I'm not totally sure about sharing the e-tickets anymore because the app actually says one of the features is you can transfer them to friends and share them through LINE app so I'll have to check the NHK website dealy again. But going in with someone else is fine. I'm going to double check the verification, too, to see if there might actually be a way around it as long as you take ID.

The app also says if you have a phone with ios 7.0 or android 4.0 and above you should be fine (no tablets and a couple of obscure handsets excluded.)

I kind of want to buy the NHK pamphlet but not worth the lines. Nothing is worth lines. I want to live somewhere where it's culturally acceptable to sit on the ground and just scooch along.

Hmm, I see... maybe I'll get the app, too, then, just in case. And maybe we could meet and tackle the talking to people challenge together - I'm clinically shy, too, but I actually like talking to Japanese people; part of why I offered to help with the swans, too, as a personal challenge - though not sure what we'd do if we found someone with just one ticket... maybe flip a coin for it ^_^; Ah, well... I want Milan now, before I decide I'm done waiting and end up spending 800euros for one of their stupid packs...

lol That was part of my reason for swanning, too. I'm image training for swanning everyday, I'm so nervous. I can speak Japanese enough online but when I'm on the spot I'm lucky if I can even English at people. :13877886: If we do team up just look for a dead mute bunny.

It seems there are a lot of shy people around these parts. I do think shy people have a bit more sensitivity for the kind of subtle beauty we're all a fan of here. :)

I hope you get good seats for Milan, with or without the sandwiches! XD

Oh no, Pchan might withdraw from NHK! Don't do it, Pchan!

No, I really wanted to see him at least once... though I understand he might not want to be seen lagging so much behind... Plus Yuzu needs the challenge...

Same here. I am/was soooo looking forward to seeing him with my own eyes. Even with him there it's hardly a challenge for Yuzu, though. Somebody just needs to say something to piss him off before he skates. That's all we can hope for now. Or for Jason to land some quads our of nowhere.

Didn't Jason land a 4T this weekend? Though no idea if he did it in competition, too, I just saw a tweet about it. And maybe we can make some Shoma Olympic Champion posters, to piss off Yuzu >.>

It would be really sad if Patrick decides to withdraw from NHK... It emphasises all the more that his retirement is coming :(

He would probably still skate in shows though, so there would be chances to see him yet.

And I'm just periodically clicking on the ticket website now too.

What chances that someone still won't be able to properly close out their transaction and leave us some tickets open...

I turned his FS off after he fell on the first jump (I already got my RDI of embarrassment from the new velour jumpsuit) and TBH his SP was skated so fabulously I couldn't even concentrate on the jumps. Boy made me love a tano! How he do dat?

I wonder how much kuyashii is brewing from Shoma winning SC. And with Pchan probably retiring, he'll never have that sweet victory. More kuyashii for the King! THE KING DEMANDS MORE KUYASHII!

Yeah... and with him, I can't help thinking about Javi's potential retirement, too...

And sadly, I doubt they'd hold tickets this long, if there were such problems... But thank you so much for joining us in this heartbreaking endeavor! :thanks:

Dear Pchan,

Please do an ice show in Australia.

We have lots of wine, you have lots of wine, it's a perfect match!

I'm still clicking, too, feeling all clever that I'll catch a ticket by surprise and then it's just (x).

Thanks so much again for helping out. :10742289: It seems you actually came the closest to getting anything, too!

I didn't watch anything... only turned to the thread a bit after seeing some pictures of Shoma flat on his back on the ice, worried he might have actually hurt himself, then stopped reading that, too. Yuzu is literally my ideal male figure skater - though I never even knew I had an ideal. Everyone else is more or less blah so I can't really find the motivation to watch ^_^; (I love Javi's new FS, though... surprisingly. So I enjoy that.) And he can have kuyashii until GPF. Then, ideally not too much kuyashii anymore... or we'll be dead before he turns the kuyashii into a weapon...

Ehhh? Is he okay? He's usually so adorable when he falls down. At least he has a giant turkey leg to rest on.

He's my ideal, too. It took awhile for my brain to work out that he was a real thing. I hadn't seen anyone come close in any performing arts, really. Possibly because I'm a hopeless Japanophile and Joe Hisaishi and dragon flutes are my jam. Though I love Stephane Lambiel as much as Yuzu. He's done a bunch of stuff competitively I don't care for but I think he's the most beautiful skater I've ever seen. Blasphemy to say on here but Yuzu still has 10 years to catch up to him. I hope he choreographs for Yuzu one day, though I wonder if they'd match. They seem a world apart culturally.

