Regarding 4T... I actually like both Yuzu and Patrick's equally - mainly because they both give a different feeling.

Patrick's 4T feels 'powerful' while Yuzu's 4T feel 'light and delicate'.

I don't know... I may just be rambling. hahaha

Oh, I prefer Yuzu's solo 4T because of the lightness and the softness, but when it comes to the combo, I think Patrick's is better technically because his more powerful 4T leads into the 3T more smoothly.

I think Patrick's 4t3t is huge and beautiful but no too much > Yuzu's cuz Yuzu's 4T now is in the second half of the programme (can't say anything about steps leading to the jump), in shows Yuzu's 4T at opening was also a thing of beauty. But anyway I think we can agree that all Yuzu's jumps seem to be effortless - that's what makes them amazing to watch (and also have good hight and distance), of course some other skaters can have one or two elements which are better then Yuzu's (Kolyada has great 3A and 3Lz, Boyang has exceptional 4Lz)

So I checked this out on the FujiTV site, and the segment was really about the evolution of FS to the current quad era.

They showed clips of lots of skaters from Kurt Browning, Plushy, Yuzu of course, Shoma, Nathan, etc.

It wasn't really focused on Yuzu as such, though of course his clips got the most air time.

 

Nobu was one of the guest hosts, and explained the technical details of doing quads.

I did wonder whether it was an old episode that they showed though, because Nobu mentioned again about the rumours he'd heard of a Chinese skater landing quints.

 

And no footage of Yuzu's 4Lz, as far as I skimmed through the episode to see.

I would actually love if someone translated a program like this, regardless of its non-Yuzu-only focus, because history of FS with Nobu sounds great! But I'd settle for a video of it somewhere.

Aaaah, I see now. My hopes are crushed. Thank you for sharing what you got from the episode! 

 

On another note, I do feel like Yuzu's interview after Worlds that got translated yesterday gives us a hint of what he's planning, with the quads and the layout. He said he's not "training Lutz hard", but he has a will to broaden his means to express himself through skating (I paraphrased a little, but this is what the translation comunicated to me). To me, this felt like he doesn't have a will to extremely change his layout - yet - but he's getting ready to do it if the program, or the competition, or his rivals, require it. Kind of like:

I'm not planning to add 4Lz. But if I'll feel like I'll have to, then I'll be ready to do it.

Imagine after the first competition, his layout falls short to the 'youngsters' because he's 'playing it safe'. So he gets backlash from everyone.. (commentators/coaches/his-anti/his fans)...

 

Next competition

Yuzu's layout revelation.. add 4Lz, add another quad, maybe a lil something' more.. add 4A (this is just imagination guys)..

 

Yuzu: You thought I wasn't ready 

Yuzu: I'll show you your quads

U would think that Patrick practices it so much that he would know how big his jumps are...

 

his relationship with board is actually talked about in some Japanese show.  It is cuz he has really deep edges so the speed is too fast n he ended up traveling farther than he anticipated
