  1. And I've been really enjoying peacefully this boring, lazy, sunny Saturday... thank you, Yuzu.
  2. Whaaat?! He's really crazy, can he once let us sleep peacefully? I wonder if it's only for this comp (since it's Korea, Pyeonchang memories etc.) or if he plans to bring it to worlds either.
  3. My money is on Deniss when it comes to mentioned language challenge
  4. Wow, Kao-chan, gutsy girl! I can see it happens, knowing how powerful skater she is:
  5. I actually see a problem in the fact that he thoughtlessly allowed himself to say (publicly to international press) what he saw in traning - training is training - I think a big international star as Shoma (or any other, even less eccomplished skater) should have some level of confidentiality in that process, especially that he was in the new environment only for a trial. That's maybe not a big thing, but imo it's bad manner that is noteworthy. There are some basic ethical principles in training environment that should implemented. But is says more about coaching team that Samsonov, he oc wasn't probably aware that he kind of shaded Shoma, but this unawareness is telling. Also, I don't think that saying by young TCC skaters that Yuzu is focused and quite distant in terms of communication is analogous example - it has nothing to do with pointing out his weaknesses in training process. Imagine e.g. if Joseph or Katia said as a fun fact about Yuzu that he's terrible at the gym and struggles at choreo lessons. I can see the storm it would cause
  6. I'm so sick of this. Every single time something appears, there's no other reaction than denial. Do they think that we're going to believe that all those stories are fabricated?
  7. Yep, I don;'t think he was intentionally disrespectful, probably he just found it was funny fact about Shoma to share. But it shows that those young athletes are not taught what kind of stuff can/shouldn;t be said publicly and also they are not taugth some basic ethical rules towards their training mates. Yes, they are young but at the same time they are pushed to the top, pushed to be popular, to be little stars, to talk to international press at young age so I think we as the audience can demand at least decent standards from them and moreover from the adults behind them and not defend all the time because of their young age. Also, seeing how coaches from this camp don't hold back with comments about the athletes that left them or didn't stay - those kids don't have great examples to follow.
  8. I'm very far for being Shoma stan, but when I see junior skater openly critisizing much more accomplished senior skater (who he even called idol on another occasion), I'm like.. where are your manners, kid? Btw. I hate that they bring to the public (behind people backs) details from training environment which should be rather safe space for athletes. Shoma was there only for trial, he didn't have to be familiar with all the specifics of Sambo's training model. 9. Another terryfing stories connected to sexual abuse problem in figure skating. Please check the whole thread to get more details:
  10. Very sad and concerning. Was it worthy to learn 4 toeloop if she couldn't not only show it even once but also can't show anything else anymore (as a single skater)? How many kids they have to break in the sake of efficiency of this champions factory? Wish her beautiful career as an ice dancer though. Hope it will be rewarding for her.
  11. I enjoy every minute of him as he continues to compete and of course I would really love if he can make it to Beijing to have this big finale of his wonderful career (even if he doesn't win there, although I know he's not on the same page with that ). At the same time, I'm more and more calm with the fact that he's going to retire sooner or later since I realized that retiring from compiting will not mean retiring from skating and certainly not from the audience. I'm pretty sure, that he will be not less devoted to his work as a perfomer than he's as a competitor and I truly believe that artistically the best of him we will see in that era of his career. Just imagine what kind of programs he will be able to deliver when he practises them properly without a neccesity to land 4-5 quads in the row and count some stupid features in the spins or steps. And we will be able to enjoy them fully, without all those nerves and distractions. What a treat is yet to come.
  12. I know, I think the same, but I think they send her there for her PR in Poland as new representative in her first season after transfer. Obviously, she doesn't have to prove anything as a skater, considering the field we have. And we don't know how exactly works internal politics in polish fed (I would expect a mess ), so maybe it's necessary. It's also good chance to get some local skating fans behind her (although, tbh, I don't think there will be a lot of people in the audience).
