Woooow amazing!! I have so much admiration for all these skaters who are elite while they study at uni.

I usually browse through the forum during my lunch break and it was a bit weird not having the forum

I know it’s April’s Fools but it was so cute how many people thought it was for real and they replied in support and wishing him a speedy recovery

I think there’s definitely a way of saying that Yuzu is underscored and Nathan overscored while appreciating Nathan’s skating. He might be lacking in artistry imho and his programs could do with more transitions, but he has a very good technique and, like it or not, he *is* one of the most skilled skaters currently competing. As you guys have said before, Yuzu probably does considering him a worthy competitor and the truth is that Nathan has no say in how he is scored or in the narratives pushed by US Fed. He’s a nice kid who has been very humble in interviews and who is working very hard and basically training himself. Acknowledging he’s a hard worker doesn’t mean other skaters don’t work equally as hard, and saying Yuzu is a more complete skater shouldn’t mean Nathan is a bad one.

Yea, still it’s disappointing how you can be a top athlete in a sport where other top athletes belong to the LGBT community and still be prejudiced. I get he might be insecure but that doesn’t excuse it imho.

That’s disappointing. I never liked the inspiration porn around his illness, but I respected him for his contribution to the sport and because when I got into figure skating I was very into Gordeeva & Grinkov (still am) and Scott was a friend of them and apparently helped Katia a lot after Sergei died.

He’s a Senior, actually and has been for many years! He just hasn’t qualified for some competitions unfortunately. He’s also involved with Javi’s Revolution On Ice show.

It’s weird bc at the same time they feel like they can’t wait to get rid of Yuzu. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad at least Yuzu got to rest and focus on recovering but it’s weird how JSF seems to want to get rid of him while at the same time overworking their other skaters.

And he was successful both as a pairs skater and a single skater. He’s pretty cool and seems like he’s a really good coach too.

I’m worried but at least he’s taking things easy. And to think we were all joking he went back to Toronto to train the 4A while Brian is away ;_; hope he recovers soon. He’s not done with the sport and the sport is not done with him!

Men: I got very teary when Javi performed Malagueña and Man of La Mancha at Europeans. It was a beautiful rendition to his country and his career and an amazing goodbye to an amazing career. Yuzuru’s programs this season were my favorite of his and I’m so sad about his injury. He keeps doing something different and he keeps being one of the most complete skaters ever. Kolyada’s Carmen is one of my favorite Carmens but I get anxiety every time he skates it because it can go very good (Worlds) or very bad (Europeans). Kevin was a surprise and a great future for Europe. Not my favorite skating style but I appreciate another European performer now that Uncle Majorov has retired. Talking about Uncle, I adore his Hey Pachuco exhibition but his programs are too bizarre for me this season (I enjoy the sparkly tie, tho!). His brother surprised me with a very energetic short (THAT’s how you skate to guitar music) but I feel like he could have done more with his free skate (I adore the Addams music). Shoma keeps being Shoma. I’m so sad about his performance at Worlds. Nothing has changed much choreography or style wise. He’s one of my favs. Nathan’s jumps impress me but his programs are a bore. Matteo and Daniel got me really excited about the future of European skating and I’m rooting for both of them. Matteo’s Ghostbusters exhibition is one of my favorites, as is his program to Queen.

Thanks! Sounds painful ouch. I’m glad she doesn’t need surgery and I hope she will recover very soon. It’s a good thing she’s already resting.

I might consider it too! It will prob be cheaper than Final in Italy and not too far from me either

Do we know what is she recovering from? I don’t think it was made public when she withdrew from Junior Worlds
