  1. Geeez, poor Zhenya... although I don't even think Yuzu would mind 10 kids. I can't wait for the day to see our former baby boy have a family and adorable little kids and be all super cute and sweet and cavities with them. Like Nobu is now with his babies
  2. Quick, quick, somebody tell Evgenia - girl is smart, she'd know how to use it! (But honestly, I don't even think that ship is so ocean-less. They're friends from what it looks like, and that can be a good start. Right now Yuzu is married to his jumps, but never say never... ) Same here. And it isn't just his jumps - he has charisma, he's fun, he has great audience connection. I love watching him Lmao, and now I have an ear-worm as well. Thanks!
  3. There is almost-4Lz-er Mika though *makes puppy dog eyes* If only he would have skated like he did at WTT earlier in the season... (not to necessarily push Javi out of European °1 spot, I generally like Javi and he deserves that "title". But I want to see Mika at his full potential + some competition couldn't hurt) Thank you so much @Neenah for the stats! Don't worry about the way you presented it, I don't think it's confusing at all. Despite the fact that I do like Javi, I have to agree, those marks given his season... I also don't think his programs helped much. His SP was worse than last season for me, his LP was one of the most uninspired versions of his typical LP thing... and he didn't look in good shape for most of the season. Hopefully he comes back stronger again next season, and hopefully the judges will reign themselves in on that front. And I'm surprised Patrick didn't get more 10's for his WC SP. OTOH, I'm throwing an official party that Yuzu got the only 10 for TR for his awesome LGC!
  4. Why not the men? A bit of quad-phobia kicking in? @mcq I think previously stated she might participate too. Which would make us 6 possible judges now, right? And just my opinion, but I don't think anyone should be too worried about "not being qualified enough". For me, the most interesting part is the discussions that could come out of it, why someone scored which way and if others agree or not, why they agree or not, and so on. It's also interesting to see sometimes if your own scores match your "just from viewing" feeling or if maybe CoP is doing a trick on you. It's an experiment, not a test you have to pass to be allowed to stay on PH
  5. Yes exactly. Like someone put his head on a different body (But it's definitely an older pic)
  6. Oooops, when I said Boyangs 4Lz pic, I didn't mean his head tilt while jumping, I really meant the pic used when listing the best GOE for 4Lz's. I mean... ...it looks so... weird (despite him being such a cutie!)
  7. Not sure if I missed someone else doing it in between already, but I recalculated their overall placements if you give both (or all 3 skaters) the higher placement for a single element in case of a tie. That gives you: 1st 2nd 3rd overall Yuzu 5 3 1 9 Javi 4 2 - 6 Patrick 4 2 - 6 Shoma 3 1 - 4 Jason 2 - 1 3 Adam 1 2 - 3 Mika 1 1 1 3 Denis 1 - 2 3 Nathan 1 1 - 2 Boyang 1 - - 1 So, Yuzu where he belongs - with the most 1sts What's even more striking though, and already visible in the original run down, is that Yuzu has the most mentions overall. 9 compared to the next highest, which is 6 (Javi + Pat). (Although the original page is missing the 3S, if I'm not blind, and given he's not doing one while the others do, they would potentially get closer by one). His biggest strength is again not just the quality of a single element, but how good he is overall. He's in the top 3 for every jump he attempts (4Lo, 4T, 4S, 3A, 3Lz, 3F) - nothing any of the other guys can brag about (for example: Shoma missing 4T, Javi missing 3F/3Lz, Patrick missing 3A). He's top 3 in StSq and combination & sit spins - so only ChSq and FCCoSp and camel spin missing. Meaning overall, he is in the top 3 for 9 out of 12 elements at all. Talk about the complete package PS: I took out Mikas & Boyangs 3rd places for 4Lz and 4Lo. They landed them, but with negative GOE, and I'm a strict meanie so neither get points for that, much as I love them. Land your stuff well next season guys! PPS: anyone else creeped out by Boyangs 4Lz pic?
  8. I'd agree with those saying that it's very open, but I think Satoko, Marin and Mai have a bit of an advantage above Wakaba and Kaori (who a lot of people seem to forget, but she has a shot to make it too, IMO). Personally, I'm not sure if JSF will really want Satoko above Mai. Satoko got that silver at WC 2015, but Mais finish last season equals Satokos last finish in 2016 (5th). Both have won 4CC and have great consistency. But Mai, while being less polished, has the big advantage of having superior technique and no big question mark hanging constantly over her rotation. What holds her back are her simple and "juniorish" programs... but if she gets good choreo next season and manages to keep her consistency, I wouldn't be surprised if she starts outscoring Satoko fast. Of course it also depends on how Satoko will do. That she's putting so much effort into correcting her technique is very admirable and I hope she can come back completely healthy and continue to work on that. But at least to me it seems like corrections like that are very difficult and usually take time. I'm not sure next season is good timing for her. So between these two, it's a toss-up for me, but I think at least one of the 2 will make it. Regarding Marin, yes she has the "advantage" of being the new it girl. Media has been hyping her since forever, she's marketable and charming. But her biggest problem will be that a lot will depend on the fall season, and she's more of a "messy in between but peaks at the right time" skater. Which would be enough with 3 spots or having at least one senior WC under her belt, but with the overall situation this could be her biggest problem. Wakaba on the other hand needs flat out more consistency. She is actually, in my opinion, the girl with the most potential overall. Her jumps are great, big and powerful, good technique, she's capable of 3Lz-3T and a 3A (although we yet have to see the latter in competition). Her skating skills are great, even if not the best among the japanese ladies (who have amazing SS on average!), she has great speed, lots of power, yet moves elegantly, with good attention to detail, good projection, good presence on the ice, good complexity in her programs as well.... it's all there, but she needs to get it together. Kaori is a bit of a wildcard to me. She needs to be very consistent (or bring that 3A as well....) and for some other girls to falter, but stranger things would have happened. Hopefully they will all stay healthy and can skate their best next season. (And hopefully they get that 3rd spot back at the next WC, a little less heartbreak for the up-coming seasons then!).