  13. Here is my translation of few quotes from the interview with Katia Kurakowa, after her SP and free skate at Euros. Some very interesting points about training in Canada with Brian in comparision to reality of training in Russia which she experienced previously. Another source of very concerning fact about approach to weight control in Russian school of skating. After SP: - It was a long way to get here. I am happy with the performance, my coaches are too. I was focused, I did everything I could. I'm at the European Championships, it's amazing! - Music from SP is very important to me. At first I didn't understand it, but when I fell in love with it myself I understood the character and now it is probably my favorite program. Music for FP was chosen by B.Orser. It's slow, it's new to me - I usually skate to fast and lively melodies. - The break from competing was very difficult for me. I moved to Canada, I was 15 and I was alone there for two months. I had to learn how to cook, do laundry, etc. I feel a special bond with B. Orser, he is like a parent to me and Medvedeva is like an older sister. After FS: - I am happy with my sktate. One major mistake in the last jump, but the program was good overall. I felt I skated better than yesterday. I felt good mentally and I will work even harder to prove that I am one of the best. - Next for me will be Polish Junior Championship to qualify for the team at the Junior World Championships. I will also go to the World Championships for seniors. I know I have a problem with underrotations, so I have to work to jump higher. B. Orser was very happy with my performance, he saw how nervous I was before, becuase it was my first European Championships. - (About Orser as a coach) B.Orser never raises his voice, but he can whisper in such a way that it would be better if he screamed - not when you fall, but if you make some stupid mistake. - In Russia we were weighed up to 40 times a day, so I was used to fear since I was 10. Now I take care of my diet and look after my weight by myself. In Canada nobody weighs us, I control it myself. Orser only once asked me about my weight - he said it was perfect and it would be good to keep it. 14. Good for you I actually feel the change after switching from +3 to +5 system, it's more close to 6.0. now, scores ar more dependent on judges marks, so all the issues got escalated. But it's not only judging, it's also PR around skating, the events are held and promoted in a way as some TV shows, very pop style, artificially creating big emotions - that is really iritating for me, I have a feeling that quality skating is lost in all of that. But it's of course only my personal taste.
  15. I don't think that they aren't good skaters there, but the narration and scoring standards does not let me enjoy any competition, because it puts skating in the shadow of politics + events are presented in very irritating way. And I;m not a kind of person that can just enjoy skating and ignore the rest although I wish I would. There are many non-Asian skaters that I love, but not sure if I can continue to watch competions with the way they are held. I have crisis To be clear, as I mentioned at the end - it was not on a serious note, just fantasy based on my current frustration. On a serious note, of course it should not happen and surely won't. Edit: I decided to hide my previous post not to cause unnecesary discusion on my silly, impulsive note. Sorry for that
  16. Good to see that, altough I would expect some real and decent apologies to Mai as the damage has been done. Waka + Puma! A love it
  17. Whatever is Mai going through it is up to her how much details she wants to share publicly. So far she hasn't shared much and I think the best way to support her is to respect that and send her a lot of love no matter what. Using a proffesional journalism platform to speculate about Mai's health basing on unconfirmed sources and own interpretation is very far from supporting <imo> and I find it harmful. Even if (at the end of the day) Jack's speculations turn out to be true, it's just not right to discuss Mai's very personal issues without her actual voice. The narrative about that case should belong to her.
  18. And maybe Tracy will do commentary for TSN at Wordls as well?
  19. Why they decided to ask Jackie? He's just random american media representative/lobbyst. They could have asked Shuzo or Nobu or Shizuka and get much more interesting input from Yuzuru's domestic environment and acutal FS competent specialist. But ok, I guess they just play it pop. Wait and see, if that's mean any new content from Tracy and Zu - it's always a treat
  20. Go Kazuki! btw. very nice entry, makes it look smooth
  21. Here you can find translated parts about Yuzu: He is such a fanboy
  22. This is the main article for today on YOG official website: https://www.lausanne2020.sport/en/news/figure-skating/japan_s_ice_dancers_nishiyama_and_yoshida_inspired_by_club_mate_hanyu
  23. He already has two notebooks dedicated just for you.
  24. Babe, he not only knows your name, he probably also knows your deepest, secret fears. He's a spy.
  25. Hahaha, I think it's a new account, lfmao https://twitter.com/shoesyuzu Example:
