Crisis transfer announcement announced!

@olyphil: Russian figure skater association spokesperson Olga Ermolina told me that Evgenia Medvedeva would train with Tutberidze or Orser, the federal government emailed "no information".
Ermolina said Medvedeva is expecting to return from Monday on vacation.
"Then, there is something I want to say"

I don't think it will influence Yuzu, he and Zhenya can even have different time schedules and Brian by now surely knows how to manage his time. Though I personally would be more thrilled if Boyang could join TCC.

I guess I'm not too worried about Brian's attention being split, but more with how all the changes will affect the dynamics within the group. All the rumoured skaters who are said to be joining the team come with the huge attention that comes with being high profile skaters themselves.

Any change of course will cause some level of disruption to how things are, all the more in this case where the people involved attract a lot of attention and talk. I guess I'm just irrationally feeling protective of Yuzu, and hoping that whatever disruptions there are everything will come out alright for everyone in the end

Zhenya Medvedeva is going to Orser. I really don't see what the confusion is about?

Anyway, this is not going to affect Yuzuru, why would it? Can we please not start being those fans? It's sort of not pretty.

Raf is right, she and Brian have a tough road ahead, though she is way ahead of Yulia, who really was in an awful place when all of that happened with Eteri and Zhenya herself is in a better one as a skater. She'll be working her tushy off to get herself into a position where she can still have a career a year from now.

Yuzuru does his thing.

TCC is a serious club that knows how to organize their athletes and is perfectly capable of doing that now. They would not have taken a skater on if they thought it would be an issue. They have their own reputation on the line.

Oh I just saw that Kolyada news is out in the open finally, good

As @Fay said, Nathan is actually with Raf this summer so they'll be there together. I wonder if that is a part of it, he can check out some of that in person. Anyway, I am not sure how that'll work out but it is definitely because of the jumps, the Lz primarily, I'm sure. Hm, hm, considering Misha's overall technique I am not sure what else Raf can poke, unless they have him working on a new quad too which I am not too enthused about.

In this FS drama, would that be Deus ex Tatiana?

she comes back and her first new long term student is boyang. Top that for drama.

I'm so happy for Evgenia, And while I really respect Eteri (she is great professional with  tough style) I think Brian is the preferable choice for her, hope it won't be  painful breakup. Can't wait to see her progress next season :smiley-love017:

Looks like the fed is making peace with it, too.

Good for everybody.

I guess Wakaba's TCC rumours weren't complete. She does have a year of school left, doesn't she? Maybe it's all being planned. I hope so, at least. Wakaba would do really well at TCC, I think.

I don't feel bad for Eteri. It's not like she was doing Zhenya any huge favours. Whatever Eteri did for her, Zhenya paid back many times over by being as good as she became. Even if we know nothing more, this is perfectly fair enough. Zhenya has outgrown her. Good girl for looking out for herself and doing what she needs to do.

Yes, she does, she is going to graduate high school this season so who knows, it may happen at that point. I mean usually it'd be ideal to switch for a full quad but there is no doubt she's awfully young. Maybe nobody can go with her either, it happens.

I think the bold is pretty much exactly it. It's an overall issue of Eteri's group, it is not just Zhenya who is the issue. She does good work with the younger skaters but at this point, seems either unwilling or not ready to change her methods for those who are aging out of early-mid teens. It is actually possible this turns out to be a wake-up call for her, especially as she has some mighty fine skaters almost ready to switch, and who would want to lose Kosto, Sasha etc? So who knows, she may start putting things in place to be ready by the time it happens and this turns out beneficial for everyone.

And yes, good girl indeed. I think Zhenya really does love skating and performing and wants to last. Fight for that girl.

I think she was over with the school last summer. We finish school at 17.

Eteri will have to. The multiple run throughs kind of training? It's got to be more stressful on the body when they include 3As and quads! It will take work to find the balance between the tough training that does get excellent results, and minimising damage so they can keep skating and stay competitive past 18. I'm sure they can do it if Eteri stops with the body preparing for babies thing. I'm also glad that Zhenya isn't going to be the guinea pig.

Nice programmes for her now! :Cheese:

I keep counting in my head, if Wakaba goes to TCC in a year (2019), she’ll have completed the ”year and a half” in late 2020/early 2021, giving her basically a year before the Olympics, is that enough to establish her as a medal contender? On the other hand, she has already shown that she’s a threat. And also, waaaay to early to speculate.
