The IN article didn't answer any questions. Nothing is in discussion yet, between Nathan and Yale/Raf/US fed. The thing with Nathan and his team is they often lack of long term plan. They didn't manage the OG plan right, now with the college schedule, its gonna be 10x harder. He's doing 7-8 quads in 2 programs, he need full time training to keep his form, let alone focus/improve other areas of his skating. I'm curious how he manage it, but at the same time, I'm not too optimistic.

Maybe Marin or her family feel she isn't Hamada's priority ? This season, its clearly she focused on Satoko and her way to Olympics. Next season, Rika might move to senior, a girl with 3A and potential quad, what's Marin's position in that group ? I think a coaching chang is a need for Marin but I'm surprise she choose Raf of all coaches. IMO I would like her to move to Marina Zoueva. But she trained in Cali for 1 month already and if thing didn't worked, I doubt she/her team could make an announcement for a long term training. Idk how this gonna work, but at least it show Marin is serious about her skating career and want to improve. I think all the top coaches are strict and high demanding. In case of Brian and Raf, the biggest difference is Brain does protect his student in front of media, but Raf doesn't. Remember how he rant about Nathan's family after OG, but when his student do well, its all because they listen to him.

All the best to Marin. Its a difficult to move to another country and train but I think she need a big change. When Hamada said Marin lazy a couple of time in front of media, I feel this would happen. Hamada might do it with good attention, but "lazy" is a strong word and it could hurt one's pride, not to mention Marin's parents.I don't think Marin is lazy, she just lacks of focus and motivation , and if we don't compare her to those hard working skaters like Satoko, Mao, Yuzuru, Shoma, she's fine. Tbh I would like to see her with Marina Zoueva Hopefully she can focus on training while in japan they would force her to do millions CF and show. I don't like Raf and he won't protect his skater had he/she underperform. As for the rumor of Wakaba-Orser, I have a feeling its always fan's wish. Maybe its too good to be true and I'm scare that I would be disappointed had it not come true. I'll believe when it happen.

^ Kazuki and Dennis won't be in the same GP as they are seed 4-6 :'D

I think it make sense that Yuzuru's back to Toronto for rehab, and having his coaches watch him closely ( Sorry I'm always worried when Yuzuru practice/skate alone). There's almost 3 weeks until ice show, and since he wont skate, he can go back to Japan right before it. Maybe he already back to TCC before WC. Who know's maybe he also there for new choreo The guy who posted pic seem to be a harness specialist as far as I remember

About COR, Rus Fed might want to protect Kolyada as he's so hot and cold. As for Yuzuru and Shoma, well, I doubt JSF would pull a COC's japanese ladies twice. Imagine, they could have 4 gold instead of 2 gold-2 silver. It also effect to skater's world/season ranking and who's know, it might hurt their chance to GPF. Weird thing always happen, who could've thought Javi end up #6 at COC
-
Javi has his own show around November, for sure he won't do GPs. As for Yuzuru, it will be SC+NHK/COR/Idf. I dont think he will do SA and COR. The ladies is more predictable, SC+Idf for Keatlyn, SA+NHK for Satoko, COC+COR for Wakaba. I wonder who will get COR between Evgenia and Alina ? or both ?
-
If Yuzuru does Idf, I think he wont do NHK. Imagine NHK-Idf-GPF-National, he will have 4 comps in less than 2 months, not to mention the travelling will be a nightmare As for ladies, I think SC and Idf for Keatlyn. Very curious who will get NHK, although I think Satoko has way higher chance to get it than Wakaba

Proposed changes for next season

I dont know a thing about ice dance minus twizzle, but how can you measure entertainment ???? -
He doesn't skate on his own ice show and I think he really want to take it easy and let the ankle heal properly. Brian said he doesn't want to lose the feel, so he's skating, but not training, mainly to test his ankle and the range of movement he could do. Yuzuru and his team has alot of experience in these case so I trust them. I think Yuzuru's feeling is so complicate, and we can't guess much base on his words. But he's very young and smart, he's only 23 and he can do or start anything he want at that age ( Gosh I feel old ....)

I love all moments of Ghislain and Yuzuru at this Olys They have a very close relationship and I can see he's really care about Yuzuru. I'm glad to see him play a bigger role in coaching team this season and I hope this will continue And the long hug he gave to Yuzuru after his skate is I read Brian's interview. It make sense that Yuzuru need time. Olys is just 1 month ago, he's tired both physically and mentality, not to mention about his ankle. Let him enjoy the time with his family. The fact that he's back on ice this soon for rehab surprise me, I thought it would be way later. I trust Yuzuru will make a best decision and I believe we will see him compete at least 1-2 more season. From Brian's words, it seem he also want Yuzuru continue too.

