Hmmm, it doesn't seem like the Italian text was translated. I think that every post on here is raw unless you click "translate" yourself.

so you reckon everybody is just writing in english? could be.

:english1:

must thank mom for sending me to language school XD

I'm not sure I've understood it all (no translate option at the moment) but please don't get upset. I belive other fanyus were just wondering how come they saw posts in french wich was unlikely to have happened before

ok approche scientifique :

:grouphug2:

Sometimes I wonder if Yuzuru ever listens to trending songs out of curiosity. : think:

I am sure he does! Probably through his hundreds of different earphone and earpiece :agree2:

Hello, my name is Mandy, and I'm new to the forum -waves-

I've been following Yuzu mostly tumblr since Sochi (used to be on GS for a bit but I was never much of an active poster). I lost track of Yuzu's progress a couple years ago due to the COVID since work got crazy busy for me around then (medical doctor). The COVID is calming down now (over here anyways), so I probably have a very long couple months of backtracking to do... but before any of that, what's happening with Yuzu's coaching situation? I saw something on tumblr about him not being able to train in Canada due to the COVID? If he gets the vaccine, would he be able to go back to train?

I haven't been following Yuzu's tumblr tag as much as I should be because there's so much toxicity between the fandoms that I just kinda gave up reading the posts there.

And does anyone remember that post a long while ago about ONE OK ROCK and Yuzu? I can't find it again... besides Yuzu being a huge fan of them, didn't they do something for Yuzu post Olympics? I can't find that post again. :/ (I could have sworn he met them, but if that's the case then I'm majorly jealous of Yuzu).

WELCOME TO THE PLANET! I have also been a fan of Yuzu since the Sochi Olympics when I serendipitously channel surfed onto the men’s short program and was blown away by him skating to “Parisienne Walkways”.

If all of you don't mind, can you share how Yuzu has gotten you into learning more about figure skating or has affected your life? I am really curious!

Pre Yuzu:

  • A super casual figure skating fan who didn't know any competitions except the Olympics and only liked Yuna Kim's skating.
  • Couldn't tell any elements apart and didn't watch after (or even?) 2014.

Around 2018:

  • Decided to learn figure skating, which was my childhood dream.
  • Wanted to learn more about it and noticed that the Olympics had just happened.
  • Stumbled into Seimei and fell right into the rabbit hole.

Post Yuzu:

  • Became super motivated in following competitions as well as in my own figure skating progress.
  • Learnt the judging system and started to appreciate many skaters from all disciplines.
  • Travelled to overseas figure skating competitions (in the good old pre-Covid days ).
  • When I broke my ankle, his come-back stories inspired me during the rehab and helped me return to ice.
  • His 4A quest motivated me to land some (super ugly) 1A.
  • He restored my faith in humanity.
  • Motivated my Japanese learning and led to my plan to work in Japan.
  • Became more grateful to everything around me.

P.S. To be honest, I have never been interested in something for a long time if I don't know how to do it at least at a basic level. I don't know if I would be such a dedicated fan for 3 years if I didn't skate. So I was surprised when I realized that many fans don't skate. I guess that it takes some hard work to understand the technical side of skating especially for non-skaters?

Certainly being Canadian and maybe from Quebec you understand it? and ALL the writings here appear in English and therefore YES I am the only one who writes directly in French and you translate, therefore, because there are some who love what I wrote !!!!!! = what is the BIG problem then? and I will answer in relation to the Italian

Don’t worry about this translation issue @Yuzuwinnie . Please continue posting in French. My grade 11 French is not sufficient to read your posts, so I just right-click and translate them into English. The only French I remember are practical phrases like “Ou sont les toilettes?”, “Une biere s'il vous plaît” and “Voulez vous couchez avec moi?” And some other very rude phrases that I learned from a French-Canadian classmate.
