  1. I was looking forward for this translation, thanks to AWW for doing it. It's a very interesting interview, I already read it twice. Yuzu is so fascinating. Thank you to him for letting us have a bit of a look inside his galaxy brain
  2. I don't think it was possible for her (and for her mother) to stay in Canada because of visa restrictions. Jason probably has it easier because of his citizenship. Her decision was really bad after Worlds, but even if she had stayed in Canada now she probably wouldn't be as competitive as she was before. She had health issues even before the virus. And without 3A and quad(s) it is not enough to get into the team these days anyway.
  3. Not that surprising imo, other events (for example tennis) have also been cancelled. Though I think it's a bit late to find a new host country. But now, Finland is being discussed as a possible replacement of GP China: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1100275314-finlyandiya-mozhet-provesti-otmenennyj-etap-kitajskogo-gran-pri-tele-s.html
  4. Seimei has reached 20 million views!!
  5. The Hungarian test skates will take place this weekend. This is the live stream for Day 1. Julia Lang won't be there because she broke her bone in her right foot recently: https://www.instagram.com/p/CSW1oKJokYQ/ Lakernik will be the tech controller...https://www.instagram.com/p/CSguIHiolgc/
  6. Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Costa-Rica, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Maldives, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Seychelles, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname and Tunisia according to this (which looks like a reliable source) ISU should have thought about way earlier that France will require 10 day quarantine for those who are vaccinated with Sputnik so this won't be doable. Now the JGP series will be a big mess. And I don't even want to think about what will happen to the GP Series.
  7. It's just not a surprise she won't do any competitions next season. I think she moved on already with her career, with all these shows with Averbukh in the summer and autumn etc. In 2018 it was clear she would have a hard time to remain in good form. After not a strong GP season and a weak Nationals result in the fall of 2018, the federation helped her to get into the team for Worlds 2019 and thanks to her reputation she was managed to get a bronze medal there. Then came another weak GP event and her WD from Nationals, and we all know what happened after that. Learning a quad ands staying in form for another 4 years wasn't really realistic, she had injuries, her technique was never the best and all the other young girls in Russia were queuing for those three spots. On top of that she couldn't even remain in Canada because of the situation with the pandemic. It is easier to remain an active athlete on paper because of money from sponsors and show organizers. Eteri gets a lot of money from it as well. But many fans of her (and fans of Tutberidze) think she could return to competition - not in singles but in pairs. I just read a comment today she could compete in pairs and finally win a gold in the team even at Olympics 2026. How far is it from reality?
  8. ISU sent her for a year vacation and shill will be back in 2022. Will we ever see a big fed judge getting suspended or is it only for small federations? ISU should care about the systematic corruption because otherwise suspending one small fed judge and then not doing anything for 3-4 years won't help to get the system better.
  9. It sounds that he learnt that apology which was probably written by his agency. It isn't sincere.
  10. The first message is up. His voice is so soft Hope there will be a translation soon. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  11. Oh God, Swiss German is difficult to understand! Thanks for the translation!
  12. JGP Courchevel entries are up: http://results.isu.org/events/fsevent00110953.htm
  13. The Olympic village is always an orgy fest. Despite of all the restrictions athletes will probably find their way to have sex if they really want it.
  14. Dick Button was born on 18 July 1929. Happy 92nd birthday to him, hope he's doing well.
  15. until
This is the event of the Opening Ceremony of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The discussion thread can be found here.
  16. I hope she will realise the costume makes her skating look heavy and it really hides all her movements. The details on the costume look nice and the fact it was inspired by Rose's dress but it is just not a good look on her.
  17. Thanks for sharing! Now that he lost weight, he looks much younger and healthier. Good for him!
  18. If some ISU leaders and also Russia are against the changes then I don't think it'll happen at all. It sounds also controversial that they claim ISU still does not have a clear scheme of how the programs might look, because Lakernik gave quite clear ideas about them a few years ago and he also said the changes will probably happen post Beijing. So it seems it was all Lakernik's idea but not many people support this proposal.
  19. I responded to the part where you said has no plans to return to Canada.
  20. Thank you for the translation. I feel sorry for him, it sounds so tough.
  21. If you want to stick to Yuzu's words, he said he isn't thinking of returning to Canada at the moment, which doesn't exclude the possibility that he might think of returning there later. If your opinion is that he will never ever return to Canada, that's your speculation. People have different views and opinions, and yours is not the only one that can be accepted on this forum.
