  1. I don't understand why people still use Twitter. It is the worst possible place for news or discussion. It is also where all the toxic people seem to congregate. Cutting out Twitter from my life was the best decision I ever made and gave it me piece. It is not just FS discourse but everything. That place is not worth it and everything important shared there will find its way to better sources anyway, so why bother. For me, sticking exclusively to the Planet after Worlds made things so much easier and I plan to continue doing that for the entirety of the Olympic season. I love skating and I adore Yuzu so I plan to enjoy both while I can. I will not let stupid people or media ruin that for me.
  2. Happy New Year Everyone I hope that the new year teats us all better than the previous one did (not really hard, don't worry too much 2021). Wish you all a happy healthy year and a lot of Yuzu skating and victories as well
  3. Not Yuzu related but very important so I am posting it here.. If you participated in the hunt for streams this weekend you may want to check your system for malware. One of the websites we tried (not sure which) installed a malware on my computer and I only found out about it by accident. Run a malware detection software on your system as soon as possible especially if you are a Windows user.
  4. Let Meeeeeeee Entertain you Let Meeeeeeee Entertain you The song is stuck in my head and I've been humming it for hours. I even had it as background music in my dream when I took a nap earlier.
  5. You should have more faith in him, he is smart... His current layout and practice today shows that he is being careful and mindful of his health and is very aware of the issues that stems from not having a coach with him.
  6. I came to the planet to check for updates, saw a ton of page added to the thread and I panicked. It was a 50%-50% chance of Yuzu finally appearing or withdrawing and I am so happy it is the former New programs confirmed... I was expecting it but I still screamed when I read the news. I don't really care much about the 4A to be honest. I want him to land it because he wants it, but I don't think it is worth the risk so I am happy he won't be trying it here. I hope he and everyone else stay safe and healthy The bad news (for me), I have a lecture when Yuzu's first practice happens so I will miss the reveal of his music and it is already driving me crazy. How am I supposed to go through my lecture when there are updates about Yuzu's practice
  7. Seconds after seeing the times for Nats , I am already coming up with excuses and lies to ditch work on those days But I honestly don't feel bad about it at all. I really miss Yuzu and want to see him skate again so bad. After the terrible year we had, we need this.
  8. Oh, I thought with how often you share Japanese tweets that you can read it. Thank you anyway. I do appreciate it. It is just sometimes confusing especially when I am just checking the planet quickly and don't have time to open each tweet for translation.
  9. Can you please write the name of the skaters in the tweets you share in English. Translation doesn't always work correctly. Thank you
  10. Mai It is so good to see her skating again and she looks so happy. I really missed her. Hope she remains healthy and gets stronger Not really fan of Kaori's program, but it is still early. She seems to be in good spirit which is good. Looks like she found her motivation again. This is by far his worse SP. Did Shae-Lynn choreograph this? it is very uninspired and plain.
  11. I could never identify the reason. I tried different brands and all the same. After an hour or so I feel heat in the place where it touches skin and it blisters afterwards. It is quite painful so I stopped trying. It is really not worth it and I can't afford to buy expensive watches just to experiment. Had Yuzu's watch been easy to buy, I may have tried it even though it is very expensive for me. But it isn't unfortunately.
  12. Someone really needs to invent a pause button for real life. I am missing so much in my fandoms because I am very busy Putting that aside and to my very late reaction OMG, I love the watch. I always loved wearing watches and used to have a collection before. Unfortunately, I am also allergic to something in the metal bands so I can never wear them without burning my skin. I guess I will console myself with the fact that I can't wear it so I don't feel bad about not being able to get it. But I really love the design
  13. I am really worried for Medvedeva now. I didn't like how she looked at the test skates and now this. She was finally getting healthy and adjusting last year. I hope this works for her and doesn't end badly. I don't really trust Eteri but maybe she will do the right thing this time and look after her skater's well being and not just focus on results.
  14. So, this is what heaven feels like I really miss his skating so much.
  15. The way I see it judged usually is like this: if all your weight on your hands and definitely not on your blades == maybe a fall depending on who you are Basically, your understanding of the rules if fine. It is the TP and the judges that have a problem in being consistent.
  16. He made the best decision for himself. As much as I wanted to see him skate, I would rather have him safe and healthy. His statement was very thoughtful and shows that he thought about things carefully from all aspects. This couldn't have been an easy decision, but it was a necessary one. I don't think he is throwing shade or anything, that's not like Yuzu. He is most likely acting as the senior and the most respected skater currently and setting an example so that other skaters don't feel pressured into competing and can make the decision to withdrew as well if they wanted to.
  17. I’m Notte Stellata, my favourite program
  18. This is getting very out of topic but I wanted to add my knowledge as a university lecturer to the mix First, about the expensive technology. Many Universities have research groups that work on similar topics of research, so buying expensive technology or resources is a good investment because it is usually used by many students and for different projects. I know I did that for my thesis when I bought very expensive 3D cameras that were later added to the research group resources for others to use. Second, the resources or references section of the thesis. That will not include Yuzu's name unless he has already published something before. This section is about related work and the methods used which he did not create. The data section will be all his naturally. This is very much the norm for experimental studies that use real life data instead of already existing data sets. Most importantly, I am very impressed with His choice of topic and technology to work with. This is a graduation project that is usually something very easy and mundane for most students. They just do it to get their degree. He chose a difficult topic that needs a lot of work and I am sure the analysis are not easy for an undergraduate student. I don't know about Japanese Universities but our students will never be able to handle such topics. It is too difficult for them. I really hope his thesis gets published and translated as I am very interested in reading it.
  19. To be fair to the ISU, there is no good and fair solution that would be best for everyone. The issue with the pandemic has been on going for months with no end in sight and many countries and organisations are trying to find ways to work around it. Aside from the pandemic, we have the problem of all the people whose livelihood depends on these sports and events taking place on schedule. There is also the skaters who need those competitions for experience, points, and even money. This sport is very expensive. I am sure there also a lot of things we don't know about that got affected because of the cancellations of the events. Someone somewhere will be screwed over with whatever solution they come up with. It is inevitable. So, I think it is better to wait and see what they come up with. Maybe this will be the push they needed to finally embrace technology and evolve I know you guys don't trust the ISU, I don't either. But the last few months have pushed as all out of our comfort zone into doing thing differently just to get by. The ISU will have to adapt. It could be a good thing. Change is needed for them.
  20. Love the design of the new theme. It is really pretty. But, it is a bit too bright and it makes it uncomfortable to use. Anyone else have this problem or maybe it is just my screen?!
  21. I am so happy to see Mai skating again This really improved my horrible day (or week). I hope she is well and the worst is behind her now I really missed her.
  22. I think it is fine if they keep the awards in this format (virtual). No need to disturb Worlds or any other competition. Just do an award show later after the season ends to celebrate it and the skaters. This way it would be harmless and less expensive for them as well. I think it will bring more engagement from the fans if they weren't feeling cheated by losing the gala.
  23. I am not sure if it is only me, but lately the size of the embedded tweets shrunk. They became longer with less width. It is not a huge problem since the text is actually bigger but the pictures and videos in the tweets are very small now, so I can't see them well without opening the tweet itself. It is a bit annoying with my slow internet.
  24. That is exactly what I meant. The award itself in not important. What is important is what they are using it for, building a narrative around N.C. to make him the undisputed favourite for the Olympics. They are basically building him up to be bigger than he really is just like they built up his PCs. Both are artificial and unbelievable, but also both will be used by the media and fans to defend any controversial results.
