Damn... Some times I wish Yuzu had Patrick's frankness and would tell the ISU his real opinion :):)

He's got too much class for it...or he's planning a takeover of the ISU sometime....

Yuzuru was so injured at Boston ... I really can stand people talking abt him this way when he practically skated that program in one leg and thinking that maybe he will never skate again ...

I don't think anyone knew at the time. I watched again just now after reading her comments and I see what she means. His face was not expressive at all, which is understandable once you know why, but I think that's what she picked up on. She did say he usually skates with passion and emotion so I don't see why people are taking it so harshly. Her words about 2017, unless I'm missing something, were flattering, too.

Has she said things in the past to make people take her comments as assissination attempts?

ETA I see her love of Fernandez, though.

In slightly happier news, an article on the fact that Yuzu fans from all over the country are flocking to the Seimei shrine in Kyoto to leave ema with prayers for him, wishing him good health for the Olympics and for him to be able to be strong (not sure why it's suddenly news now but always good to know).

Can Yuzu come to Poland and visit Chopin's house or something?  for luck... :winky:

I think the post was made in response to the question "What is ISU's ideal skater" and in her blog writings, she's made it plenty clear she likes Javi and his skating is her "ideal." Considering that her son is now the guy in charge of the singles and pairs disciplines, it could be inferred, even if incorrectly, that her ideal has influenced the rules. While not exactly for or against Yuzu, she has mentioned before she was not happy with the way technical has evolved faster than artistic-go check out her 2014 olympics results writing. And her GPF 2016 writing was kinda calling it a disaster...

While she doesn't exactly go out and assassinate skaters, she has bemoaned the issue of judging-to which my question would be why the hell are you guys helping judges politik and muck things up more with the new GOE systems?  There is also this writing here: http://www.soniabianchetti.com/writings_2016gpf.html  go to the way bottom where she talks about PCS, make out of the proposal what you will.

Actually, I was reading her GPF 2016 blog and she was very complimentary of Yuzu, Nathan and Shoma there. But then goes on to decry the technical in comparison to the components and lamenting how skaters like Jason Brown can't medal. Which is not particularly wrong. I wonder, though, how her proposal of making PCS weigh 60% of your score would work. Is this basically raising the factoring of PCS people have been proposing? It's at least better than just lowering BV on quads.

Or create separate technical/athletic and artistic program segments.

This would have been a more interesting topic, should we take it over to the Skating Gen Chat?
