  1. A Russian show will be broadcasted live on Youtube today (it begins in 6 hours) - participants will be Javi Fernandez, Medvedeva, Zagitova, Sinitsina/Katsalapov, Zhuk/Bidar, Artur Danielyan etc
  2. Asian Open entries are up and Yuzu is not on the entry list. So it seems NHK Trophy will be his first competition in the season... https://results.isu.org/events/cschn2021_Men.htm
  3. Asian Open Trophy entries are up: https://results.isu.org/events/fsevent00110972.htm Yuma, Shun, Boyang, Junhwan in the men, Kaori, Rika, Eunsoo, Seoyeong in the women, Sui/Han, Peng/Jin in the pairs, and only 4 entries in ID amongst them are Team KoKo
  4. Elizabet Tursynbaeva has announced her retirement from competitive skating. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUDUOvao0F1/ Translation of her message:
  5. I really don't think it's a good idea in the Olympic season if it is not completely ready for competition If she goes clean in both of her programs without 3A she'd get a good score but if she will go for 3A which will be called by the TP and/or she falls from it often she'll lose a lot with it.
  6. Makar really runs out of stream, even though potentially he can have one of the highest BV. I forgot that he did only 1 combo because all the landings on his quads were messy (except the 4Lo). Mark looks in better shape and he backloaded quite a lot of difficult jumps in the second half. He also did two quad Salchows. Semenenko looks consistent and he already has experience of competing at Worlds, where he also did well. I hope Gumennik hasn't injured himself yesterday because those falls looked bad. When he is on, his skating is good. And I don't know about Samsonov, if he'll be able to be back in great form. He only did one competition last season, Russian junior Nationals where he finished 7th...
  7. China has cancelled Four Continents 2022 https://isu.org/figure-skating/news/news-fsk/13668-isu-four-continents-figure-skating-championships-2022-tianjin-china-cancellation-relocation?templateParam=15
  8. My bet was more on Ignatov because of his international experience in seniors, strong tech content if he delivers + his experience at Nebelhorn where he already won a gold) or Samarin (Europeans silver medalist, international experience), but Kondratyuk is not a bad choice eithe though he doesn't have much experience in senior competitions so far, but hopefully it won't affect him too much
  9. I think not because with only JPN skaters it will be basically a domestic competition.
  10. It's a (very commercialised) competition, not a test skate. They invite only Japanese skaters this time because of the pandemics, but usually there are some foreign competitors as well. There are two teams and individual results are counted in team's result. Skaters usually skate one program (the free skate). It's organised by JSF together with IMG the management company and sponsored by Kinoshita.
  11. Same for me, it made me dislike his voice, the voice that I otherwise adore. The program was made only a week ago but I'm not sure it'll be the right choice for the Olympics.
  12. That is my guess too. On the other hand Usacheva said she can't say anything about participating in the US (meaning she doesn't have a visa yet?) Kolyada sounds angry about the questions about his new SP. Apparently he has no idea what the program is about:
  13. Trusova said she has visa for US Classic and she is leaving on the 14th September: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1101100305-trusova-ob-uchastii-v-turnirax-v-ssha-u-menya-est-viza-dazhe-v-boston-.html Sinitsyna has her visa for Skate America: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1101096449-kseniya-siniczyna-zavtra-v-proizvolnoj-programme-ya-budu-probovat-chet.html
  14. I opened a thread for Russian test skates, here's the link:
  15. Japan Open entries are out Kaori, Satoko, Rino, Mai, Mana Shoma, Keiji, Shun, Kazuki ETA:

This is the seventh and last Junior Grand Prix event in the JGP Series in the 2021-2022 Season. The discussion thread can be found here.
  17. Yes, @Anni posted it here: We can have a thread for it if there is enough interest.
  18. I think they were in Canada a couple of months ago, there was an interview with Cizeron on one of the Canadian sites and then in July they posted about a photoshoot where the location was tagged Montreal (& the photographer is also from Montreal): https://www.instagram.com/papadakiscizeron_official/?hl=hu. So unless something changed then they're probably still in Canada imo. This is why I think initally they wanted to compete at ACI but decided to WD for different reasons than traveling... Yeah, the perception of the judges have changed since Euro 2020 and Papadakis/Cizeron lost momentum from there. Skipping the whole season and not competing for 21 months is a very long time even last season wasn't a complete one. On the other hand S/K gained momentum especially with them competing and winning Worlds 2021. Their federation is also much more influental. It will really be a battle for P/C from now on and that is why it would be good if they show from the start of the season that they are coming for their gold medal and show confidence. But choosing to compete at Masters instead of ACI may not be a sign of confidence. It looks like a careful choice. Maybe they want to get the first impressions from the French judges & officials and possibly controling some things like media narrative etc., I don't know. We'll really see, I'll be very curious about their scores in the GP Series.

  20. I feel very sad for junior skaters. Missing JGP twice in a row can have a long lasting effect on the junior field in Japan. I don't know how they will continue skating daily without losing their motivation completely. I wish JSF would have found a solution which is also good for their athletes. There were exemptions for foreign skaters for WTT for example, even though it was already a few months ago and the situation might be different now. Kao's disappointment is completely understandable, he could got into the final which will be in Japan anyway.

This is the sixth Junior Grand Prix event in the JGP Series in the 2021-2022 Season. The discussion thread can be found here.
  22. JGP Gdansk entry list is out and no Japanese skaters are on it https://results.isu.org/events/fsevent00110965.htm Since there is only 1 JGP left, then it is almost sure we won't see any Japanese skaters at this JGP season at all. Very sad
  23. Gubanova will represent Georgia and not Armenia as it was previously reported