  9. We could get around the Yuzu bias by also looking at Events without him, or the other disciplines, like Ladies.
  10. As I said before, I'd like to take part as a judge (do we have to pass a test before to proof sufficient knowledge? ) I'm also all for picking some older events first and trying to get the hang of it during the off season - so if everything works out, we can start having "real time" fun with this once the season starts. Since we can suggest events, if others are interested too, I'd love for all of us to have a closer look at the men's event at the 2011 GPF. Off season throwback to our favorite Romeo, only 6 skaters and long moaning about the scoring back then included. Come on, it's perfect
  11. It's potentially just me, but Annas face in that last pic is cracking me up
  12. Thank you so much Fresca, I'm very much looking forward to that post! (just a suggestion, but I think quite a few of your amazing posts a being lost a bit in how big many of our threads are (not saying I don't like how big these topics are, of course I do!), but if you want to, you could start a new topic for that too. While of course it belongs to general skating talk, I just think too that your analysis' would deserve their own topic and the following attention ) @MaxSWAGG the fan judges scoring is a great idea - and since it was yours, how about you open the thread in the Skating Knickknacks? Not meant as an attempt to tell you what to do, but it was yours so I think it should be your thread =) Given I have the time, I'd like to join in too, I like scoring for myself anyway (and might have a few events I'd like to suggest )
  13. Of course it has other qualities, but let the poor girl survive! None of us would either, but we'll never have a chance at that anyway. Evgenia does, so I hope she gets it while coming out alive to brag about it *hihi* And yes, I'm on for that other option. Wasn't TM throwing roses around?
  14. But NS isn't fun, and I agree with astudyofmemory that these 2 would have to do something fun. And would you really want to give them something serious, where Evgenia would have to hide her blushing and giggling? That would be mean, dear Yata
  15. Yes, I have the same problem as both of you. It really doesn't seem to be related to FireFox or Explorer or whatever... but I'm still stuck with the same problem. Except for when I'm at work, then I can access the site normally - even with the same PC. So it's a WiFi thing maybe....?
  16. But that would be copying! D= We could insert her into LGC? The WTT head roll would fit in! Not sure she could pull off his hairstyle though.
  17. Just wait until she maybe gets her "skate a program together" wish, now that would be successful!
  18. Were you born with a tango/flamenco distaste, or is it FS warhorse induced?xD Yes, her SP was amazing - music, choreo, and performance. But I'm not sure if they're going to stick with a similar style, or go in a different direction. She often does. Even her performance has so much maturity (although I'm personally not very hung up about the mature vs juniorish thing, but for Wakaba it's quite striking, IMO)
  19. Then I'm glad I did not disappoint Not sure what to think of the program so far, to be honest... I'd rather see it as a whole before I can decide, I guess. But I love the way she skates and performs it anyway Edit: because that was one weird auto correct there
  20. Thanks for posting xeyra, that video is gold! Me, me, me, me!! *________* She looks powerful and fierce, just the way I like my Wakabby But also, girl, how are you 16?! She looks so mature and beautiful.
  21. Zhenya is a smart girl and I'm sure knows to bring up that argument too But you know, if not... since it's warhorse season anyway, she can still go for a Romeo & Juliet LP and try to be his time zone belated Juliet!
  22. Awww, that was so cute. I hope FaOI gives us a Zuzu + Zhenya + Pooh + gloves group picture :D he could adjust her hair again or give her another present and Zhenya can use Pooh to hid her blush from him *hihi*
  23. Yes. I just did it a second time because who knows if I messed up something there, but still not helping. I could open the site too before it was briefly down again (and posted in the Team Russia thread), but since it's back up I'm stuck on the old board, so to say.
  24. Hey, thank you for getting the move done and setting up the new forum! I have a problem though, when I want to open the side, it still opens up the phpBB board basically in the state it was in during the move (so, down, with all the latest posts showing the ones before the move too) - on both PC and mobile, and despite clearing the cookies. Only version for me to get here is by VPN. Any idea what that is?^^"
  25. Hey, it would only be fair, she gave him presents before too. Anf I'm sure Yuzu knows how to treat ladies. Especially cute ones. ;) And yes yes, get a no Averblah program Zhenya!
