Eeehhh... I think I missed that? Can't say I'm surprised though :space:

Just one word : The Church. This is what lack of restrictiins does to us. :wtf: That place is not for everyone for a reason though  (I'm still dying with laughter at the thought of the GS mods going through our invisible convos over there  )

Doesn't really compare to Ice Show announcements, or an actual Ice Show, or GP announcements, or - behold - music choice... Hehe, and at the other place, they thought we were bad. Now look at how bad we really are when we have free reign
-
Hehe, just wanted to say that too. How is this going to go once we have, like, actual news?

and US has 3. urgh I'm sorry but my salty ass just doesn't sit right with this :hachimaki: Ugh, don't even get me started... and that because the TP decided to sleep during the US ladies programs, because the carrots missing for these alone would have dropped them majorly. Canada having more spots then Japan is also a shame, but they definitely deserve it with how awesome Kaet & Gabby were (and I like Alaine, but I'm not sure she deserves to go to Olys more than the Japanese ladies who won't make it)

Me too please :space:

So true *still side-eyeing the WC panel* That would probably change with more consistency. I hate the fact that consistency is such a factor in scores, but sadly it is what it is. Bringing 3A + getting more consistent is a pretty tall order, but we can hope :pbow:

Maximum rank is 4A at the moment, but considering how fast Hydro is going we will have to add more ranks soon :rotfl: Well at least it's an admin that's at fault then

^ First time I saw Shoma live I was actually super surprised by his charisma and performance quality, I hadn't watched him much before. But yes, the deficits in skating are really more apparent live, and I actually think (comparing GPF 2015 to WC 2017) he lost a bit of his spark with focusing so much more on his quads. Maybe it's also that I didn't like his programs last season, I liked last seasons SP. Which is why I'm :ohno: at his new music choices too. But I have to say, all the love for Wakabby here makes me happy. I always thought she was really underrotated, but I see I have lots of lovely company here

You need 50 to graduate from Mushroom to Tissue box. After that, the rank increases every 100 posts :) wow hydro you're already at 400+ I bet half of those are in the church  And there is nothing wrong with that :s_wink What is the maximum rank we can get? Olympic Gold Medalist? Pooh bearer? Max Ambesi?

The skater also has to be able to rotate extremely fast in the air and have a controlled air position... this even rules out quite a few "big" jumpers. I don't want to be mean, but I snicker a bit at some suggestions about who could do a 4A. Nathan obviously is a great quad jumper (though I don't like the quality on his jumps, he does have 4 types with clean rotation, most impressively 4Lz and 4F with clean take off edges!), but his 3A is by faaaaar his weakest jump. It is usually barely rotated with a lot of skidding at the beginning, he slows down considerably going in, and he lands it on the wrong edge very often. That's just not gonna happen. It's Yuzu after 2018 Olys or far into the future, IMO.

That video really worries me too... if the title wouldn't have given it away, I don't think I would have even recognized Gracie. She doesn't look like her normal self in the least. It's not just the missing jumps - she looks slower, clunkier, her split jump/falling leaf look like so much work, like they are super exhausting to do for her now... she's just way, way out of shape (and I don't mean to judge her body with that - she has a lovely figure by any normal human standards. She just doesn't look physically trained enough right now). And as someone who's firmly camp "Frank was never right for her", I want to smack him over the head for all this. Sure, he isn't the only factor, but you bet the coach and him handling the "break up" so badly is playing a role. Hopefully Gracie will find what she's looking for, even if it isn't skating at all.

@ those photoshoots! They are just so gorgeous, and their chemistry is so evident even in these pics. May the queen and the king reign for a long time

But isn't sunday exactly one of these days were a lot of people post? You know, no work, hanging out at home after a long Saturday evening... at least that's my routine, aside from hitting the gym for a few hours :space:

I call him Averblah for similar reasons  (And because his interviews are a lot of blah blah to me, sorry potential Aver...blah supporters here!)

Then he better have his camera ready too :angel2: Happy first week anniversary to everyone :pbow: :pbow: :pbow: (hey, if we're hardworking enough today, we might manage 10K posts in one week  )

Agreed. Yes, Elena has horrible posture and she skates a bit jerky, but I just can't help loving this girl for all the commitment, fire and drive she has. And she knows how to sell her stuff like few others! Hopefully the growth spurt is over and she can get her jumps better under control again. If she manages that, she still has chances to make that Olympic team (and I would lover her to go to the Olys, but then I want more than 3 other Russian girls too  ) And it's great news that Polya is keeping her SP. I don't think the choreography is super amazing, but it's nice enough, and it shows her qualities really well. It's also evident that she really connected to it. All the best for next season Polya, please stay healthy :pbow: And thank you to everyone who's providing news and updates for the unknowing rest of us (like me ^^) :pbow: :pbow: :pbow:

Finally, the real important question  And really, despite having 5 options, I still had trouble choosing! At the end, I went with: Etude and Hope & Legacy for the beautiful colours and my love for ombre, Seimei because I think it's really special, Final Time Traveler because it's on of these costumes other men would look horrible in, but Yuzu is the prettiest little Elsa anyone could imagine  and then I had to choose between white pants and purple pants and decided to go with white... may the pruple pants and all it's devotees forgive me :s_whiteflag

And that IMO is the whole point and at the end what matters most. Yuzu just doesn't want to win stuff. He wants to win that damn gold with such a bang the other medals just shatter from impact and everyone else is left mopping silver and bronze dust off the floor. He wants to be unquestionable, completely untouchable if he skates clean. If he is 10pts+ behind on BV compared to the younger guys, than that's hardly the case. Also, we're talking about Yuzu here. The guy who will go with the maximum of what he is capable off. Also the guys that had a nearly career ending injury thanks to overtraining the 4T, cut down extremely on training time on it and came out with a better 4T than every anyway. My money is on: if Yuzu wants the 4Lz, he gets the 4Lz. So a + b = 4Lz next season. The only question is to spread eagle or not to spread eagle?

