Elena Vaitsekhovskaya promises an exclusive interview with Evgenia Medvedeva - the snippets suggest Zhenya’s starting her training regime at TCC tomorrow and that Jason Brown met her and her mum at the airport and took them to their new home. 

And speaking about Zhenya - she loved her first competitive long in the seniors, but she disliked her 9.11 program - which she started feeling only closer to the Worlds. And she disliked her original long this year and was happy to have it changed to AK.

Not surprising to read about how she felt about her programs... I feel exactly the same way about them. Loved her debut and then only AK after that.

I also really loved her FS in her first year of Seniors (it's the first program of hers that I watched at Boston Worlds that made me a fan of hers). I did not care for the 9/11 program but grew to like it by WTT. I think she probably skated it the best at Helsinki. I never saw her first FS this past season but I loved the AK program. It's probably my favourite FS program of hers. Some of my favourite EX's of hers are from 2017 Worlds, Memory from FAOI and Euros 2018 EX

Thanks for the link to the translation. She has such a great head on her shoulders - so mature. I completely agree with TSL (crazy right?) that she is the Katarina Witt of her generation personality wise. And I love the fact that the Canadian skaters are ready to adopt her as one of their own. She will be like Javi - our honarary Canadian

A good head on her shoulders Zhenya has. Her FS at the Olys was her first performance that I liked, and no wonder now reading this. 

 

Ah, must be exciting for her and her mother, starting this new chapter. Looking forward to the next season and what it will bring for her.

I think they will be adding the Russian flag to their flag collection soon..... she also probably looked at the plaques with the winners' names and wants hers there next...

Ha! Now that's something to see. Starting from the basics indeed! Good old TCC.

 

And great that Jason and Zhenya seem to be connecting. Thanks for all the pics! Her English is good enough and the newbies can help each other out, what with the additional welcome of the old-timers. Hopefully it's a good season for all of them.
