an afteshock of 3.11 too so maybe this one was an aftershock of it as well given both of them was over 7.0 magnitude. Please post anything Worlds related news in the Worlds fluff thread and tag [NEWS] only if it is related to Yuzu. Thanks
  11. I wonder if it is another aftershock of 3.11...I'm praying for everyone's safety in Miyagi.
  12. Sondre has retired from competitive skating https://www.instagram.com/p/CMmZerapcMG/

  14. Shingo Nishiyama and Ayumi Takanami is a new ice dance team. Ayumi won the 2019 junior national championships with her former partner Ikeda. They are aiming for Milan 2026..
  15. Beautiful and touching message even through google translate I hope it'll be translated soon...
  16. I think Alena is in a very difficult situation either way. She didn't do that bad at the Cup Final considering she's recovering from illness(es), and that she hasn't been able to compete for....3 months? Which is a lot. She is very harsh on herself in that interview. But she said she couldn't fully motivate herself while she was training with AoP and she thought if Eteri was there she'd do everything that is required from her. Only she knows how unmotivated she felt there. I think Plushenko tried to help her in some ways but he probably gave too much freedom to Rozanov who, like Plushy, isn't a very experienced coach. Some skaters need more push and Alena may be one of them. Trusova on the other hand seems to be a different character, someone who is able to motivate herself more. For Alena, it was too late to switch to any other coaches because next year is Olympics. On paper she belongs to Sambo70 this season and because she was already familiar with the requirements, the environment, the only obvious choice seemed be to go back to Khrustalny. I don't know if she will succeed with them again, the race for the Olympic spots will be huge and there's a chance her body won't hold up. With Plushenko maybe she would have been too unmotivated for next season, with Eteri her body may break even before the season starts. It's really difficult for her. I can only wish her good health and hope for the best, she's still my amongst my favourite ladies skaters, no matter what happens to her.
  17. It seems the official announcement will come soon that she is returning to Eteri. I feel sad for Alena, this season has really been too unkind to her 😔
