2018 Worlds - Milano (Tickets)

Hello, everyone! I really want to go to Milan but I live very far away and not sure whether Yuzu will go or not. Will it be too late to get tickets if I wait until December? And do you guys think he will go?

There are no real answers to your questions, just guesses. I think a lot of people, read, loads of Yuzu fans, are waiting for single tickets to go on sale. The only thing you can do is pay close attention to the official website and ticket website, and look if/how fast the tickets fly when they go on sale.

From recent interviews, I'm starting to get the impression Yuzu isn't really considering retirement yet, and *if* he wants to continue until Japan 2019, there really isn't much of a choice; he will have to go to Milan. Much as I adore Shoma and think he's awesome, I don't think the Japanese feds (or Yuzu, for that matter) want to risk something going wrong. What if Shoma falls ill? What if his boots fall apart after Olys, what if his boots gets lost on the flight etc. etc. (And there are other pretenders to the Worlds Gold, so...). We've seen it all now, these things happen. They will not want to risk Japan only ending up with, perish the thought, 1 spot for the Men at Worlds in Japan.

But all of that is just speculation on my part. ;-)

I'd like to add that Brian has said he encourages his skaters to go to Worlds after the Olympics, because it's only fair to do so. It's not like once Olympics is over, that's it, end of the story. So I think that baring injuries, illness, extreme fatigue etc, things that could appear at any competition, Yuzu will be there.

No, please, I have a deep seated trauma over the refresh button by now :13877886: I should have said "No way, he's coming, why would he?" to decrease the number of people attempting to get tickets... :xD:

On topic of seats choice.

I usually prefer to sit closer to KnC. At CoR during SP I was near 3A and ina bauer in the end of stsq :10742290: the ending pose is closer to that side too. If I'll decide to go to Milano (who I'm kidding  it only depends on what tickets will go on sale - I'm used to seat closer to the ice) I would like to seat closer to rippon combo and the beggining of stsq :tumblr_inline_nhkezmYSxk1qid2nw:

In FS I was in the lutz corner, for this FS I'd really would like to be on the judges side :13877886:

Ive had a day to stew over where I want to sit (if I even get an option that is haha I may end up scrambling for the closest seat possible :13877886:) and I still cant decide......especially for the FP. Closer to ice-level vs on the judges side? Though you get the big camera on the judges side right? don't want that blocking my thousand-dollar view (literally) :xD:. It would also be nice to look at a different angle to whats usually shown on camera right? hmmmmm... thoughts? Am I over-thinking things?(yes I probably am :tongueyuzu:)

There is one thing watching live I really noticed with many skaters performances and that's that they are often geared towards the judges side- (and camera). I don't want to pick out top names now, BUT if you are mostly there to watch Hanyu you don't have to worry about that at all anyway IMO.

Actually part of what impressed me the most seeing him skate live for the first time was him performing (the heck out of it) about equally for all directions of the rink.

(Came his turn I actually felt the judges might feel neglected, because there wasn't the usual special treatment :slinkaway:  .... ).

So I would only worry about and favor judges side if you have many favourites to watch really, otherwise I would personally go for nearer to ice level seats any day.

ETA: while we're at it though, any personal ecperiences with the short sides of the rink? Eyeing those as well this time.

Well, H&L was more multi-directional programme, Seimei is more for judges side. Cameras are usually in the middle, so you can look for not block B5, but more like B6-7. Closer to ice-level vs on the judges side - it's hard to decide. I prefer to be closer to the ice.

Is B block considered far from ice? It is more likely to be able to get a ticket on the B blocks so I am wondering if it is good enough or should I kill myself trying to get A block tickets

I have never been to a competition before (or even seen an ice rink in real life) so any advice helps  :tumblr_inline_mzx8s4JRlX1r8msi5:

I just looked at the current seating plan. There're close rows in B block and there's not A rows on judges side (cuz there're judges I think))). Also there's not A blocks at the short side of KnC - cuz a space between seats and ice is needed for KnC.

Hey guys, someone did a much better chart of Chopin:

Also, now I’m kinda thinking I should just snag an All Event ticket on the right short side before the single tickets go out. Decisions, decisions.

It's so hard to choose :sadPooh:

I'm thinking to go for the left for Seimei and the right side for Chopin because I don't want to neglet any of the jumps (maybe Chopin opposite to the judges to snatch ice level) but now I see this chart and I want to be on all sides :13877886:

Of course I don't know which blocks will be sold first... better to wait for the seats I want or just grab one as soon as possible?

So many difficult decisions :tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid:

(Then of course there is the chance yuzu won't even be there and all my careful planning will be for nothing :tumblr_inline_mzx91uuLRI1r8msi5:)

You know, I thought of doing this from the beginning but he seats they are offering in those packages are not great. Only the most expensive ones have decent but again not great seats, so it does not feel like it is worth it
