I'm not even going to say what I'm thinking that makes me frustrated...
-
I think your interpretation is really spot on! Probably that was exactly what Honda was thinking, but couldn't bring herself to speak for a series of reasons (among which could very well be the nervousness of being addressed by Hanyu himself!)
-
Thank you for adding that! I totally missed it! And yes, her brain stopped functioning for a good 5 seconds HAHAHA

Mmmh, approximately, Nobu asked her what she thought and what she planned for Olympics, and she answered something about working very hard this year, and wanting to work just as hard and do a strong performance for Olympics (I'm not sure if she meant at the Olympics or in occasion of the Olympic season). Then Yuzuru told her (kinda literal translation here) "But if you do it with all of your strenght, it's going to be okay". Or you could also say "Don't worry, if you put in all of your effort, things are going to be okay". So her reaction coul also be explained by the fact that there's not really an answer to Yuzuru telling you to work hard to reach your goals

Omg I just watched it and it's definitely a 'omg senpai noticed me' moment Who can blame here, her heart stopped for a moment...

Definitely happened more than once that I learned something and the next day I completely forgot. Especially with forward crossovers, I took, like, two months to stabilize LFO - RFO (I hope this is how you describe it), and it came and went from my memory without any sign of stability xD I was just so afraid to trip on my feet! And the spinner does look like a terribly difficult excercise for balance! Yuzu makes everything look easy tho

Wow, that's cheap and sounds like a dream! I'm stuck with Milan, which is my only hope, really. But the prices are gonna be terrible, I bet. I am so happy for everyone who's gonna see Yuzu live at AC! It's always interesting to get live feedback on his overall mental and physical condition.

I have to learn from number 5 on Yes, patience really is fundamental, isn't it? During this year, even if I didn't have specific goals in mind when I went skating, there were times when I left the ice with bitterness because I felt like it was a bad day and I didn't improve anything, and days where I managed to do just one little thing I had never done before, so I felt happy. What is an off-ice spinner? I've never heard it before.

Poor Yuzu, he should live moments like this one in private with a girlfriend instead of being filmed while being complimented by random strangers

Mmmh I should try, but I think I know what you mean. I will have to come back to you in three months

you went there... I honestly don't feel sorry for Javi. He's still among the top 6 skaters in the whole world, the best European skater in the world, and has been World Champion for two years in a row. Skating is his passion and he does what he loves for a living. This is already enough to make him the luckiest among many, so ruining his happiness because there is someone in the world who's better than him is just not wise. Kind of like Snow White's story. The Queen had power, had beauty, but because she was envious of Snow White who was the most beautiful in the kingdom, the Queen had to go ahead and ruin everything

How do you practice backwards edges? I mean, I know the intuition says 'same way you do the forward edges', but I can't really do backwards chasse, can I? (I mean, yes they exist, but they're hard!) I've tried gliding backwards with two feet and then lifting one up, but with my left foot I fail, and with the right foot I curve to the left without wanting to Also, I've never quite understood how much do you have to look behind you, and how much you don't have to. I have practiced 3-turns off-ice! I kinda like the motion of it, with both feet. It's just the ice that's the problem (LOL!) but I'll get through it. I've just been too shy to ask for advice, so it's hard to correct my mistakes when I'm not really sure what are they.

No matter how much he drinks and takes in the sunlight, his dreams will be filled by Yuzuru jumping from one side of the rink to the other, asking him "What about 4Lz?? What about 4A?? Can I do it? Can I? Can I? Can I?" *insert echo effect here*
-
Who says Yuzu isn't training 4A and 4Lz by himself?
-
Honestly, with his history of jump learning... his success rates doubled in the span of a Summer. It was like this with both the Toeloop and the Loop, right? Why not with 4Lz and 4A? Plus, I feel like with a safe Short Program that will increase his confidence, he might be able to YOLO his entire FS without any problem whatsoever.
-
I WANT THAT! I WANT THAT!
-
Such knowledge! I gotta write it all down! To tell the truth, off-ice I actually jump better clockwise... my strongest leg is my left leg, and when I try the Axel, I always find myself better clockwise. Even only doing a pirouette, clockwise feels more stable to me. I guess I'll have to study a bit from Carolina then!

