  1. It was worth reading, thanks for posting. I'm just a very casual fan of ice dance, and I think this is the most difficult discipline to understand, at least for me. But I still like to watch it and over the years I developed some observations - which may be subjective and maybe it isn't have anything to do with reality But: Probably I'm in the minority when I say that I am not a big fan of Gabriella and Guillaume's skating. The only thing I love about them is their flow on the ice and the lightness of their skating. I think that is all. As many others I really loved their Mozart FD two seasons ago, because it was a gorgeous program, and after the Olympic season, they brought something new to ice dance. But since then, two seasons have passed, and this one was already the third year when they repeated the exact same style in their FD, which, to me became repetitious and anything but challenging or risky. I don't doubt they had a radical vision a couple of seasons ago, but now? I don't think their music choice for the FD was risky either. It was maybe unusual, but not risky or even interesting - though I like it, it's a nice piece of music, both in the first of second half of the program. Their short dances have always been weaker than their FDs, which became more significant this season than before, and not only because of V/M's return. It was interesting to read what they think about it: they said it's the pressure, and that it's easier to skate better when they are 2nd. They know that they have to work on that, because it will be even more difficult than before - it's the Olympics season + Latin is not their favourite type of dances, to say the least: I kind of disagree with this anyway. That dynamic can be translated on the ice and some of the former ice dancers or even current ones are able to do it beautifully without looking cheap and cliché. Also, I love their fluid style, but in ice dance, I think stiff skating is necessary here, unlike in singles skating. I love classic ice dance - many different dance holds, and some stiffness. Cappellini/Lanotte are my favourites when it comes to this. It'll be really difficult against V/M, not only because of the Canadians SDs are usually strong and Latin is definitely their style as well - but also because if they make no major mistakes in the FS, they would be hardly beaten. And as we saw, even a major mistake won't hurt if the gap between the two teams in the SD is big enough. To me it also seems that Guillaume is a much better ice dancer than Gaby. Sometimes Gaby skates like as if she only follows Guillaume on the ice, and she skates not with him together but rather 'after him' (I hope it makes sense). I don't really see their unison, or feel chemistry between them (yet). Sure, they are elegant and they skate delicately, which is nice and pleasing to watch, but it feels...empty to me. They mentioned V/M and that they work a lot on their relationship hard. I am sure many teams work on that aspect of skating, too, but it doesn't look as natural as V/M's. I just hope Gaby and Guillaume will search for different styles after PyeongChang, because they are young, talented, and they showed us that they were capable of excellent versatility in their junior years. If that happens they could be the strongest team in the next four years. I wish them good luck for that.
Lambielt én is kedveltem, különleges stílusú korcsolyázó! Jó újra látni a versenyeken, a palánk túloldalán!
  4. Yes, for that one minute it was worth watching. Even if they have never been so close, it's just unnecessary to cause drama which may not even exist.
  5. Yes, I know this - I was actually surprised that Javi said something like it was not his fault. The whole docu had a strange atmosphere though, as if the intention was to provoke drama.
  6. I am not surprised that they don't see each other often, and we know that most of the time they have different training schedules so they rarely see each other at TCC. I don't doubt that they haven't seen each other since Worlds or haven't even contacted each other between Worlds and WTT. But it shouldn't mean that they don't hear anything about the other - Brian, Tracy, or any other skater never mention Yuzu when they talk with Javi/they are in contact with him through sms, e-mails, whatever? I think either the journalist made a mistake or Javi was confused about the facts.
  7. Something has changed in their relationship over the years, yes, and it is possible that they have zero contact to each other when they don't train together in Canada. But I would find it really strange if Javi hadn't heard anything about Yuzuru for about a month (between GPF-early January), he's in contact with Brian, Tracy, other stuff members, skaters, so someone should have mentioned it to him? Maybe not before Javi's Christmas show at the end of December, but in January, when he returned to Toronto.
  8. It doesn't look good once the ice at all and the two colours don't go well together, in my opinion. He wore it at the GPF for the first time, and it would have been nice if he had explained why he decided to change his grey costume to a colourful one.
  9. He said it not long ago, maybe it was after 4CC..or Canadian Nats. I can't find the video unfortunately, but when he was asked about his interesting maroon-purple FS costume, he answered rather annoyed.
  10. Assymetric dresses suit almost every people, and it gives a bit extra to the look. :) It suits Yuzu a lot, too! I don't think a costume should distract from the actual skating, but it's still important how the costume reflects the music or the program, and how much it suits the skater's style. I don't agree with Chan who said that costumes are not important and if anyone wants to ask questions about what he wears, they should ask his costume designer, not him. It's an artistic sport and costumes are a part of the art as well.
  11. I think most people didn't like the lace and rhinestones either. I love the costume because it's beautifully detailed, unconventional and different, which suited both the 19-year-old Yuzuru and the music of Romeo and Juliet. I also love the colours of the rhinestones, the ombre arms, waist and the assymetric boobskirt - I love everything which is assymetric, tbh.:)
  12. Is it again one of your premonitions?
  13. I guess the journalist made a mistake and misquoted Javi. I don't find it realistic at all that Javi didn't know about Yuzu's flu and his absence from Nationals.
  14. I was never disappointed in his music choices or how the music was cut or which arrangement he chose. I'm sure I'll love it whatever he chooses. Yes, I think Gladiator would be a very good choice, because it's grandiose, dramatic, and something which can grab you in immediately from the first seconds. It reminds me of The Man in the Iron Mask a lot, which was iconic.
  15. There is lot of good Western music which suits his style and I'm sure his choice will be great. Most likely he won't choose Japanese music because 1. it may not attract the general audience and judges as much as a more popular, Western piece 2. the Olympics will be in Korea, it's better to be careful with the music choice and to avoid any kind of controversies 3. if he chose one, it would be the third year in a row, and Yuzu said he wants to try new music.
  16. This is so cool. Love it! An all-black costume with silver sparkles would look gorgeous on Yuzu.
  17. And I'm happy you like the new place.
  18. Kim Yuna made a speech at the International Sports Press Associations Congress in Seoul this week.
Főleg Yuzu vs a többiek esetében történtek idén elég érdekes pontozások ezen a téren. Ilyenre lenne szüksége Yuzunak is!
  20. Olympic medals are always way bigger and more beautiful than any others. I especially loved the Sochi medals.
  21. I hope you'll get used to the forum and enjoy it in the future.
