I think the problem with Shoma and Yuma's behaviour that we are taking issues with is mostly due to us comparing them to the high standards that Yuzu set, which is a bit unfair. Athletes are rivals and they compete against each other for the same medals and opportunists. Expecting them to like each other is a bit much . At best they can be polite about it and try to pretend, but very few can have the ability to sell the act and disguise their true feelings. Yuzu is different, because he likes the sport more than anything so he can respect and like anyone who is involved with it regardless because they are part of what he likes. He also has this ability to focus on the positive aspects of a person and a performance, which makes his complements genuine and not just empty words. Personally, I think it is better that they are honest about their feelings rather than acting one way in front of him and another behind his back. I hate two faced people.
-
It is still a figure of speech, not a diagnoses. Of course Yuzu is not happy with how things turned out but depression is a totally different thing and I wish people would not use that word so casually.

I am actually surprise seeing the reactions here to the press conference announcement. To me it was very normal because it's Yuzo. Of course he will have one or the press will riot

I have few issue with this re-scoring: 1. The account claims to be a judge but there is no proof of that and I have an issue with trusting people online who claim credentials without proving it 2. There is no mention of what is the source used when scoring. They say "what happened on ice", but were they there in person or did they watch it on video? if it was a video, then which video? from the the ones I watched it is impossible to see some of the elements to judge them accurately. So how did they do it? 3. I think that the PC scores are low. I am not a NC fan and really hate his skating, yet I know that he is a mid 8 skater for most of his components (except TR). We may describe his SS as bad and his programs as empty but that is compared to the scores he is getting not that there are really zero content, performance or skill there. How I see it, there is a clear bias in this scoring and I don't like that. Especially since they claim impartiality.

He is there, he is safe and looks healthy.. Thank God Now, everyone back off and leave him alone

Guys, I am already miserable because of Covid, I don't need more stress or panic over Yuzu right now. Please only bring the news if it is from a reliable source
-
This schedule is impossible for me.. Right in the middle of the end term exams, and the time Yuzu would be skating in is when I would be preparing for the start of the exam. Why did I stay in the examination committee for another year I hate my life

Now that I think about it, Yuzu testing his 4A at JNats was a genius move. Not only will he get 10 different camera angles for each attempt, but there will also be dozens of programs discussing the attempts and bringing experts in sports, physics, maths, aliens, etc to analyse every aspect of it. And he got a new title and an Olympics ticket by the way

Yuzu has been taking an academic approach to his 4A training. He studies it and the mechanics of jumps, then applies the theory to practice to improve results. That is why he needed to try it here now. He needs more data to refine his methods. There is a big difference between practising it in his own private space compared to a competition were the ice is different, there are many people around and the pressure is on a whole new level. I am more excited than worried this time. Regardless of the results of the free today, what matters most is that he is in a good space mentally and physically. He is getting better at managing his physical condition and taking care of himself. I was also very happy to hear him say that he is a better athlete now and still has a lot to give to the sport (paraphrasing). He is finally acknowledging what we all knew for a while and it means he is pushing back against all the negativity that is surrounding him. For me, I want him to be satisfied with his efforts regardless of the results. That is more than enough. Best of luck Yuzu, we are cheering for you

Thanks... I feel bad about asking for anything right now after what happened to the planet today and all the stress I'm sure you all went through, but can you change it in the Unread Content page as well.
-
Can you please put the Upcoming Events at the top of the sidebar. It is the part that changes the most and is most useful as a reminder of important dates, so I feel that it should be in a place where it can be seen easily whiteout scrolling.

That was my first thought when I heard the news. That he practised the "easier" 4F to de-stress and stay motivated
-
I always said that Yuzu and the piano are a match made in heaven, so I am sure we will get something brilliant and magical from him. Very excited to see the program and Yuzu.. Get well soon Yuzu

I will be praying for a quick and complete recovery. This is all I can do for him and I hope our support can reach him and make him feel a bit better.
-
Why NHk...The one competition where there is no hope of watching the practices or even getting delayed videos With this, the anxiety will be even worse
-
It will be right in the middle of the end of semester exams and very early in the morning How am I supposed to survive this

NC expressed in that interview the same things he had been expressing with his skating and attitude toward performances for years. He also did it as ungracefully as he usually skates. He is the one who said to watch ice dance for artistry and he is the one who always drops the performance for the quads and "athleticism" (there is also the non costumes). I have never heard NC say anything about the importance of artistry or his approach to the performance aspects of the sport other than the canned answers of I did my best and I like this music. He doesn't even choose his own music. There is nothing authentic about his skating. Honestly, when I heard what he said I wasn't surprised at all. It fits very much with the way I perceived him from his actions and skating. He is a good athlete, I will give him that. I am sure he works hard and is very dedicated. but I don't think he likes the sport very much. He is doing it because he is good at it and it will look good on his resume.

Of course you will find references to Yuzu in media all over the World. It is subliminal messaging and part of fanyus world domination plan. Which, as far as I can see is progressing very smoothly
-
I am not too thrilled with the backed schedule but I think Yuzu learned from last time and will plan accordingly. The only good thing that came out from the pandemic mess is that Yuzu now have a good arrangement for his training in both Canada and Japan. So, he can choose to stay and recover in the best place and environment possible. Can Yuzu skip the GP series this year? Will there be any consequences if he did? just asking to see what his options are?
-
Will I ever stop bursting into tears every time I see anything about Yuzu and the PC Olympics? How many years need to pass before I get over the emotional roller coaster of that event
-
I love your optimism but I don't share it. The upcoming Olympics is NC to lose. They set it up that way and have been building the narrative for years. They even changed the rules to make it happen. As things are now, NC can make mistakes and still win comfortably. Only a complete meltdown will lose him the gold. If you don't believe me, go and check his scores for all elements and not just jumps. By scoring him the way they have been on spins, StSq and PC in the past few years, especially in competitions against better skaters like Yuzu, Jason and others, they made it look like he is actually that good. So, it doesn't matter what kind of scrutiny the judges are under in the Olympics, because they can always say "This is the quality of his elements, just check his previous scores" and over score him. The ISU have learned their lessen from the Yuna Kim controversy and they made sure a similar thing won't happen by taking control of the narrative from the beginning. This was obviously their goal when they changed the judging system. They wanted more control to have the champion they choose. As we have seen in the past couple of years, it doesn't matter how good Yuzu is. The judges and TP can easily invent a mistake to punish him while conveniently not seeing NC errors. I am not saying Yuzu can't win, but this is not his competition to lose. This is going to be an uphill battle for him and any other contender. Because this gold medal has been bought and paid for years ago. Also, this not an attack on NC. He just happens to be the chosen one this time. It could be anyone else and I will still feel the say way about it.
-
I think I do understand why he is more focused on the 4A and not winning a 3rd Olympics. Yuzu is in a place in his athletic career were he challenged the world twice and won. Now, he is challenging himself and and his limits, which is much more difficult and rewarding. This is why I respect him so much and hold him as a role model even though he is younger than me. He is not afraid of challenging anything or stepping out of his comfort zone.
-
The only thing I am 100% sure of is that Yuzu will never say anything negative about either TCC or Sendai (or anything really). So, we do trust him to make the best decision for himself when he can actually choose, and he doesn't have to tell us why he made that choice.
-
I think that he needs to be standing still to be able to perform this particular move adequately, which is not possible because he is preparing for the next element (the 4S). So, I blame the ISU and their requirements for the programs for this. Totally their fault for not taking into account choreographic fan service
