It's over already cause it was a delayed broadcast... and not yet in the video pool of the channel (it was on one.ard.tv)... I'll keep you updated if it appears in their media section (It should sincwe their programmes for the competition are in there as well)

ETA: At the moment I can only find their coverage of the ID fs....let's hope for the gala

:thanks:<3

I'm watching the videos of the EX parts I missed.

a) Deniss! I like his EX, and really his skating skills are so underscored, how do judges sleep at night?

2) Javi-his loop jump looked weird, he hasn't been jumping 4Loop in secret has he? Because it sure looked more like a popped loop than anything...

3) Dima- I like his EX too, and again, his jumps sound nice-soft landings. I think technique wise, he's okay for jumps? Can't wait to see what he does in the next couple years, knock on wood for his health.

4) Alina's EX...rinkmate and I watched over dinner. Our conversation actually went like this:

Me: *30 secs in* What's the theme of this EX?

Rinkmate:...maybe it's some kind of ritual?

Me: ...with this music?

Rinkmate: maybe it's some tribalism and ritual type together?

Me...okay, putting that aside, do you get it?

Rinkmate:...well maybe it's ritualistic music or something...

Me: okay, but do you get it?

Rinkmate: honestly, no I don't get it either

Also, what was Sasha doing in the final ex number? The camera zoomed in on the group taking the photo, but I swear I saw her behind close to the panels on her butt. Did she try a 4S and miss?

Exactly. It was her second attempt during the all on ice part, if I'm not mistaken, and after she failed the first one Eteri made some gesture which was frightening (I even thought she showed her a fist, but I'm not sure, I was very far).

This Euro Gala was cool, really (although, not so cool as Rostelecom one, but it can't be helped:13877886:).

1. Junior skaters are amazing, especially girls (well, not as if I'm saying something new now). I finally saw Kostornaya and Trusova live and I confirmed my previous impression: I still like Kostornaya more. But for me all her endless transitions look much better in the broadcast. They are so quick and really endless overall that it seems she has no flow, although this isn't true. It’s like she is doing, doing and doing something all the time.

Trusova on the contrary seems to have some empty parts in the choreography to give her time to focus on jumps (maybe I have a false impression, I’m just a common viewer). Her rotation during jumps is crazy fast!

2. I'm so happy I saw Deniss’ex! Such a nice program. With this costume and choreography he reminds me of Stéphane so much! (But he still was a bit too slow to make me totally see Stéphane’s skating).

3. I was surprised in a good way by Zabiyako/Embert. Their ex is stylish (or I just like 20s fashion) and looks great with disco ball lighting (and costumes are so sparkling!) Tarasova/Morozov were nice and relaxing as usual. Their ex is really so warm:tumblr_inline_mzx8s4JRlX1r8msi5:. Stolbova/Klimov’s skating skills are wow!

4. Zhenya’s new ex was a good surprise! It's not the first time for her to have a few exs for a season and she already used Russian song once too (the other one), but I totally didn't expect it this time. One of my friends said that was a special “healing” ex for Zhenya to give her scream her inner pain out. I think this is pretty much correct, because I never saw Zhenya being so emotional before (and she said in the interview afterwards, she really never had so many emotions and never been so happy to be able to perform). And, wow, Zhenya really has speed and flow. She is more mature now and this affects her skating in a good way for me (although her athletic approach to jumps still kills me and sometimes destroys all the impression from a program).

5. Karo’s ex looked a bit strange in this costume and I don't like those pauses when she stands and just makes some moves, but it's personal. Overall, it's energetic and interesting to watch. Besides, I really can't get what’s up with her jumps: sometimes they are great, sometimes they are really off.

6. Kolyada seems to improve his skating skills a lot (in my opinion): he never was bad in it, but now it looks like he knows what to go with his hands and legs all the time, so I enjoyed watching his ex (as far as his short; for me, his free simply doesn't show his strong points). Aliev did well, although I'm not a fan of his skating, I'm happy for him. From my point of view, he improved too, especially speaking about stamina (previously, I was always afraid he wouldn't be able to hold on till the end of the program, now it seems to be under control).

7. Bobrova was dressed properly, this was the best thing that could happen in the Gala (I'm joking, I enjoyed their ex). Stepanova/Bukin are so young, fresh and energetic, always nice to watch!

8. Javi continues to make me faint. I already almost fainted when during the Wednesday practice he checked his ankle with very serious facial expression after a bad jump save, then he was white as a sheet after the free and today that fall. He rolled on his back more than 3 m. The whole arena said “ouch” simultaneously. But speaking about the program itself, it's so sassy and entertaining, a good choice for gala. When already after the all on ice part he climbed over the board to sign and took photos, it was really touching! (But when he was already climbing out the whole group of flower children saw him and ran after him; they were late, but it looked like Javi cut and ran from a huge crowd of children:rofl:).

9. I'm not a big fan of the French couple, but when they skate and you watch them live, time flies discreetly. They are very calming (boring on the screen sometimes, but calming in real).

10. Ondrej and Valentina are simply created for galas: they have all types of tricks to entertain the audience and they manage to not be vulgar at the same time, this is so precious! And Ondrej taking care of Sacha after her fall during the all on ice and making sure she will have a good place in the photo:10636614:. He is simply such a good guy!

11. I need to say, I was very sceptical about Alina’s ex, but from my place in the top of the arena her unitard looked better than in the broadcast. The choreography looks good, although I also can't get why this tiger (!) needed to dance a kind of ritual dance (to make it rain? to make the soul of the killed tiger rest in peace?).

“All on ice” part made the whole arena laugh because of the music choice (they made funny famous songs to sound serious to make it even more funny). Athletes having fun is always a pleasure to watch. But those golden stripes made me miss Yuzu even more. :sadPooh:

Javi's had 4Lo for a while. I wonder. :animated-smileys-hands-fingers-01:

Thank you for you report/observations! It's always fun and interesting to read about live accounts.

Ondrej is a sweetheart. /I hope he gets reunited with Yuzu and lifts him up again./

This is why I liked it (apart from some of those jumps, like you.) Sincere emotion makes all the difference in the world, which is why Yuzu is so captivating. I hope she can leave the pantomime behind and skate to more music she can connect with. :tumblr_inline_mueoe3Yabh1qdlkyg: Her flow has improved so much and when she's not tied down by the content of a competitive program she can really display it better. I know packing transitions is how that school wins but I really can't appreciate that philosophy for what it sacrifices in expression. I think the pantomime might perhaps be seen as a necessary way to compensate and tick certain PCS boxes. Anyway, it was a nice surprise and I look forward to her future exhibitions. :)
