Plus Yuna's 2010 gold - he got 3 golds in the row And bonus (but not less important) Javi's bronze. Moreover: all those medals are for skaters who are from outside of well-established political forces in figure skating. Pure, undeniable victories over all demons.

Exactly. The problem isn't how the rules are set, but how they are applied and controlled. The competences and intentions of those who judge are the biggest issue. Also, they spend so much time for trying to figure out how to put emphasis on quality, but what they really struggle with is the definition of quality that would be acknowledged commonly within judges.
-
They completely lost control of their own system. They don't know how to deal with that. Example: the most recent attempt was to tell judges not to give too many 10s. But, imo, throwing 10s is not a big issue, throwing 9s for mediocre performances/skills is much bigger issue. Same with GOE. In consequence, Yuzuru got only four 10s for his perfect SP which actually deserved nothing less than whole bunch of 10s. This system puts the best skaters in the cage of its incapacity.

This is amazing! Thank you

Yess, Mama Tracy seems to be the new PR and SNS leader from TCC team She's doing really well. Best possible choice, love that!

Yess! Tracy's comment under Scott's IG post:

But wish them all the best! Interview with more info should appear soon. She mentioned in her another post sth about eating disroder and fat shaming that left her in tears many times (thanking her fans for support in all difficult moments).

We have a separate thread for that discussion Here:

Gabriella Papadakis expressed her support towards Nathalie Pechalat candidature and towards women who spoke out about sexual abuse. Google translatoin: Following the recent cataclysmic events which occurred within the French Federation of Ice Sports, I would like to publicly share my support for the candidacy of @nathaliepechalat as well as and especially to all the women who had the strength and the courage to speak out to denounce all sexual abuse that has been suppressed for too long. Sport must be a place of fulfillment, where one must feel safe. A great feminine force is being deployed, and it is time. Source:

And would that be fair? So, until 22 they will continue to reward what they've been so far and give some skaters all the candies and then in fall '22 they will say them "sorry, not anymore, go away"? They're going to break some people. Once again: if they see flaws, why they don't start to change it now? no need to wait, just use the system you already have

My favourite part of Yuzu / Nomura-san conversation: <talking about the dilemma with projecting performance towards the judges and towards all the audience> Nomura-san: In this sense, spirituality is something realy important. The evil judges... maybe they are not evil... Yuzu: Evil! Evil! (laughing and nodding)
-
Why not to start reward those skaters who already do that right now under current rules? They have tools on table to do that, they don't have to way till 2022. Weren't the same arguments presented two years ago? Or no, wait, they have to give olympic golds their already promised first... Maybe they hope Yuzu&co will help cover the costs. Then they can go ahead with all crazy ideas, nothing to loose - hit or miss.
-
Exactly. I have zero believe it will be implemented reasonably if it won't be combined with some radical changes in the way how judges are managed and left without any controling system. First they should do HR airing and deep analysis what is failing and what are the reasons. I already feel for those young skaters, current juniors (14-17), cause they'll be the main victims of this wind shift. Also, ISU please first tell it laudly, that your recent change was a big failure and you're sorry.

Wakaba's IG update. Don't know about you, but I love her style. Neon green seems to be the hottest trend

J*ckie has his flaws but this tweet exactly shows Yuzu's greatness. Whenever I hear some music which is overused in skating I'm like 'uhmmm again, please save me' (even if the music is not bad). But this peace can only bring chills based on immidiate associations with witnessing masterpiece and deep breathtaking art experience, no matter how many time it has been seen/heard. Edit: One more comment towards recycling discussion - no matter how many times Yuzu will repeat this program, when he skates it like he did at 4CC I'm gonna rewatch it another 1000 times and for sure I'm not alone in this house Never enough.
-
Probably becuase the other videos were reposted by some big official accounts (like IGs of skaters that appeared on them, Feds accounts etc). Yuzu's OIP videos have been reposted only by fans' accounts and oc not by himself But they are also spread on Twitter etc, so those numbers of views do not show all the follow-up. Also, when he published it for the first time the numbers were huge, but then he had to take it off due some legal issues.
-
Jordan aka On Ice Perspective uploaded on his IG another great version of Yuzu's Parisienne Walkways practise from Skate Canada. Second part this time. Let's give it some views and likes it deserves
-
Why even to go there if you can spend that time (and clicks) watching Yuzu skating or goofing around?
-
And some people still dare to say that not everything is about Yuzuru...

Team we're fewer but still good!
rubyblue replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
Yes, she's very charming but also very mature. I really like that's she's not afraid to express her opinion very honestly but being respectful at the same time. There're also some parts of the interview not inculed in this translation, be she told a lot of things about moving to Poland and then to Canada - living there alone, which were very touching imo. She's strong and brave. -

Here's translation of recent interview with Ekaterina Kurakova. It's really interesting, she was very open and honest about all the hardships that followed her transition to representing Poland. https://fs-gossips.com/ekaterina-kurakova-russian-skaters-have-a-short-career-and-i-want-to-be-remembered-in-this-sport/ -
