Agree with this. At comps it was fairly obvious a large part of the audience were non-Japanese (or maybe it isn't so obvious because many of his fans wave Japanese flags as a show of support). It's also nice that there is some recognition now of how popular the Men's figure skating discipline is at the Olympics. When reports on ticket sales first started coming out, they made it seem like the Ladies events were still the best sellers. Maybe next time this will provide even a little bit of impetus for organisers and broadcasters to allocate better schedules and time slots for the Men's events. Though not holding my breath since in North America Ladies probably remain as the default event to watch out for. At least maybe don't schedule them on consecutive days? And speaking about the next Olympics...

Finally, some acknowledgement that the Men's singles tickets are the hottest sellers at the Olympics. I understand very little Korean, but I'm guessing the news clip is attributing this mainly to Yuzu's popularity. (Anyone who speaks Korean please correct me if I'm wrong ^^; ) Btw, the caption at the bottom of the thumbnail reads, "Men's FS Sold Out" "Popular On Its Own". ETA: Japanese translation of the section on Yuzu Essentially saying during 4CC, it was like a home competition for Yuzu in Korea. Because of him, the Men's singles Olys tickets are sold out. It is also very difficult to find accommodation in Gangneung available during this time.

Official practices for all disciplines start on the 20th. So yes, for participants based abroad they will probably start flying in on the weekend.

Thank you for posting this here as well I'm really glad everyone is so supportive of Yuzu, especially in his current circumstances. Everyone is thinking about what might be best for him moving forward, and are being understanding of the whole situation.

Yeah it was part of the statement released by Kobayashi san yesterday. I think there was some confusion at first on whether he said anything about still wanting to compete at Nationals. I think there were some tweets that said he never said so. This might clear that up a little bit. At this point though I think most people agree, he's not likely to be there. If he did turn up, I think his fans will just come bundle him up and haul him off to Sendai, whether he likes it or not
