Accessing Japanese TV online

I subscribed iSakura for 30 days with one of my old IDs. They responded very quickly and gave me new ID and password and added 7 days free to my subscription. I guess it´s an apology on their part for the current difficulties. If you have old IDs too, this is one option to consider although 30 days subscription is a lot of money.

Tomorrow´s show is on channel 59 on iSakura.

wait, I thoguht it was channel 66?

Channel 66 on Japan TV, channel 59 on iSakura (97 channel option).

Edit

I noticed something weird. If you look at the channel listing here  https://japannettv.com/wpshop/index.php/isakurapro-plus/ TBS channel 2 is marked as channel 60, but on iSakura it is channel 59 at least for me. Anyway, there are two TBS channels around these numbers and it is the lower one. Program starts at 13.55 Japan time and you can see Yuzu´s, Shoma´s and Yuma´s name in the program title.

I just purchased a 3-day subscription to JapanTV and everything seems to be working.

Make sure to give yourself some time to do this in advance so you'll have time to receive the code, download the app, register your account, etc.

After you pay, the authorization code is displayed in a popup box, so you get it pretty quick.

Information about iSakura for those who considered purchasing it for the next weekend.

I have a stream for the next three weeks. I was very hesitant to renew it for a month but knew that DOI was coming and decided to practice my nonexistent Japanese with it this summer. Now I am super happy about it.

Cross-posting from the Dreams on Ice 2021 thread:

https://japannettv.com, which provides subscriptions to iSakura and Japan TV has been showing this message for days:

Maintenance mode is on.

Site will be available soon. Thank you for your patience!

The other site where you can purchase iSakura subscriptions ( http://www.isakuraiptv.com/ ) wants you to log on using your Google account, but then says you don't have the permissions.

I Googled to see what's going on and found this Reddit thread with people talking about the iSakura issues:

It seems like NHK has the rights to broadcast the Olympics and they went after iSakura and Japan Net TV who don't really have the rights to rebroadcast NHK content. As a result, both iSakura and Japan Net TV are deleting their NHK channels, but they have also suspended operations at least temporarily. Those who already have a subscription can still use them, but there's no way to set up a new account because their websites are not available.

The ForJoyTV website still works (https://forjoytv.com/), but you have to buy a 1 month subscription.

On previous occasions I've used iSakura and been very pleased with it. Now that it's down I'm trying to sign up for ForJoyTV, but in order to do so I have to activate my account and I can't do that because I'm not receiving any activation e-mail from them. I have requested the activation e-mail to be resent multiple times on their website and repeatedly checked both my inbox and spam folder, but unfortunately to no avail. Have anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to solve this? I really want to watch Dreams on Ice.

My isakura subscription ended a couple of months ago and I haven’t been able to find a suitable alternative. ForJoyTV doesn’t seem to be available too. May I know what everyone else is using?

I checked ForJoyTV and it seems to be taking new registration, even though the website says "This site under maintenance".

Have you tried this site? https://forjoytv.com/forjoytv

Ignore the "maintenance" sign and go ahead and register.  Hopefully it will work for you.   I use ForJoyTV everyday to watch Japanese TV.

Thank you! I can’t seem to find a channel list so might have to just pay for a month and see if my favourite channels are included before I go for a longer subscription. Am I only allowed one version (iOS/online/Windows etc), or can I use different versions on multiple devices with one subscription?

Sorry to bug you, but the info on their website is rather scanty. Your assistance is very much appreciated!!

ForJoyTV includes all Japanese channels except for Fuji. And it’s good for mobile web and PC platforms.
