  1. Happy New Year!!! (And begone, awful scoring nonsense of 2019, may you be a nightmare that stays in the past! And hopefully welcome, reasonable scoring of 2020!) May this new year be kind to you all and to Yuzuru! May 2020 bring us and him lots of satisfactions, good time and many reasons to feel that it's great to be ourselves and live our life Dear fellow Yuzu fans, satellites, mods and admins running this forum, it's now almost 3 years for me following Yuzu closely and in 4 months it will be Planet 3rd anniversary too. It has been a great journey with you all! It still feels incredible to have found all of you, you are one of the reason why I am grateful that I was ensnared in the orbit of our fave spacekitten in the first place THANK YOU!!! Here's to many more days of celebration for and with Yuzuru, together!
  2. Thank you @Ladysci @cronkite🙏
  3. x1000 Even just comparing ACI18 and 19, Yuzu was much less winded after Origin this season. At gpf he was obviously tired after jumping 5 quads, including *HIS* 4Lz, 4Lo and two backloaded quad combos...which is...crazy (not even Nate backloads 4Teu3F and when he backloads 2 quads one is a solo quad...and he doesn't have nor the richness in tr nor as big jumps as Yuzu... Nate's jump technique and programs are... "fit for purpose", I guess, in the current scoring scene get max benefits/cost) At Nats Yuzuru had been looking a bit out of of it in practice already. And yes, he had cleaner rt in fs practice compared to comp, but he skips lots of skating stuff in RT. Plus, he had been much more solid in practices in other comps (heck even in Turin at friggin 7am, when so many skaters were just skipping jumps, Yuzu did his usual drill and only jump that eluded him was 4Lz. In RT, skipped lz aside, he had landed everything and pretty nicely too... if you compare his RT at JNats he was much rougher). I found it unusual that he practiced not one but TWO spins in his FS rt at JNats. While he has, sometimes, dpinned in his RT too, and jokes about Yuzu (not)practicing spins aside, in hindsight I wonder if he was checking how well he could endure those spins (I am not sure if I remember well, but I think he said they can't really take a breath while spinning? So maybe he needed to check how long he could endure. This of course is entirely my speculation). Also the way his breath sounded while he was walking away from k&c sounded worrying to me Anyway, hopefully his condition will be better st next comps. It's clear his dysmina has been improving A LOT these past years and I agree he looked in great condition this season up to gpf. Let's not forget that he still has the most complicated FS: BV among the highest (+more backloading) AND the most complicated (by far) among the multi-quadding skaters. No wonder he needs more stamina (without even taking into account his asthma) Being fanyu is extremely rewarding but also not for faint-hearted. Well, in the end we are all (still)here because he is worth it, but knowing or suspecting he is unwell and suffering in silence really makes you feel powerless but I like to remember he still has people close to him (who must be so strong, blessed them, for going through everything by Yuzu's side) people he trusts and with whom he can share what he hides from the public. Yuzuru has his pride as a competitor and he doesn't want to receive pity, doesn't make excuses. While it makes me want to scream in frustration because, heck, some things are just *facts*, not excuses, I also know that this, too, is integral part of who he is (and why he has come so far) thank you @glilikoi for the translations and links Iirc Anastasia Tarakanova said that she had picked swimming for some breathing-related illness she had (honestly can't remember if it was asthma too). A pity Yuzu didn't learn(?) when he was smol LOL probably it's harder for him to "trust" liquid water (I know he said he would sink and I understand his body is..unfit to float given the high density of muscles and virtually absent fat, but swimmers are super fit too, so I am guessing it might be more a matter of learning the right coordination to stay afloat...) Now I think about it, improving my asthma might have been one of the reasons why I picked swimming as a sport to practice (tho I have never swum competitively) RE: what kind of training Yuxu might do to increase his stamina, I guess a lot of it will happen off ice. He only lists on ice hours and we know he must go for quality training (otherwise his body couldn't recover) so tons of runthrough and repetitions on ice to gain consistency aren't really something his body can afford, but thus far all the muscle mass he put on and improved stamina compared toneven one year ago show he has been taking care of that part of his training too I think on ice the best way to fo stamina training would be lots lots of stroking on deep edges (Yuzuru said he *could* skate like Patrick but took a lot of energy), but again, with the limited ice time I am not sure how much of that he does per week She is! She is underrated imo, since not many outside of TeamJapan fans know much about her and her works. (This makes me wanna throw some snark at one overrated designer who can just slap some white on a UA and call it a daythe amount of effort, study, dedication and respect for the program, and the research for new efficient solutions to make beautiful pieces of art that still meet the requirements of safety, lightness and comfort skaters need is...remarkably different) Does anyone know when the MOI extended broadcast is supposed to air?
