  1. Didn’t Yuzuru say he will be getting new programs? That’s what I remember haha. Right now Seimei is definitely his most iconic program, but I don’t think it’s impossible for him to make a new program that is even more iconic! I’m with you, I like Notte Stellata as a gala 🥰
  2. Probably one of the best recommendations Youtube has ever given you? HAHA As for the skating lingo, you can also check out the Planet Hanyu Glossary! But tbh FS is such an esoteric sport, like I can imagine someone with no prior knowledge of FS at all won’t understand the score protocols at all and it’s difficult to explain everything in one go too. Check out this website: https://soyouwanttowatchfs.com/intros I would recommend to maybe just focus on singles skating first, pair skating and ice dance are quite different! Also maybe briefly know the big international competitions like the Grand Prix series (6 stops, plus one Grand Prix Final. Skaters earn points by competing in the Grand Prix assignments (the 6 stops) and the top 6 from each discipline qualify for the Grand Prix Final), Four Continents, Europeans, Worlds, and of course the Olympics! It’s all in that website but I think the easiest way to become familiar is to progress through the season and watch the competitions one by one... although this will be unlikely now because the 2020/2021 season won’t be like the previous ones Also look up Base Values and GOEs. In recent competitions they show the element executed by the skater at the top left corner of the screen so that will be helpful in learning the names of the different jumps and spins and all! You might also want to Google for the ISU protocols of competitions to check out the elements performed and the GOE received It’s a lot to take it at once so I think it’s better to watch competitions and slowly take it in as you go along! It’s quite a lot of information, hope I won’t be making any new fans feel overwhelmed!!
  3. If you have a friend in Japan, get them to buy it, eat all the gum and send you the empty bottle 😂
  4. Oh dear, it seems the video has been taken down haha. It was basically Yuzu at Autumn Classic 2018 where he unzips his jacket during the warm-up to reveal his Otonal 1.0 costume for the first time and the crowd went wild when they saw his costume XD It was funny because everyone was losing their minds and Yuzu was keeping a straight face X) Welcome to Planet Hanyu too! Hope you like it here
  5. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/yuzuru-hanyu-of-japan-warms-up-prior-to-performing-in-news-photo/1189464463 O.O I just realised in this picture... Yuzu is holding what looks like an Edea spinner??? I never knew he used them! I guess if Yuzu uses it, they must be good!! I also realised the design he is using seems to be the one with the bees (on the top right of the pic below) Such a bee lover 😂 https://www.google.com.sg/imgres?imgurl=http://edeaskates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Diapositiva1.png&imgrefurl=https://edeaskates.com/en/2016/07/04/new-spinner/&docid=5DvTWHVRNIZ3tM&tbnid=ZA7r-WSllf1_rM&vet=1&w=1280&h=720&hl=en-gb&source=sh/x/im Surprised he didn’t get the cat one though, or maybe he has more than one haha
  6. Hmm I think there are reasons behind it though! Like if the skaters attempting to help any other injured skater have no first aid knowledge they might accidentally worsen the condition of the injured skater
  7. It's looking as if we won't be getting any major international competitions for the remainder of 2020
  8. Yuzuru's life story is really incredible and exciting, almost like a story. So much so that we all agreed before his story may even be considered too dramatic for an anime/manga. But can I just add... you are an incredible writer!! I wish someday someone can make a movie about him (although, which actor can play him??). And what would the movie be called? Blue Flames? The Absolute Champion?
  9. Plush is Yuzu’s hero that inspires him, and now he is the hero of all of us (and countless others)
  10. For all the star wars fans here XD
  11. I guess this also means... in the event that the entire senior Grand Prix goes ahead, Yuzu won’t get to qualify for GPF? I can’t remember the GP schedule, are there 2 grand prix competitions in November?
  12. Guess we won’t be seeing Yuzuru for a loooooong time... it’s been about 5 months already right? Wonder when he will go back to TCC?
  13. He certainly isn't! He did say that since skaters have a relatively short competitive career compared to many other sports, he wants to improve every single day. We love one hardworking boy
  14. Alena describes Yuzuru as “incredible”
  15. Speaking of this, does anyone know how we can watch it? Will it be broadcasted and recorded etc? Thanks in advance!
  16. Yeah I think it’s possible even he himself doesn’t know the answer to that yet too. So many unknowns with regards to the future now, it’s hard to speculate anything... Although I often wonder - If Yuzu lands a clean 4A in competition before Beijing, will he decide he’s satisfied and retire immediately, or will he be like “since the Olympics are coming and I have a clean 4A why not try to land it in the Olympics?”
  17. I really can’t fathom Beijing being cancelled, it would be devastating for the athletes who worked all their lives to become Olympians. Especially for the ladies figure skaters, things are moving so quickly. If the current batch of girls aiming for Beijing (Sasha T, Anna S, Aliona K, You Young, Rika, Kamila, Alysa etc etc) don’t get to go, it will be exceedingly, exceedingly difficult for them to make it in 2026 because by then there will be much younger girls vying for the Olympics already I hope it doesn’t get cancelled, my heart aches for them.