The best 3A of the day. I read a document from Skate canada about requirement for skaters next season, and seem like its confirm that senior men's LP will be cut to 4 mins with 7 jumping pass (3 combo). Everything's still the same. I guess most skaters knew this info, just the quad's BV and GOE factor still in discuss. So this might not affect too much in choreo. Skaters still get new program and adjust it instead of waiting for ISU document.

Thank you. I rarely watch video with japanese comment so I don't know this. At least English/EU commentator never mention that so its good. Yes Japanese media love drama but I dont want to think about potential talking. For my sanity
-
I'm not saying its wrong to discuss about WS. Maybe I saw some people stress too much about WS and worried about the potential "people judge skaters base on WS" going around when in fact nobody care. This discussion pop up many time since NHK I feel abit annoying. But that's me. And If anyone feel offend because of my words, I'm sorry. That's new for me. I never hear any commentator introduce skater as no1 world ranking instead of World/Olympic/EU/4CC/National champion. Even a medal at any big comp get mention first, not world ranking. Of course when someone's first in WS, there's news report about it but most people don't care about it too much. Yuzuru was #2 at the beginning of 2015/16 season and I didn't see anyone talk about Javi get no1 at that time
-
I can't believe we have to care about world ranking that much WS in figure skating is only use for skating order, otherwise its pretty useless. No one introduce skaters as no1/no2 in world standing. Sui/han isnt in the #1 WS, and so as both V/M and P/C last season but i don't think anyone could look down on them just because of that world standing. This is not tennis
-
Me too. I want him to be healthy and skate whatever he want.
-
I would be happy if Yuzuru can resume his on ice training by late May/early June, just do some stroking and crossover is enough. After PC, everything he does will be a big bonus. I dont care about quad or 4A. He could stand in the middle of the rink and bow and would receive 100 pcs from me (Tbh i only think about 4A because he want to do it and its his dream. The same with the 2nd OGM)
-
Yeah, I didn't think about this. As long as he's healthy enough to do GPs series, everything's ok. I won't complain about NHK anymore
-
Let see, I realize its still too soon for GPs. We can predict once we get top 6 at WC. Since he won 2nd OGM, I hope one or some of the curse will be lifted ( 4CC silver, SC silver, 1st GP silver, 2 silvers in one season <-- too many silver lol )
-
I think Shoma might get NHK this time, he is the only national champ who didn't do NHK I think. SC is very high possible, especially since Patrick retired. And there's many reason why I COR > IDF and I think we all know Anyway, it will depend on the top 6 seed at WC this year. For sure JSF won't let Yuzuru and Shoma do the same GPs.
-
Yes, i'll depend on his recovery. I think if he recover like his plan, he will do GPs. The only one I think he won't choose is COC, but who knows ? Maybe this year Shoma will get NHK. I would like to see Yuzuru at non NHK event. Nothing against the event itself but NHK was a fix for him in the last quad, I would love too see him at another GPs. I think any host country would love to have him in their GPs :'D

Double post//

I hope fans won't take Yuzuru's greatness for granted. What he did in the past four year were more than enough. The list of injuries he had is probably longer than all top men combine. He went through COC collision, an almost career ending injury after Boston, an ankle injury this season. Just one of those could break most skaters out there. Yet, he overcame all and got 2nd OGM. He doesn't need to do this or that to please some people. He need to rest and heal his ankle properly, not to think about proving himself again. We don't know when he could get back to on ice training, and how his training with 4A go. Its not a normal quad and even Yuzuru himself know it would take a huge burden on his ankle. I would love to see his 4A, but if its not happen next season ( or ever), its still ok. No one can take any title or his legacy in this sport just because the lack of 4A. I hope once he restart his full training, fans won't scream 4A 4A everyday Now I think, if his ankle heal fast enough for GP, which GP he can do ? I dont think he has any problem to get 2 GP even skipping WC. SC and COR is very possible IMO ( or I would like to see him anywhere but NHK)
-
I dont think he will reuse any program. He have 2 brand new programs in 2016-17 season when he started training quite late with upgrade layout. Olympics is abit special and emotionally drained. I have a feeling we might see something very new and unique from him (maybe music from japanese composer again)