  4. Buon Natale to satellites who celebrate, happy holidays to those on holiday, and happy day, happy times to everyone anyway! sending Yuzu all the good vibes and wishes! Back to more trivial matters My first thought was: 😱 My second: Eteri got her fan pic with her idol 😆😆😆 My third: "is Zu shorter than Eteri? (And tiptoeing to compensate?) AWWWWWWW SO C(i)UTEEEEEEEE" (In Zuzu's defence I guess Eteri wears high heels lol)
  5. Re: the Ph*l interview, and why Ghislain was chosen Uh sorry for having been a ghost in gpf threads and failing to properly comment on the whole thing, I am still struggling to properly put my feelings into words. And I still need to finish unpacking LMAO not to talk sorting through pics and vids Oh, and I miss Yuzu, but I guess that's hardly new and I bet I am not the only one here 😅 Anyway watching Zu go for the 4A was an EXPERIENCE even if he was jumping it like at the opposite side (but he nyoomed along my side of the rink when picking speed for it OMG I should have recorded it OMG just rememberd it I haven't even checked if I really got it😱😱😱) and 4Lo was beauty everything was beauty 4Lz is beauty beauty beauty and was in my side of the arena omg and FS 4T combos too and the most gorgeous twizzles 3A too oh and I love Swanyu, all of it/him I mean everything truly Sorry bye
  6. HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY YUZURU!!! Wishing you health and happiness, may you conquer every hardship, may you overcome every wall and sincerely enjoy the journey and the sight awaiting you
  7. I agree on everything but I'll fight you about the wintergreen toothpaste *looks at her toothpaste* ... I DON'T CARE REQUIEM IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SPARKLY SALAD I have skipped pages 'cause busy packing (and keeping updated with the gpf group that runs even faster than this chat) and I find myself amidst beautiful costume discussion nice
  8. I must thank Yuzu for bringing his smiley, adorkable self to break the pre-comp anxiety though what the heck did he put in that concoction of his? LMAO one would have doubts that there is actual hot choco in that cup... I bet he couldn't even take a real sip with all those toppings he put there well, at least he knows that wasn't his most brilliant performance
  9. thank you @sweetwater for translating Nobu's blogpost reading that, I can feel that the harassment came as something truly incomprehensible and unexpected for Nobu, I feel his disbilief and even, perhaps, his questioning himself to understand what he could have possibly done wrong. I'm glad that now he's standing his ground. It won't be easy in court to talk again about what is a dark time for him, I hope at least it will bring good things for him, as some form of "catharsis" (and hopefully positive outcome too), and for the figure skating world and people at large as awareness.
  10. as I thought, I have bombed Rostelecom I'm being quite conservative for NHK predictions... (if Zu exceedes my expectations, I'll be happy to bomb another round). Sad that G/F have no chance for the final, I hope Marco's hand is (reasonably)fine now. Most important outcome for me is that those who were injured and couldn't go to the GPF last season will be healthy and in GPF this time + please give me bb Rika in GPF too (less concerned about Alena because of her previous gold, that would also make her win tons of tiebreakers if needed)
  11. I believe I have bombed all Rostelecom predictions (minus ID) in a very impressive way (Also, Samarin, like Kosto, apparently is immune to my jinxing. Bell to an extent, too. Hence...I don't jinx...maybe)
  12. Waiting for a more comprehensive translation of the whole press con (since thus far I have seen only parts and google translate might not be the most reliable source)... Shameful that Kandai told Nobu they would ask for resignment of both harasser and harassed if harassed dared speaking out. Really says a lot about silence culture and placing more importance on "good image" rather than having a truly peaceful environment (also says a lot about institutions being reluctant to take a stand when the harasser is high profile and brings results) Nobu was brave and chose maybe the harder path for himself, instead of quietly letting go (and sometimes it happens that one just wants something to end as fast as possible). Just looking at how he looks in the press-con makes me angry. As for Hamada, I suppose it's another good reminder for me that kind-looking people can be as bad as anyone. Shouldn't Kandai now make her to resign though? They told Nobu so, and now it is public... Hopefully Yamato Tamura is, instead, the good person he looks to be, and can keep coaching the skaters. It's probably too much to hope skaters themselves won't be affected by all of this, but I hope they'll be protected as much as possible
