[2018] World Championships (19-25.03) - Practice, Fluff & all the In-betweens

Impressions from today's men's practice:

Shoma :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: please, be fine!

Boyang is so great and adorable and works hard on all his elements. And that quad lutz :tumblr_inline_mueoe3Yabh1qdlkyg:

Nathan was so stable on his jumps, worked mostly on jumps unsurprisingly--even in his runthrough. But his jumps are truly great and he seems to really love jumping. Also, he is much prettier live, I think. And he now has some curls again!

Misha Ge was absolutely fantastic, but left very fast.

Mikhail Kolyada is so impressive. The height of his good jumps is just wow! His speed is also great, and he flies from one end of the rink to the other with just a few steps. He started the practice so well, but then let a few jumping mistakes get to his head again--or at least that's how it seemed to me.

Deniss Vasiljevs had a very rough practice, with lots of triple-axel falls :tumblr_m7etfqA8wS1qb1380:

*shrug* she's 20? I think it's normal. And even if it's not, she'll probably grow out of it. But starting an instagram about someone's before/after pics is cyberbullying, ugh.

She’s been open about her struggles with disordered eating too so it’s really not necessary for this account to scrutinize her body further, sigh.

(also first post hi)

On Tuesday evening, Uno left the ice rink after a few minutes, before he had performed any jumps, and was then carried on a member of staff's back with a cold pack around his ankle as he got on the bus, saying to reporters "I'm OK."

Shoma was carried on someone's back?? I hope they're just being cautious... I think I read this morning somewhere that Kobayashi-san said he was fine despite pain from boots?

Let's just cancel the men's....this season has been nothing but a plague of injuries and sickness.

The hardness level for boots for quad jumps is around 90-100, aka brick (or near brick) level.  Considering how much his jumps are cushioned by his knees, I wonder if boots take longer than average for him to break in.

i had to drop by seeing all the mess at worlds right now

-missing luggages, wrong cd music,  double standards treatment, sh*t media at it again, some bad fans of "figure skating", shoma's ankle.., people not showing up to practice, toxic skaters pointing other skaters a whole load of mess

this cursed season needs to end. :judgmental:

the kiss and cry is a church shouldnt the whole Worlds be blessed

(not intending any religious purpose but just saying out of desperation)

maybe a certain troll needs to bless the ice or all the luck went to Pyeonchang

So far there's no confirmation from JSF and Shoma's team and they both said "he's ok". The injury is only the speculation from media, most of them use the term "it seem", "it appear". He's breaking into new boots so it may hurt his foot. Hopefully its just a minor pain and some rest/icing may enough. I'm glad he stopped the practice right away. From practice notes, he has trouble with 4F and 4lo, other jumps are ok so I think he'll be fine.
