  1. As an adult I think you can safely go up a few levels! and probably should. The recommendations are usually for kids who weigh less and thus have a harder time breaking boots in but also wearing them out. My Jackson Artistes were done after 2 months (but I kept on skating in them) and I know someone who broke down Edea Overtures in 3 weeks...
  2. Happy bday, Yuzubb. Wish you all the health in the universe. To another year of defying odds and achieving greatness
  3. I took 3 weeks off of skating bc it was just stressing me out but I am enjoying it again, even if my ice time is pretty limited now. oddly everything feels easier and I also had enough headspace to figure out why my flips were so consisten the first day I started landing them again and why they got all weird later. I also carefully started to work on spins again and I kinda manage 2-3 rev backspins now. I'm a bit terrified of ever falling on scratch spins ever again so I am being uncharacteristically careful. Still on my toe pick, despite my MK pros which is slightly discouraging. Also, I finally dared to do toe loops again. The pains in my left ankle have gotten alot better and it feels strong enough to do toe loops now. What's reallyy cool is, that I left off with a terrible toe waltz last season and I can do proper toe loops now! I could do one on my first try! Image training really works guys. Considering how limited my turn out is, I am pretty content with how they look. It feels great to be back tho I am also dreading my next slump already. My respect for pro skaters is x100, how do they do it psychologically?
  4. I think inline skating in general is no bad idea bc while it is different it will help you train the right muscles and balance etc. It will probably not prepare you for what ice feels like, tho. There are specific wheel set ups for ice skaters like snowwhites and picskates but those aren’t cheap either. I never tried those myself tho. Since the rinks around here close in the summer I am considering it.. but @yuzuangel has a pair, maybe she can tell you about her experience.
  5. Hey guys, First of all a huge hug to everyone. It's been a hard day for satellites. Secondly, not sure if this is any comfort, but we have reworked the two themes from last season's banner contest: Ballade No. 1 and Seimei. Just as a heads up, if you had any of those two themes as your default you may have to choose them again.
  6. Well, he‘s been interviewed by them before, so...

  13. I'm the same hehe. Even when Yuzu/Jeff/Shae talk about the meanings behind a program it doesn't really translate to the experience of actually watching the program for me. All his programs have a distinct feeling to them but are more of an abstract concept to me. sometimes I feel like I'm missing out when I read everyone's interpretations LOL

  15. Except for the two that were voted to stay and the Olympic banners, the rest will be gone soon, unfortunately. We need to make space for new ones ;___;
  16. OR he is just a perfect subject for photos and photographers can't resist? (maybe both LOL)
  17. Btw, I think I missed this but, did Yuzu go back to Canada for like one and a half weeks?

  20. I see.... so you're just using this as an excuse to admire him. jk, I know there's so much we can learn from him.
  21. LMAO that's one way to put it! I hate spins so I am totally with you on that. Jumps are the best. Yes, make sure to film yourself so we can perhaps help you and also bc it's good to watch yourself, as well. (That's how I coach myslelf lol... sadly I've got no coach.) But pls don't use me as a reference LOL use her or something. I am still a work in progress haha Also idk if Yuzu's sal is a good reference for single jumps?
  22. I had that stopping the rotation problem too. I can't see how you do it and I'm not sure if it's the same issue but in my case I was swinging too much with my free leg creating too much rotational momentum. the free leg has to create more of an upward push, actually similiar to an axel jump. When your leg is still beside you it has to feel like you're squeezing something between your tighs. And also make sure to wait a moment after your 3turn. Keep your free leg beside you for a moment before you start moving it. That lets you check properly and you swing less. Not sure if it helps but you can see here how I used to do it: ignore the caption bc at that time I was still doing it wrong but I was not really sure what I was doing wrong. It's too swingy and my leg is too far from my body. Now my sal looks like this: Still lots to improve abt it but my free leg goes up now and enables me to get some height. Unfortunately my 3turn is out of frame so my timing is unclear. eta: Forgot to congratulate you on starting to jump sals!!! Isn't it? so? exciting??
  23. @kaeryth is doing a great job at compiling everything in this thread
