What's going on with these no-show rumours?

Like I said in the General thread, I tend to trust non-Japanese journalists more on this, because misunderstandings can happen due to language differences. Also, I think the Jack Gallagher tweet came before the sanspo (I think it was) notice that Brian might not go. I also have my doubts about Tracy going as a coach... unless she'll ditch her commentating to stay with Yuzu (and Javi this week), which is a bit... I mean, he's a grown man after all. Then again, he doesn't really have a second main coach as other skaters do, so it's possible, unless someone else could come. But we'll see, I guess... Personally I think Brian will go, though. Maybe not to China this week, but I think he very likely will go to Japan.

I'm too scared to go back in the gen thread.  I haven't checked since CoR. I need Brian to go. I need to see his jumps. They are the best jumps of all the jumps.

Why are you scared of the gen thread? If Brian needs this time to heal up then it's good that it happened during Skate Canada. He'll can recover in time for GPF. And I think it was said that Tracy was also going to be accompanying TCC skaters to help Brian even prior to his surprise surgery. Her only commentary job was for CTV/TSN which only owns the rights to Skate Canada. CBC owns the rights to the rest of the GP series/finals.

Didn't she do commentary at Rostelecom, too? Or am I misremembering? But she wasn't rinkside in Moscow, so I kind of assumed she'll only be around for the big events, or maybe just the Olympics, rather than the whole Olympic Season. But who knows... I do wish she'd be around more... Oh it could also be she'll mostly be around when both Yuzu and Javi are there, so neither of them will have to be left alone.

Nope. For CBC it was Kurt Browning and Carol Lane. Sometimes she does commentary for NBC but it was the usual Tara and Johnny with Terry Gannon. I think she'll only be around when multiple TCC skaters are on the same event (not necessarily just big competitions. I mean, she was there at ACI which is just a challenger comp.

Ah, I see. I have no idea about who does commentary where, since I mostly watch FS online lol And that makes the most sense. But generally, there aren't multiple TCC skaters in the same event until the big ones, I think...

Haha omg I just got to my hotel. And I know Tokyo hotels are tiny but this one is not just tiny, it’s miniaturised! So the photos look normal but I’m in Being John Malcovich land! 

 

(Worst pillow of my life. Why does Japan hate comfort? Maybe I’ll get that custom Yuzu pillow. >_>)

 

(I haven’t been to Tokyo in 7 years and I’m pretty sure it’s even louder and more crowded now >_>)