Haha, yes, Lori is definitely not worth her money for Satoko... she doesn't really manage to catch what's special about Satoko the way Dickson does. She gives her the generic pretty stuff and it's not horrible, because Satoko does pretty well, but it's not something worth talking about either. Dickson really works well with Satokos attention to detail, which is one of her biggest strengths, IMO. Agreed about Lori in general (I was surprised she managed to give me Boyang programs I liked... I was very worried about that. OT, oh no :ban: ) And I would love to see Wakaba with Jeff too. But then, I would love to see many skaters with Jeff, I have to confess. Her SS are super amazing, that's for sure. And I don't necessarily think Marin will lose her jumps, but quite often she's a lands-around-90°-short jumper, and that always makes me nervous (Maria Sotskova is another candidate). And I can't even decide a favorite junior (it was Polya last season, but I'm assuming she'll move to seniors). The Korean babies are amazing, and I lost count regarding Eteris wunderbabies but I'm just assuming all are awesome little jumping jack world conquerors with nerves of Adamantium. So Rika won't have it easy, but I do think she can keep up. (I haven't seen either of Marins sisters, tbh. I'm just slowly getting more into Juniors in the first place  ) Ah, one of these things I will forever wonder about too. What (even more) Mao could have been with solid basics regarding her jumps. So much of her talent was wasted there, IMO.

While I have seen both ladies live, it was at different events - Satoko in Barcelona 2015, Wakaba now in Helsinki. Direct comparison between that, I thought Wakaba was better. But Satoko improved quite a bit between the last 2 seasons too, so that comparison is rather meaningless. And I agree, Satoko has better TR as of now (although Wakas aren't bad), they're SS are on a similar level for me (though they have different strengths in that regard). Regarding CH, it depends on the programs... this season Waka wins the SP, Satton the LP for me. Both IMO have great potential to have great choreo again next season (I love Shae working with Waka and Tom D. with Satoko!), but I couldn't say who I expect to be ahead between them. The main point going to Satoko is her consistency, Wakabas is the technical potential. Honestly, I'm pretty lost trying to predict the ladies Oly team. I always feel like a party pooper saying this, but I'm not too fond of Marin. She has some really great qualities, but her kind of scary jumps always make me want to be careful with her. She's also not "my type" (I like powerful skaters generally more ^^). But Hamada is the right home for Rika, I agree - she has the jumps down but needs to work more on PCS and all. She has the potential though. I'm super excited to see her next season (Eteris girls are amazing too, but I hope Rika slays!) (And I ignore everything Yamada. Yamashita? Never heard of that name. Can't imagine who that would be  )

That 3Lz3T in the 2nd half made me facepalm so hard all season... a 2A3T instead would have been so much better - it would have even fit the choreo and music better IMO. Her 3Lz3Lo is never OT, it's always relevant  (I love -3Lo combos so much more than -3T's... shame so few ladies can do them that well). Regarding the PCS, I agree (don't get me started on Wakas WC SP, I was ready to flail judges personally :hachimaki: ). I think the only Japanese lady who maybe deserves higher PCS than Waka is Satoko... and if Wakaba makes another jump in Skating Skills and performance quality like she did over the last season, I'm not sure Satoko would keep up for me (especially since she has this horrible injury to fight through - which she hopefully will). Mai (and Kaori) need more complex programs, but I love her genuine joy for skating + her amazing speed. Yes, it was "juniorish", but it made me smile watching her all season ^^ They do! And as a stickler regarding technique, I'm so happy we have more Japanese girls with great basics (*side-eyeing Yamada*). I'm quite optimistic Kaori and Mai will both have bright futures. Japan has many talents, so who knows how far they can go, but I don't see either disappearing into the ether.
-
Maybe if she would have a really, really bad season? Which I hope she won't, so kind of by extension I guess I can't really hope for her to change teams ^^" but if they get their stuff together, I wouldn't mind her staying there either... I just hope she has the right surroundings to fully develop her potential. And yes, when they said at worlds that Waka is the youngest competitor I went because from her skating you could have never told. I hope she chooses something that fits her powerful skating style And then there is Kaori, who is also training 3As, and looking at her 2A I could see her getting it (hello, the entry? ) 3 lovely Japanese ladies going for the 3A at the same time = my dream come true

Hihi, Yuna looks so cute with those Harry Potter glasses I'm super excited for Young You joining juniors next season and completing the baby trifecta next to Ye-Lim and Eunsoo (but I'm also still depressed Ye-Lim was injured and couldn't go to JWC ). They have so much great potential, hopefully they'll all have long, healthy careers and continue Yunas legacy. Also, Dabin was really lovely at WC and I enjoyed watching her live. She's a bit reserved, but she has a graceful way of moving and something very secure about her skating and jumps - I wasn't worried watching her, and that's a welcome change from all the heart attacks my faves always give me  And of course she got them 2 spots for the Olympics! She deserves major props for keeping it together like that and being perfect throughout the whole comp despite that kind of pressure. Just amazing Eunsoo seems to be working with Misha on a new program. That makes me double happy, because I love Misha getting work (his SP for Anna was great IMO) and I think he could be a good fit to help Eunsoo develop (who's already a charming performer). Win win
