Can you imagine Yuzu going to a Regional competition after all this time?

Well, apparently, Yuzu doesn't even have to take part at internationals, if it comes to that. He becomes one of the seeded skaters along with Shoma, Keiji and Takahito. And that was an exceptional decision the JSF made concerning Yuzu - that he's already in though technically, he's not a last season's Japanese medalist.

Ah I see :D

i doubt anyone would protest the reigning WC and Oly champ skipping sectionals though :p But I do wonder if this ever happened before. I think it has. Non-seeded skaters don't have to take part in sectionals, I meant. Can't think of who on the top of my head. Iirc dai did not go to 2008 Nats but I don't know if he did  not go to sectionals that time.

people were protesting that he get sent to 4CC/Worlds after JN last year. So they will protest anything.

Let me rephrase this, then: No one important would protest...

IIRC JSF makes an exception for skaters who are competing internationally during sectionals/regionals, but this special seeding means Yuzuru doesn't even have to have international comps to skip the locals ones :2thumbsup:

Well, I think most knew and were aware that Yuzuru would go and should go and deserved to go. :59182a8d937bc_biggrin(1): Unreasonable people who think otherwise... let's just say I would not care for them haha

Yeah, Dai went to Finlandia at 2009/2010 iirc (he skipped the entire 2008/2009 season). But like... what do you expect... I doubt any sane Fed will not let the reigning WC and OGM go for Nats? O_O Also I think Yuzuru would go to at least 1 CS

I'm really just laughing myself silly trying to imagine JSF and the Regional competition he would have had to participate in, trying to deal with the stampede of people who would undoubtedly want to come to see Yuzu. I'm not sure there's any way to be ready for that. :eek_new:

During the six minute practice all the other skaters would be too busy staring at him to do any  skating themselves...

Oh, now I'm actually a bit sad for them for losing the hypothetical only chance of skating on the same competition rink as Yuzuru Hanyu.:drama:

yes, definitely hoping for a CS comp, especially ones that have good streams! I think Autumn Classic qualified for challenger again...?

Yes they did. 1 week earlier than last year iirc but around the same time.

Though I also would suspect it is either AC or finlandia ^^
