General Yuzuru Chat

This is part 1 of the General Yuzuru Chat discussion.

Believe was possibly Yuzu's best show exhibition. Yeah, it's a cheesy song but the singer seriously knew what to do with her lungs and vocal cords and while the choreo wasn't super original, there were some nice touches and Yuzu was so into it. Upon rewatching the Kanazawa performance, Dory's only saving grace is how much Yuzu is into it.

Btw, does anyone have a HD version if Hello I Love You from Fantasy on Ice 2015? I was on a show programs rewatching kick yesterday, and I thought the 2015 version had more choreo content than the 2012 one, but I couldn't find a high quality version of it  (media post links weren't HD).

Unless he's got two of them? :surprised:

Or it's hanging out to dry whilst on display! :9:

...I will go with the one option no one has mentioned yet, probably because it's the most boring one: 24-hour dry cleaning.

Chinese and Japanese use Chinese characters.  But mind you there are differences in many ways just like a trap.

For example,

手紙 in Japanese means a letter, but I heard it means toilet paper in Chinese.

愛人 in Chinese means a lover, but a mistress in Japanese.

As I said, because we use same characters, we have to be very careful.

I've heard many a Chinese-speaker (who speak no Japanese) getting done in by 無料. Like they'd see a pot of miso soup with that sign above it at a restaurant and not go for it. And from the kanji for studying, people have openly wondered if the Japanese find studying so tedious, they had to openly express their reluctance in their word for it. These same people also cannot wrap their heads around why carrot isn't 小根 if the Japanese call their white radishes what they do.

Or repeat WoW with Dory (pls no).

It's a tragic case of irony that the Dory costume will forever be associated with the word WOW :13877886: *stupid lazy acronym habit*

Didn't he say due to the INSANE bling level , his costumes had to be hand washed???? Maybe these weren't his EXACT words :xD:....but you get my drift!

I really dislike the rhinestones on rj2 and I feel like whoever made it went a little overboard with the illusion mesh fabric. That costume may even be passable to me with the illusion mesh but tearing off all those rhinestones.

I only used the acronym because I honestly forgot what the name of the song was. :embSwan:

Oh, it's got at least as many fans as opponents, the controversy comes up every single Costume Discussion (it's one of my favorite, but then, I've got lots of Favorite Yuzu's Costumes).

...I think dry cleaning works. How do you think people clean their wedding dresses? There's this high-end cleaners in the same building where I used to work where people (usually affluent ones) send their more delicate and pricey stuff, like gowns and costumes and what-not. If you can afford them, they are even better than handwashing, because even handwashing can ruin the especially delicate stuff sometimes. I've see a dress with more bling than probably all of Hanyu's costumes combined on the shop's display. It certainly made me think that whoever owns it probably enjoys walking around looking like a disco ball and feeling like they are fighting against gravity all night in banquets. These cleaners will also deliver your stuff to wherever you want it delivered. It's probably too much of a luxury and impracticality when you're repeatedly wearing something quite frequently but if it's a one-off and you need it done fast, these services are your answer because even pricey as they are, they're also the most practical solution for situations such as this one. In the land of kimonos, I'm certain there are no shortage of specialist launderers who handle delicate and expensive materials as a trade.

But all the ideas being thrown about are much more fun so carry on.

I don't think the level of respond RJ2 gets is as fierce as Dory :1:

I don't really hate RJ2, it's just too much for me. But I do think the black blending on the sleeves and the waist is beautiful, just that the boobskirt.. :shakehead:

Oh boy I totally forgot about the boobskirt. I also like the black blending on the sleeves and such, but that boobskirt and the rhinestones in whatever that color scheme they used and decided was a good idea. Give that costume to a tailor, remove the boobskirt, take off the rhinestones and voila you'll have a better costume.

I feel like Dory is getting such a response now is because it's new. It's been around for what, a month now, while RJ2 has existed for 4 years now.

I am a firm supporter of R&J2 - I love all of it, the sleeve details, the waist, the jewelled edges, - I don't even dislike the boobskirt.  I do dislike Dory because it doesn't look as though anyone thought it out properly - the yellow bit looks like an afterthought and reminds me of an old aunt when I was a very small child who used to use a yellow chiffon scarf in the slightest breeze to protect her helmet hairdo, the mix of colours is meh, the drapery across the back looks terrible in action on certain elements of the skating ..... just no.