Now I feel compelled to do an NHK rundown of my unimportant and dull preferences.

I like other skaters for certain things they do but can't really call myself a fan of too many. Jason is gorgeous skater and his spins are  but I his style isn't really my style.

With Pchan, his programs seem more or less the same post-Sochi but his skill always makes me gasp. He's beautiful but a bit boring but I'd happily watch him all day. Adam Rippon I just watch for his layback and his Rippon, tbh, because they're that beautiful (also for his way out of date "talk to the hand" SP ending pose which I'm so disappointed he's ditched this season!) Deniss I'm keeping an eye on but really waiting for him to develop more - I would love a baby Stephane but that's not fair to expect of anyone. Nam I just feel like cheering for because he had such potential before his growth spurt and he seems to be finding his feet again.

As for the ladies, I have been trying really, really hard to enjoy ladies FS as much as mens but really the only ones I can get interested in are Wakaba and Carolina (can't wait! so excite! much happy! but need to see her most beautiful FS :13877886:) maybe a bit of Satoko and Gabby.

I don't have any time left after that for pairs and ice dance, just Papadakis and Cizeron, like everyone else. :) If they were at NHK I'd call it a day. That would be enough FS for me to last a lifetime.

Sorry, got caught up in writing some angst :joy:

Seems Shoma is ok... just had some boot problems. The tweet had pics of him on the ice and a caption saying he took some time to get up, so I worried. For all that I'm frustrated about the Yuzu vs Shoma thing, I can't help liking Shoma. I guess I just related to his awkwardness. I also think he has the potential to be a truly worthy heir of Yuzu's legacy, but judges being overindulging might just work against him. Because it doesn't force him to improve.

I enjoyed Stephane in ice shows quite a bit, so I can understand what you mean. I haven't properly watched Jason yet, but his eternally smiling face and fluffy attitude has me bipolar. Part of me is ugh because too much sunshine, but part of me find it kind of fun and endearing.

Pchan... I guess my lack of experience shows, because I can't really see that skill - or rather I guess I don't know where to look. But the plain costumes and the arms are distracting, too. His arm and upper body movements I think are generally considered ideal for men's figure skating, but I actually hate it. It bugs me so much, especially the stiff arms with the stiff Ken doll hands. Part of why I like Javi's new FS is because there seems to be less of that, and more natural movements, instead. I also like Javi because generally, you can just tell that he enjoys skating. And I guess there's also that charm that David was talking about. But to me, none of them compare to Yuzu because Yuzu has it all. The artistry and the technical difficulty, spectacular jumps that he makes look easy and natural and his glide and flow on the ice.

Ladies FS I sadly find boring. After seeing how much men - or well Yuzu - can do on the ice, without compromising on either difficulty or artistry, I find ladies boring... Although for some reason I used to root for Carolina. I don't remember any of her skates, but I used to root for her. Currently, I think it's amazing she's competing against girls virtually half her age and even beating some of them.

Pairs and ice dance I have no real idea about... they scare me with their throws, too... I like the Shibs, though, essentially. But I need to watch more to get a serious impression. I guess I'll have the chance at NHK, since, if I remember correctly, free dance is in the morning before the gala? (also the 8K reruns generally come immediately after other competitions)

A relief about Shoma! I think he's wonderful but hope he'll try different styles after the Olympics. I've completely zoned out on his programs for this season but still rooting for him. Seems like a nice and dorky kid. :)

The key to enjoying Pchan is to just look at his feet and ignore all else.  I also find that stiff "balletic" posture quite boring. I think Javi is a bit similar but his jumps are awesome (and his Javi-level super-saves are always fun!) and when he's on he's so fun to watch - charming, as you said. I actually prefer Pchan's EXs - he seems to have become super-serious since Sochi which is disappointing. I hope he performs at the gala and we can see something as smooth and loose as this again:

I was ho-hum about Carolina though I thought she was a fine skater. I took a bit more notice after FaOI, went back to ho-hum at Lombardia, then BOOM straight to my heart at CoR. Probably the nicest ladies FS I've ever seen. She's too lovely. I usually don't care much for lovely but she's just too gosh dang lovely, consarnit! And, yes, I love that she beat someone nearly half her age. :) It's nice that a few ladies have decided to stick around longer than usual because you don't really get a chance to see that refinement and maturity that you get in the men's field otherwise. I think I'd like ladies a lot more if there was more diversity in the age range.

Shibsibs have amazing twizzles. They could do a whole program of just twizzles and I'd be happy.