His first rival's going to be Nathan Chen next year... so this could actually happen... Nathan bringing 6 quads in the FS, maybe even NAILS each and everyone of them... so he gets stellar scores even if his PCS and GOE are low on average. The day after the FS, Yuzu sits down with Brian. Brian's drinking some coffee. Yuzuru: So, about the FS layout... Brian: ...Yes? Yuzuru: I was thinking about- actually I came up with the idea yesterday, while I stood on the podium wearing a silver medal... I will do 5 quads, 3 in the second half of the program, and will add 4Lz as first jumping pass. Or do you think I should add 4A directly? Brian: *spits coffee*

Aaaah, I see now. My hopes are crushed. Thank you for sharing what you got from the episode! On another note, I do feel like Yuzu's interview after Worlds that got translated yesterday gives us a hint of what he's planning, with the quads and the layout. He said he's not "training Lutz hard", but he has a will to broaden his means to express himself through skating (I paraphrased a little, but this is what the translation comunicated to me). To me, this felt like he doesn't have a will to extremely change his layout - yet - but he's getting ready to do it if the program, or the competition, or his rivals, require it. Kind of like: I'm not planning to add 4Lz. But if I'll feel like I'll have to, then I'll be ready to do it.

I think my Japanese won't allow me to understand much futher, but still, I would gladly watch that!
-
The explanation is quite clear. I do believe I have an image of it (Let's speak Yuzuruese), and I'm wondering if it's because I can't skate backwards on one foot that I can't manage to produce a 3-turn. Or mabe I can learn to skate backwards on one foot through the 3-turns.

I need more info on this we need more info on this I am ready to sell my kidney if that means I'll get to see a perfect 4Lz Please please please please please

really? out of all the tutorials I've watched, I don't remember them ever talking about a change of the knee positions, except the usual 'keep the knees bent'. A video I watched was talking about moving the weight from the whole foot to the top of the foot, like doing a ballet pointe, just as you're about to turn, and then go back to normal whole-foot weight. Is this because everyone has different methods to do things? Aaah man, the only thing I know is that yes, 3-turns are quite hard for me and don't come naturally. Another video I saw said that the inside 3-turn should come naturally as you are turning on your edge. Never happened to me, I slow down and stop LOL. That sounds scary! Do falls after jumps hurt more than normal falls-on-the-butt because of random mistakes? I fall A LOT when skating, my average was 4 falls in 1 hour and a half at the beginning, and then it went down to 1 or 2 falls when I got more comfortable on ice. Some falls were more painful than others. Jumping sounds so scary to me. I've been seriously committed to do more than 3 rotations on two feet for months... never happened I also tried to learn on my own, so after a while I discovered that the most natural 'entering spin' technique for me was the back scratch. Or, also going from a spread eagle (pass the me term, it's not an actual spread eagle that you hold for several seconds, but like, you turn your foot into a second position ballet and your body automatically starts turning. I liked the feeling of it). Point is: I am an excellent self-learner with things like languages or history or theory of anything - but I am an awful self-learner when it comes to physical stuff I know them! I tried to watch their videos from time to time! And I hope you are right, and in September I won't have to completely start all over again. It was really hard for me to get comfortable on ice. I was so scared do to anything.

I'm all for a flat-edge 4Flip with 4 full rotations in the air because of his anti-cheat toe picking technique... just saying I want all them quads Yuzu, give them to me

My boots are definitely not professional, but they fit my feet for now, so that's already impressive, knowing my history with shoes a group of friends gave them to me for my birthday, so I don't even know how much they cost. Amazing. If I'll ever be able to do a waltz jump as beautiful as that one, I can consider myself a satisfied skater for life
