  1. Yes, but I saw how they skated and it's actually very suprising for me - judging by what I saw. Their scores at international comps were also very high imo (but much lower than today). They are very far from the level of Ushakova&Nekrasov and Shaneva&Naryzhny, definitely more far than 1 point. Also, giving them score which is higher than personal best of Nguyen/Kolesnik or Kazakova/Reviva is a choice i - even considering national inflation.
  2. I've just checked the results of rhytm dance in Russian Jr Nationals. Diana (Eteri's daughter) and Gleb got 70 points and are in 3rd place (less than 1 point behind first and second team). What can I say.
  3. Well... I really hate the fact that this biased, corrupted and moreover - unstable, aleatory, ill-considered judging system (alongside with its genius creator ISU) made the most authentic, natural, pure, talented and apprieciated by the audience figure skater ever doubt about his skating identity. After 10 seasons of competitive experience at senior level. Quite an accomplishment. Bravo. His home fed also contributed to that. Optimistic thing is that this skater can reinvent himself as nobody else (unlike ISU who can't improve a single thing in 25 years).
  4. OMG, I can totally imagine that, knowing how spontaneous and empathic Katya is :)) I'm not crying..
  5. Yes, it was great in men field. But if you look into women field, that was a time when some absurdies started to happen like Evgenia's domination due to huge overscoring - they gave her all the candies at 15, 16. No one could beat her then (even with similar jumping content). It was the first act. And it didn't give her any favor in her career development - looking at what she has to deal with right now. She's developed her skating skills a lot, performance quality and maturity but I think she'll never get those PCS and GOE candies again whatever she'll do.
  6. This is disgusting. He's a shameless, insolent monster.
  7. I can totally relate. Euros were a tragedy and left no hope. I have no believe in ISU, unless it undergoes a thorough reform. On the other hand I can't help but still fall in love with some new skaters and really want to support them (like Shun or Utashin lately). But it's very hard to do when you're almost 100% sure that their efforts won't get its due reward because of politics and bias (internationally but in many cases in domestic fed as well). That's why I hate when some people (like J*ckie) say that Yuzu's fans are not the real fans of the sport if they will leave it after his retirement. In my case, I came back to the sport after discovering Yuzu and got involved more than ever, have many other skaters who I support, but the frames and its injustice became ubereable, particulary in last two seasons. I'm afraid to engage in anything rn, because of the frustration it gives. And sorry but I can't be excited just about amount of quads without human context. I get involved with skaters, their charisma, their emotions, their characters, I love to watch their development over the seasons and not just their tricks.
  8. That could be true, but we have to remember, that judges very often reevaluate many GOEs after the performance when they have some time for replays. So, we don't know 100%, maybe if he went clean some of those GOE's would be slightly higher or maybe they played them slightly lower while reevaluating the whole performance with major mistake (impression was affected by that, so they took harsher approach). I'm not defending judges, just want to mark that with this instability of the judging system - it's hard to have clear conclusions.
  9. It looks like this time he dediced that it would be better to follow his own heart than all that ISU and media b*llsh*t. He should always do what he loves. Good choice, I stan that. Nothing counts more in this sport that authenticity and true passion. That comes beyond any score.
  10. With this way of thinking there's no other option but retirement for him. I don't agree with you. I think they will give gold in Montreal to the one of them who will have cleaner skate. If both skate super clean, it would be the decision of the day, based on energy in the arena, set of judges and their mood and most of all - performance momentum which they both will be able to create there. It can go anyway imo and probably some minor accidental things will decide. Actually, clean skating of Nate won;t be that suprasing, so clean skate of Yuzu can be perceived as more exiting This system and its execution is really so stupid and illogical, that you can break all the narration in 5 minutes if you will create a moment of excitement.
  11. No need to, they showed nothing. Just some old stuff to have a good segment to show more advertisments
  12. I don't understand much bo so far it looks like compilation of old clips from previous comps (interviews after Jnats, quad axel attempts at GPF etc)
  13. Ehm, I agree. It's not a cheese I like either
  14. Exactly, they chose strategy. It's been working well so why risk to change it? It doesn't work for most of the audience, but who cares. Maybe they will start to care when Yuzu'll retire and audience won't be there no longer though ( by "they" - I mean ISU people who create the frames of the sport by sending the message what is rewarded at the time)
  15. Yes, I think so. At COR he landed 4lutz but then tripled 4loop if I remember well
  16. Also, of course there will be a lot of criticism becuase of repeating old programs. But if you look into details, Yuzuru's programs are actually real 4-minutes programs (still having 4-5 quads), when Nate (and most other quadsters) has a new program every season, but this program it's actually starting pose + step sq + choreo sq, so it's like 30-40 seconds of new stuff and some choreography, the composition of the rest is just jumps, spins (which are not special, just done correctly), crossovers and simple hands movements - no dynamic, no emotions, no complexity in terms of performance and no story-telling in that part at all. I don't think we will ever see Nathan perform to some difficult piece of music (like Rachmaninoff, Chopin or anything with this kind of complexity). He doesn't have skills and skating charisma to handle music like that. He goes for much more simply composed pieces to create some short-time excitment by easy tricks. In fact, he doesn't recycle, becuase those programs don't have enough impact to create excitment longer than one season and don't have ingridients to longer development.
  17. Sad thing is that Nathan's choreo sq is "so impactful" mostly because it's such a contrast to the emptiness of everything before it. Fact that you can perform only in 10-15 seconds of 4 minutes program and still get high 9 in PCS is so unfair and annoying.
  18. After first shock, I'm actually happy that I'll be able to see Chopin and Seimei again. Those programs are gems and never get old. Chopin 4.0. is still super exciting, this program is a perfection. Always gives me chills. Yuzu + Chopin is a great match and we don't see such a sofisticated stuff a lot recently in FS. Yuzu's top quality in skating deserves some top quality music. And while I liked both Otonal and Origin (as programs) I think both pieces of musics are nowhere near as complex, multivariate and well-constructed as Ballade and Seimei.
  19. Yes, me too. It was a local comp that doesn't define anything, so I think it's a proper place to try new thing. Some people are very harsh to her about it, but I think the goal for her was to break a fear to attempt it outside of her training place in front of the audience but not necessarily to nail it. She has to start somewhere. Breaking a fear is a very important step to learn sth. It gives you perspective and empower to further work. Also, it didn't affect the rest of the program which she skated clean (or cleanish, not sure), so I hope it can only help her confidence. But isn't it a standard for women' quads? And even for men. I see many overrotated triples ratified by tech panels as real quads in big international events, so...
  20. About typo: there's note on 4CC ISU site, that there was an update introduced today. I wonder, why would they edit Yuzu's bio if no changes where needed? IIt's strange. On the other hand, it's ISU, so any kind of nonsense is possible.
  21. English version of Guillaume statement: Gabi&Gui It's certainly not easy to say that as active athletes from French fed. I'm very greatful for that.
  22. Maybe he's like.. "I'm sick of those tributes to the others, let's be honest for once - it's high the time to make a tribute to myself and remind them all who's the goat!"
  23. If that's not a miskate, I'm curious if he'll recycle costumes as well.
