Are any of the Ladies at the same club as the Unnamed Man? Could be that too, if they’re not.

Yeah... none of them are from that club.

I feel so sad (and outraged) about how the JPN ladies were screwed over.

When it comes to the Japanese ladies, it is possible that JSF is saving the 'push' for Satoko. She has known jump issues but is really good in the components department so what leftover power they have, they may put behind her. We'll see how all that unfolds.

I fear that if it is so, they may have over-played their hand because right now, I'd say Wakaba and Mai are a much better bet.

It could also be that they're saving their push for the men, considering they have two OGM contenders. After Gabby and Kaetlyn podiumed at Worlds, some said that the Canadian Fed would reduce their politicking for Patrick and spend it on their ladies, and we saw that at Skate Canada.

I've never felt that they politicked for Satoko that much, and coming off of a serious injury it would be a bit questionable to start now.

It certainly might be the case. JSF in general doesn't have the power of say SC or USFSA. But on the other hand, if they are pushing the men, then it's more the man, singular.

As for the ladies, yes, I mean logically speaking, I'd not do it either so you should be right but to be honest, I've sort of abandoned logic when it comes to reasoning some of this out :smiley-laughing021:

I sometimes wonder if Japan ever truly politicked for their women for the past several years. It feels like their girls are left to fend for themselves in the wilderness, hunger games style. That so many can come out well is amazing.

late to the party, work called for a few hours, but this was better skated than the sp at SC. I like that all the girls are close together after the sp, meaning that the long will be very interesting tomorrow. I may not agree with everything, but it's close and everyone has a chance.

My favourite, Mai, has really improved her presentation skills of this program. She can do that combo so much better than that (think she was nervous) and was punished for it, although the other scores..hmmm. I thought she was much better than some others above her... I really hope that her early start order doesn't impact her scores too much, but I"ve watched this sport for 35 years so I know how this could go... i just hope she skates her very best and puts herself in the position to be moved up if others falter. There will be no gifts for her here. I still hope for her to get to Olys somehow, I have a soft spot for her....

I am not as mad at the judges as at the tech specialists to be honest. I think judges scored due to reputation and skating order. But tech specialists know better than that. Why they ignore some calls and call others is beyond ridiculous.

I hope Wakaba will medal. That’s my only hope.

Keeping up with all the Competition today thanks to Eurosport... I'm kinda surprised that Radionova topped everyone today, even if not by much. I'm calling:
1) Zagitova
2) Higuchi
3) ??? Could be, like, 4 different people, so I really don't know.

Edit: LOL Will no one correct me and tell me I totally forgot about Daleman???  Dishonor on me, dishonor on my cow. Ps: my predictions are the same

The "weak" power of JSF is beyond me. What is the basis of a federation's power, the overall power of a nation!? If that's the case, I'll pray for them real hard.

Regarding their "pushing powers" for the men, the party is kinda' left out and looks like a one-man-show. But no worries his team and the fans (wave everbody) can do the pushing, the judges too with all the low-balling you're doing to him. After all he just needs a little push to light up a fire in him. Otoh, the younger brother is getting all the love. Plus he has this deep roots that is very good at pushing too (remember the W17 not emotional enough claim?). Careful with the pushing though, he's a little kid he might break...

Meanwhile, poor ladies get the Que Sera Sera treatment from them. Whoever emerges from the bloodbath alive wins. Olympic season is really interesting!!

Yea and u see all the Japanese sponsors during COR u just wonder why jsf has so little power

but I think the reason behind it tho might be they want to know who has the strongest mental power n can deliver at the important events, thus the bloodbath for ladies, whoever survive has both great performance n mind

That is a logical explanation. I thought for a moment they'll gonna gun for Marin. Good thing they didn't because that won't be a good decision (not for now at the very least). Good luck with these ladies. They really really need it.

I was also wondering if they aren't pushing any of the girls in order to see who will rise and who will get marks from the judges. They want to see who delivers here and then push after that... why else would these particular 3 get sent together? Whoever is favoured after this might then get the push starting at gpf if someone makes it... I certainly wouldn't wait to see if Satoko is healthy... If these girls are getting carrots and urs and es, then Satoko with her jumps would get them for certain, especially since this year they are really being picky so far on the urs.
