Team we're fewer but still good!

Mini Majorov jumping anti-clockwise and clockwise. This kid is becoming one of my favorites among the younger skaters solely because of his chaotic energy -

I didn’t particularly like Mishin before but I really respect him after this. -

Nikolaj Majorov's IG post. It's so nice to see the friendliness of the junior skaters -

2019 Russian Ladies World Team Selection
anski replied to katonice's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
I’m just gonna say I feel very sad at how Liza has been treated. She hasn’t had the best years and this season she had pneumonia and still managed to be one of the most consistent and solid skaters. I love Evgenia, but I’m pretty tired of the narrative of rivalry the Russian Fed is playing with her and Zagitova. Evgenia and Alina are undoubtedly the most popular skaters and as much as I enjoy Evgenia’s skating and as much as I like her personally, I’m sorry but I think Liza deserved her spot over her this season. I feel like the Russian Fed is favouring Evgenia and Alina because they’re the young, pretty and skinny ones that are really popular with fans and because they can milk the Olympic rivalry with both of them beating personal records in the SP and getting the same score in the FS and with the fact they used to train together. It’s crazy to think of Liza, who is so young, as a “veteran” but... I also think they don’t favour her because she’s very outspoken and political and doesn’t try to fit into the idea of an “ice princess” (she’s the Empress after all ). -
Just catching up with all the drama and... yikes. I never doubted the Russian Fed is extremely political and gross and yet they somehow manage to surprise me every single time wtf

Woooooow I had no idea about this!! I used to be super obsessed with Sonja Henie when I first got into skating.
-
Hahahaha both are supremely good boys

Masaru is the cutest

Same. Pneumonia was unfortunate but I also don’t think Mishin’s students fully realise their potential. I mean, Artur Gachinski? He had mad jumping skills and retired early after disappointing seasons (and he was Worlds bronze medalist in 2011). I honestly think Liza deserves much better.

It’s so funny that he put so much effort in the message he recorded for Javi but when he recorded the video for Laureus he’s like oh okay

Aaaahhh I’m so happy for Donovan!! FS is such a expensive sport he deserves every bit of help -

He’s a literal cinnamon roll and I hope to does to skating in Mexico what Javi has done to skating in Spain. -
Wow, now I admire Mai so much! My mum has arthritis and it is extremely painful, especially when you’re diagnosed early in life. My mum was diagnosed at 36 and she was already considered very young to have the condition so I can’t imagine what Mai is going through.

That’s... such a bad move. I’ve always liked Zhou (I never believed the American propaganda that he’s the best skater yadda yadda yadda, tho) but I’m gradually starting to get irritated by him and his coach. I know it’s not Zhou’s fault that everyone is treating him like he’s above or like he’s the messiah of skating bc of his quads, but suggesting that camera faults resulted in his score is... a bit rude towards skaters who actually scored higher. Just... learn to accept “failure”.

Laura Barquero and Aritz Maestu got the gold medal at the Bavarian Open! You can see the full results here: http://www.deu-event.de/results/BO2019/CAT003RS.HT

https://twitter.com/FSIgstories/status/1088250053955854336 The ISU actually featured him in their stories and he said he was also a fire artist and that among other things he eats fire, to the amusement of the person who handles the ISU's social media seems like Nikolaj is going to be an absolute gem just like Uncle Majorov.

Me since the 2010-2011 season! It was the first season I seriously got into skating and began learning the skaters’ names. My fav skaters were def Yuzuru, Javi, Majorov and Artur Gachinski.

Yuzuru's chance of competing until 2022 Beijing Olympics
anski replied to cinemacoconut's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Based only on skill I think it’s absolutely possible, but I’m worrying about injuries... 2022 is still far away so many things can happen but I’m very optimistic tbh -
Saw it on my TL ;_; it’s so sweet

Laura Barquero and Aritz Maestu are also competing, and apparently Valentina Matos also qualified for Worlds I’m so happy Sara and Kirill were chosen to represent Spain in ice dance. I have nothing against Adrian, but Olivia’s constant saltiness and shade made me really dislike their pair https://www.mundodeportivo.com/deportes-invierno/20190204/46195478257/sara-hurtado-y-kirill-jalyavin-iran-al-mundial.html