  13. Congratulations to the medallists! Congratulations to Yuma for another solid FS! It looks like he's skating on quite high level rather consistently (which is a very welcomed bonus from a fed perspective too, I guess). Sorry that for Shun this was a very kuyashii FS. Even if I'd rather not have him do a 4Lz (though Shun's isn't the worst 4Lz out there... which says a lot about what we've see thus far), it was unfortuante that he couldn't land the jump like he did in the warm up. But glad he still got the silver (so it will be hard for JSF to let him out of JWC again). Though I don't like the game JSF is playing with PCS. Anyway, it looks like both the boys died on stsq leves gosh (though Yuma did rather well on spins levels at least) Sad to hear Kao might be injured again?still?? sad that he (and bb Azusa, I miss her programs) won't have the chance to skate at sr nats... but maybe he'll have more time to recover this way? (wishful thinking) Especially happy for Tomoe and my bb Mana! Very happy that she landed a beautiful 3A too, and I hope she'll keep slowly but surely upgrading her layout (and please wait before going for a quad) Congratulations to Mana, Yuma and UtaShin for the Youth Olympics! Especially for UtaShin, what an achievement to have earned a spot of Japan ID! btw, Shingo's layback IB in his singles FS looks very similar to JunHwan's (and Javi's too) down to the arms movemement...(still, beautiful to see, and he uses as entry for a combo wow)
  14. Well let's wait for Nov 18th, eager to have more info from direct source instead of relying on 'insiders' spilling the beans to a tabloid For sure, if everything really started because Nobu merely wanted to make figure skaters follow the same rules other athletes in the same uni followed, I don't see how could anyone even get mad at him... and totally incomprehensible how Kandai didn't stand by Nobu (A scenario that really really worries me, though, is one where Hamada might have been worse than just "strict" with skaters, as a tabloid suggested)
  15. LMAO how is it possible that, at each GP, predictions seem to be getting harder and harder? I'm trying to rotate my silver jinx among singles skaters, sorry for those I'm predicting this round but maybe they'll be able to do like Alyona and prove I am not, in fact, jinxing people Pairs is quite hard to tell, I'm still guessing T/M will be scored better than B/K if cleanish so going for them... bonus question are so hard the one about difference in placements between SP and FS...I'm being conservative in my prediction but I fear what can happen in the volatile Men field @Old Cat Lady just to be sure, by "single element" you mean the BV+GOE even for a whole jump combo, right?
  16. (I should have listened to the ISU PB list and picked S/K over C/B😭 lost some easy points there)
  17. OMG I love it! Thank you so much @Wyell! *runs to the group chat*
  18. This looks beautiful, I really want to see such a banner live in the arena 😭 (also, whoa, those other items...👀 do you mind if I ask you how it would look on a tote bag? I was thinking I need one for Turin and I wanted to print something Yuzu-related to scream "hey fanyu here!!!" otherwise I'll merely be wearing the plainest clothes ever )
  19. Being really bad not only at recognizing faces but also remembering names for more than a split second after hearing them, I support the idea! (and I am lucky enough that everything with the "L" sound is good to get my attention lmao I don't mind using Planet name instead of real name lol)
  20. @Wyell I absolutely LOVE your design To be completely honest the one with flags would be my 1st choice because..more colorful LOL but I am perfectly fine with going with the more "neutral" design with names instead. But really, it's awesome. I also love the detail of the tiny in the centre awwwww And Otonal pose really fits!
  21. I was mightly tempted by Seimei or it could be any between Hana ni nare, Hana wa Saku and Requiem and HYK... or he could go for PW's sassy brother LGC in the end I picked for ToshI live collab because... it could be everything! Something new, or KuriMemo, or Masquerade or whatever! the most important thing is that he skates in the gala because that would mean that, you know, he's still in one piece
  22. CoC predictions done LMAO men predictions are a mess, with no clear n°1 in the field and all the guys having had...fluctuating results in this season. Even in ID there is huge uncertainty for gold... curious to see if C/B can strenghten their claim and win then they would have comparable results with H/D and strenghten their claim to replace them as 1st USA team...GPF ID is interesting for the early insights about politicking maybe the less predictable of all the events thus far, the safest prediction is Anna's gold but for the other disciplines... even bonus questions are hard to guess My hope is that this season there will be no reason for it to be a Cup of Disaster, after SA scoring and GP France general...everything, I am scared
  23. This is getting way too easy to predict As usual,
  24. IDF predictions done! Alyona please break my jinxing, I am trusting you!
