The whole politics around this goes way over my head but... it’s cool to see Boyang sticking to what he thinks is right for him. I think part of this decisions might have been that it would have been too burdensome for Boyang to train with Yuzu. (We keep on getting a utopian image of how Yuzu and Javi trained together but truth is even they were tense leading up to the Olys season.) Boyang might just prefer a more relaxed environment... it is not everyone‘s cup of tea to train in the presence of the 2xOGM.

SO I finally went the skate shop and tried on what they had. Edea Chorus and Risport RF3 pros (stiffness rating 60). I really couldn’t decide bc the Choruses felt a lot more comfortable but also it was loose on top of the ankle. The RF3s already started hurting but gave me more support. Are the Choruses supposed to be a bit loose over the ankle (in the beginning)? it also felt a bit loose sideways. Is that how it’s supposed to be? bc I am leaning towards them but I am not sure if the fit is right. The skate tech is clearly a Risport RF3 fan... He also said there’s virtually no differnce between MK Professionals and Coronation Aces so I am starting to question his expertise. Risport Royals are not even an option. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of overbooting lol. GOOD NEWS is that I could comfortably wear the boots on my ankle with the plates!! So yay I am going to be skating again this winter eta: Also fun story, when I told the tech that I wore through my old skates within 3 months he was so shocked. He said he‘s seen people break their ankles through really really old skates but mine were still new. He was like, how did you manage that?? lol.

Thank you greatly, we really appreciate your contributions

Hm I think the two major changes are that only one jumping pass can get a 10% bonus (last one in the second half) and they got rid of the required steps before the non-axel single jump. Did I forget anything?

All this ISU lovin After watching the whole process unfold I have come to the conclusion that ISU rules are just not that deep. It's mostly arbitrary wording and they themsleves don't always know what they mean. Trying to make sense of the rules is just going to make us loose years of our lives? It's like painting something half-assed and random in art class and having to sell it to your teacher by explaining meaning into it

Oh, so officially it was announced immediately preceding the event? That doesn’t make it easier for us now sigh (also, I can’t believe I can’t remember anything about that, at all. Must be part of my brain‘s efforts to repress all memory of last season.) eta: oh I could have just made use of my own post....

Thank you lots! But I mean, when was the news dropped that the media day would happen? I am trying to figure out when we can expect news about the media day. (Announcement of the date etc.)

When was the media day announced in the last years? My memory is wishy washy

LOL I just don’t spot in ballet class, it confuses me. 1.8 m......... But it sounds like you have a great coach. (Back when I was taking group lessons I basically had to beg to be corrected.)

While others need 2 months to break their Royals in it took me 3 months to wear my Artistes out. Sure, they‘re on the lower stiffness spectrum but 3 months??? anyway... (I respect your power to resist the temptations) How‘s your axel doing? Have you landed it? I imagine it’s a painful struggle
-
Hahah I would say the average European person my height (165cm) is around 60kg and I am a good 10kg above that! And exactly It’s not like we‘re going to grow out of them. It‘s ok as long as we commit to breaking them in and making our wallets cry (buy them!!!)
-
How is that not light? I weigh considerably more than you. And I just figured they‘re the same stiffness as Freestyles and I had a rinkmate who skates around as much as me and who is lighter than me complain about her Freestyle’s after 4-ish months of use. I’d just rather be safe than sorry! That’s interesting and kind of contradicts @yuzuangel‘s account. I guess it depends on which one from the Royal series your rinkmate has?
-
You mean shipped to the store? That's what I mean. I can get them shipped to their store and buy them form the store where they can mount the blades for me... But I think I need to commit to buying them if I get them shipped without trying them on. I will talk with the skate tech on monday and see what can be done.
-
Ohh I see, that’s interesting.... I have rather thick ankles so that won’t be a problem for me. Good to know Edea’s don’t last as long. Well, actually I want to go for Risport Royals, anyway. (@yuzuangel‘s persuaded me there.) The Chorus’ were just another option I had in mind... I might just try on the RF3s and hope that they have a similiar fit and order the Royal’s based on that. Has anyone heard of Graf Kingston Silver Star blades? I found them on sale and I’m thinking of getting them
-
I feel you... There’s only one single skate shop in our whole federal state lol Why aren’t they for your feet? I am also thinking about Edeas eta: And I just called and they don't even have Edeas or Risport Royals there They only have Jackson Freestyles and RF3s. Both not stiff enough for me... They said they can order whatever I need but I can't try them on.... If I order them there it will be more expensive than online but they are the only people who could mount blades for me so i'll have to take that offer I wanna move countries
-
Yayy which skates are you thinking of getting? I get your anxiety tho
-
Statistically Yuzu seems to do best when the odds are stacked against him! That’s why I am oddly calm and optimistic

Soo sooonnnnnnnnnnnnn but also not soon enough

Yes, we decided to change the theme to black and white in memory of Denis Ten who passed away today. You may change it back to your preferred theme. There is an option for it on the bottom of the site

This is unbelievably horrible.... When we’re always so occupied with worrying about skaters getting injured... My thoughts go out to his family and loved ones
-
Hope he can comeback stronger What are the chances of him making it back to the national team and competing internationally? He’d have to do really well at nats? It doesn’t seem like quitting the national team was a voluntary decision

They were the only pair who exclusively did individual practice...

please please please please I don't even care if he's wearing a hot dog costume as long as he has LGC hair

The common theory is that Yuzu avoids red since POTO1.0... just as he avoids CoC...
