I don't recall seeing him cry. I saw him drippy but not crying. At least, I thought it was just drippy. Did I miss something?

was that not him crying when he checked his ankle? he wiped his eyes area... or was it just sweat.....

anyways I just dislike the sadness in the documentary........ only fluff please

I feel less bad about docu after translations here, but still I think there was too much of Shoma and Nathan footage, they could include more CoR footage for example, not that Japanese TV usually lacks it in their archives...

I'm waiting to see Chinese subtitles. It's curious to me that the people who don't know Japanese and the native speakers tend to dislike the documentary. As a non-Japanese speaker, my bigger issue was that the point didn't seem well-organized. The fact I don't understand japanese probably contributed to the confusion.

What I am curious about is whether there are any terms that come off in a literal translation as a compliment or neutral, but due to general societal connotations, it's actually a bit of shade. Like in China, if I wanted to genuinely compliment someone I probably won't go too poetic simply because it can be considered fake (and an indirect way to shade too), due to the fact in China that way of speaking is something you do in a formula only for your literature exams (to score perfect essay points) and nothing else.

@SparkleSalad it's not just you, I've been wondering the same thing all day... also because I don't mind the fall footage that much. Yes, it always makes me cringe and some angles are amazing at giving the full impression of the impact, but IMO, falls are part of FS and even if I watch that fall a million times, it won't hurt me even a milionth as much as it hurt him. Of course, my watching it doesn't help him in any way, but for me, personally, it's a way of acknowledging. Maybe that's actually why I don't mind the documentary as much as others... I don't particularly enjoy seeing the darker moments of his career, but it feels right to acknowledge them. To me, they're as important, if not even more so than the fluffy moments. Not more than the victories, but more than the fluff. And the darkness we felt watching this? I'm sure it's nothing compared to what he must have gone through since that day in November. This is where Yuzu's story is at this point. Unknown, uncertain. Brian reassures us it will be fine, which will give a happy ending to this documentary.

Actually, I now think people are so upset because this documentary played up their fears and concerns. Especially since everyone was riding high on Brian’s comments. But this documentary was like exposing everyone’s fears and shoving them in everyone’s faces. Although they’re actually only exposing facts. But they did downplay Yuzu and made his successful return seem less likely, which, after yesterday, was like a slap in the face. It brought back insecurity when we felt we could breathe a little easy again.

IMO, the worst part was the promotion because, combined with recent news, made people expect something completely different. That was a huge fail.

I am very sorry guys, maybe i should have attempted to translate the description of the documentary.

\While it was somehow promoted as a Yuzu documentary (i mean, they used him in the trailer), and the title does have his name, the "cast" section here does list Shoma and Nathan and the description also mentions them "catching up" (or smth like that) with Yuzu. So i expected them to be included in the documentary instead of just Yuzu.

I watched only a bit (thanks to @Floria for uploading it!) and it was really painful to see what happened right after the injury.

For some reason, i wish they had waited until after Olys to show this...
