I beg tto differ. Maybe my whole life I went to the ER 5 times. The last 3 times all happened within the last year all because of skating. Just saying. I am giving you an opportunity to back out bc once you start it’s hard to stop but also skating is so much fun and I greatly encourage you to take up skating full-time!!!

Hi guys! The banner contest voting was supposed to close already but because I forgot to post a reminder, we're leaving it open another day. Make sure to vote if you haven't yet!

Our rematch with the tea leaves – GP Prediction Game 2.0!
robin replied to Joey's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
I think I am going to participate consistently this time. I am really having a hard time with ID tho. Also I just submitted but forgot to enter my name for the SkAm predictions Do I redo it? or can the nameless submission be identified as mine? @Joey -
I have my flips back! Unfortunately it was dark so the video didn’t come out too well. My flips are different and much more stable now! Well, I am prerotating more and I have more of a loop-like technique now but that also means it’s a lot more stable. Miraculously I could do these after daring to try a few at the boards. I haven’t been trying flips at all up to this point so I am happy to say the least and still a bit in disbelief Got lots to work on tho. My arms are crazy. And maybe I can reduce my prerotation. And this is how my flips used to look like but they only worked like 10% of the time. Totally different feeling. I wasn’t really crossing my legs.

Does... he watch what he links? Is he using a bot?

“kind of cried”, yes. lol. I didn’t really see anything anymore after the last jump bc of the tears. H&L that day was magical and beautiful and I am soooo glad Yuzu could showcase his perfect vision of figure skating!! I’ll forever cherish that program
-
Helsinki H&L just bc I was there and I don’t think I ever felt more joy about a jump being landed than for the 4S-3T and the 3Lz that day.

This indirect answer.... is very Yuzu-like. But then again nuances might have been lost in double translation.

I am far from an authority in all matters posture but one thing I’ve learned is even if you bend your knees to a point that feels ridiculously low, you’re still not bending deep enough. Your posture doesn’t look all that bad and you probably just need to bend your knees deeper for starters. That will come with feeling more comfortable on the ice, just give it some time!

It would be perfect if the source wasn't by a fan
-
This specific one I know from watching anime LOL eta: I almost didn't recognize you but that's a worthy successor to your old avatar. Yuzu's lines
-
My posture is still sh*t but ballet class definitely helped! I am remembering to mind my core and straighten my back more often and it might just become a habit one day. Especially plie exercises help alot. You bend your knees while being super conscious of your knees, core and back. Also I am getting braver and falling more yayy

Thanks everyone for the feedback! We're looking to do something about the issues

Dont worry about it yet! It can’t be worse than teaching yourself and it’s great that you‘re assisted from the beginning. I bet your coaches are decent. Those seem to be pretty realistic goals! I bet your first waltz jump will happen sooner than you think.

When I first saw videos of my crossovers I got depressed. Let‘s not compete over who hs the worst. And OFC it would get better once you sharpen blades! Actually I found out the best skating club in our federal state offers participating in adult classes as a guest for a very reasonable price. It‘s a two hour ride and early in the morning (I‘d have to wake up at 5am in the winter) buttttt I might actually participate from time to time and finally get to the bottom of how I can fix my crossovers, my salchows and everything else. Classes at our local rink are a joke lmao.

We're over here!

my crossovers are sooo badddddddddddddddddddd

Thank you guysssss We've gotten both of your donations

I got a super painful blister on my finger yesterday and it burst... I think I am finally going to cave and spend 6 euro on a glorified hook.

Yaaaay have fun with them!! It helps wearing them at home with blade guards when breaking in. Also watch this video if you haven’t already, there’s a very specific way to lace Edeas: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xMd3EpUSFcY
-
@Murieleirum Hope you find the right skates for you! I recently purchased Edeas and just a warning that they feel like they’re too roomy around the ankles but with time it gives in to the shape of your foot and you can tie them tighter. But still, Edeas are supposed to be slightly loose around the ankle, like they’ve already been broken in! Also I skated again yesterday!!! Between the breaking in pains, the pains from the hardware in my left ankle, having to get used to the new rocker profile and being on the ice for the first time in 6 months I was a big mess on the ice. But also super grateful and happy.

Let me try to answer your questions: 1. If you pay from CC there's extra fees. (2.9% of the transferred sum.) 2. In general it's more cost effective to send larger sums less freuqently. 3. Yes, unfortunately. Eg. from the US to Europe that makes 2.99 USD per transaction. - I don't think that's something we've considered up to now! Thank you for considering contributing to us!

Guys just a reminder that we have a banner competition thing going on... and we’ve extended the deadline. So there’s another chance to participate. You might end up getting your own theme on the planet!
