Re: Shoma, his tango did not convince me, but I know I'm in the minority there xD

I'm in the minority too, but that's because I'm not a fan of tango in FS and I'm quite obstinate... Haha

It's just that lady screaming in his music was quite shocking lol

Milva was a trauma for me too...I got used to it, but I think the lack of transitions was my biggest problem lol

Not a fan of tango in FS either, I don't think many skaters can pull it off tbh.

I think Yuzu will choose something easier for the judges to understand lol they sure did not get H&L. I wonder what it could be though.

i like Shome's SP better than his FS. and i really hope Yuzu choose something passionate so that Shoma can't out-drama him lol

I love his SP music, so even though it's deemed the 'weaker' among his programmes this season according to most critics, I'm still willing to watch him skate over it. The LP I could only stand the first half before the music is interrupted

I'm actually more fan of abstract programs... They allow more room for personal interpretation (but I do understand why judges prefer a more concrete program).

Although I absolutely admire artistry in FS, when a skater does not jump well (since jumping passes) are a major part of the program, I tend to doze off and not really enjoy. And like mentioned before, crossovers and two feet skating is not my cup of tea.

I'm probably the only one who doesn't like tango or even any classics, lol.( One might wonder why I'm following fs) But I love innovative and 'different' programs! :yay:. Sometimes there are other gems too, like Satoko's the Planets  Patrick's programs this season, and even Mai's cheesy Cinderella, and some of the ice dances also  . I'm hoping for more innovative and creative programs this season, but it's olympic season so is that too much too ask?

This  xD

but I think we'll see many dramatic programs next season, so...probably not many abstract programs. I wonder what kind of interpretation he'll try to give for Winter (since for me there's just one Winter SP  ). Mostly, I wonder which kind of music Yuzu (and the ladies) will choose now.

True! Look at N.Chen when his jumps aren't there. It's a shame that he has sacrificed so much from the artistic part of his programs. He is a talented skater IMO. He can do so much more artistically speaking, but so many hard jupms took their toll.

And because I do pay much attention to jumps and spins (I still can't name a lot of steps or whatever moves in FS), I still don't appreciate ice dance.

Well, the coming olympics will be the quad era olympics. More quads = more drama (from fans I mean xD). This will compensate the music... Lol

That was such a revealing moment! When the jumps aren't there his FS loses a lot of impact and umpf, it almost becomes sad to watch. Dramatic music could prove to be a double edged sword when it drowns the skater out and none of its musical accents is hit. Even if you're trying to get back into it the damage is already done.
