  1. I haven't heard about Ting Cui since summer where she competed at Skate Milwaukee. She had lot of problems with her jumps then... There is a promising junior Lindsay Thorngren who did junior GPs this season and went to Warsaw Cup too, plus there's Amber as well...But I think Alysa, Mariah and Karen have the most chances to go.
  2. Bradie Tennell has withdrawn from Nationals due to ongoing foot injury https://www.instagram.com/p/CYKwuCmMPol/?utm_medium=copy_link
  3. Happy New Year! I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2022! May Yuzuru be healthy and make his dreams come true in the year of tiger.

  5. I'm not too fond of his hairstyle this time and while the costume itself (the colour and details) is pretty, it feels like the chocker doesn't really go well together with the costume. The costume also reminds of Otonal a lot and to this piece of music maybe something else would go better. re the chocker: I think because of the deep V-neck cut without a choker Yuzu's neck would look even longer so they wanted to make it look a bit shorter. Which is fine, but the overall result could be much better imo But it is really not the most important after how wonderfully skated to this great program.
  6. Regina Schermann will represent Hungary at European Championships according to the selection criteria (2 best results of Budapest Trophy+Volvo Cup+4 Nations Championships). http://hunskate.hu/hirek/szovetseg/4-nemzet-bajnoksaga-eremeso-a-szombati-zaronapon
  7. So it's confirmed Yuzu will participate at Nationals! Ah, this week will be such an emotional rollercoaster but I'm here for it! I'm very curious to see what the changes will be in the choreography in Ten to chi to and how the layout will look like, and also very excited to see his short program (though it's TBD on Fuji TV's website ). I hope Yuzu will have a great weekend, and that he'll have skates that he'll be satisfied with, but first and foremost I wish him to stay healthy and well. I can't really wait to see him compete again, it's been such a long time. I missed seeing him so much in these past months, it is just never the same without him but the drought is finally over this week. The 24th will be so busy because that's Christmas day for us here, with lots of preparations for the evening where we have family dinner. On top of that we also renovate the house and I should clean a lot, too but won't have much time until Friday because I work until Thursday. At least thankfully the last groups of men's SP will be midday/early afternoon on Friday, not in the evening On the 26th I'll arrange family lunch...later in the afternoon or if that's not possible I will hide in the bedroom and watch the free skate
  8. Sui/Han brought back the quad twist in a test event in China. Source: x I think their 3S is not so reliable so they might have want a plus against M/G and others even if they make a mistake on the jump.
  9. Thank you to the whole team for organising the streaming party! It was very nice to read all the warm messages to Yuzu Happy birthday to Yuzu once again
  10. I wish I could join in the afternoon, but it is a working day for me and I'm too busy. 😪 Hope everyone will enjoy the streaming party 💕 ETA: ah I realised it's tomorrow! Maybe I will make it then!
  11. It seems there won't be Nationals in China? Maybe there will only be a skate off between the 3 skaters in the men and ladies. Anyway it's nice to know Han Yan is still competing, though the federation will probabpy sent Boyang to the Olympics.
  12. It was obvious at the Rostelecom Cup that the Schindler's list program wasn't really working. If Mishin knew that the free program wouldn't be on the same level as The White Crow then maybe it was the plan from beginning that they'd bring back the program later. In this way Kolyada could get even higher PCS than before (especially if he skates clean) because everyone knows the White Crow is a better program.
  13. I won't miss the overscoring and the subsequent media hype of certain skaters that usually happens, but I feel bad for some skaters (Rika and Ryuichi, Kaori, to name a few)-, and it's a bit strange to think about GPF is canceled while other competitions with a lot more skaters like Golden Spin, or Santa Claus Cup with more than 300 competitiors happen these days. But governments act differently and better cancel this than other, much bigger competitions.

It's the last Challengers event in the 2021/2022 season. The discussion thread can be found here.

  16. Happy birthday to our dearest Yuzu 🍄🎁 I wish him good health, love and happiness and wish him to make all his dreams come true! I hope he gets better soon.
  17. Gabrielle Daleman has won Skate Canada Challenge. Alison Schumacher finished only 10th, hope she is not injured. Results: https://cssterminalserv.skatecanada.ca/results/22CHALLSeniorWomenCR.html
  18. Hungarian ID team Yanovksaya/Lukacs have split after they couldn't qualify a spot for Hungary at the Nebelhorn Trophy. He will probably retire but she would like to continue competing for Hungary. https://magyarnemzet.hu/sport/2021/12/hoffmann-nora-most-mar-masok-almait-valositana-meg-a-jegen Julia Láng has reportedly left her long time coaches and she trains with Julia Sebestyen's group now. I'm not sure if she'll continue to train with Davydov's group on and off...she has also been injured so I wonder about her current form which we'll see at 4 Nationals later this month. Ivett has retired, sadly the last few years she wasn't that successful as her potencial showed back in 2016-2017. She had quite a unique style, I will miss her. That AC/SC short program in the Olympic season was memorable. Mark and Julia are doing quite well in pairs, though. They got two invitations in the GP Series and they did well. A few years ago I wouldn't have thought we'd qualify a pair for Olympics, and not a lady skater. Good luck for them at the Olympics!
  19. After the ranking competition, the 4CC team has been announced. Nationals will be in January but it's likely that Young and Yelim will go to the Olympics from the Ladies and Jun and Sihyeong (?) from the men, so it'll be really tough for them to travel to Europe and then go back to Korea or fly directly to Beijing, unless some of them will WD from 4CC.
  20. The watch looks nice especially the H&L colour scheme of the watch face - though I think silver would go better with these colours
  21. I think yes - if he lands his jumps clean in both programs and others won't skate very well he'd have a chance for a spot. So far he has one 4S in the short program and free skate, and he might work on making his layout a bit harder for Nationals. There is also Wesley Chiu who is still very young but he skated a good free program at Warsaw Cup two weeks ago, landing two 4Ts in the FS. Roman looks in good position now but he needs to skate well at Nationals in order to finish in one of the top places to get chosen for the Olympic team. He has better reputation with the international judges than younger skaters like Gogolev or Chiu, he can get over 80 PCS if he skates well, and besides his jumps he also has great spins. He is quite inconsistent, though.
  22. Nam is only 10th after the SP with a fall on 4S< and a 2Lz-2T combination. Hope he will skate better in the free skate, but his chances for qualifying for the Olympic team looks really slim now.
  23. It's heartwarming to see all the banners in the arena ❤ Even if Yuzu is not here physically his presence is felt in the arena and in the Olympic park. People are talking pictures of Yuzu's plaque at the Champions of Wall, they are talking about him while having a coffee break during ice resurfacing, they have Poohs with them etc. Everyone wishes him to get better soon. I hope the good wishes reach him in some form and it cheers him up a bit 😊
  24. Awful news It is terrible luck that it happens to him just now. We can only pray and hope it is not that bad and somehow he'll recover soon. But now I can't help say it feels so much like November 2017 all over again.
  25. until
