  1. Well he certainly won me over to Phantom- not sure I could cope if he took it into his head to do Tango de Roxanne- one has to draw the line somewhere.
  2. No no no no no - it isn't, it really isn't - have you any idea of the loathing generated for your film by all this
  3. Just spent a chunk of my Sunday afternoon watching all the Freds I could find - from CoC 2014 onwards and many different commentators. Hoping for an amazing performance in PC🤞🏻
  4. Super negative - as before. We must, as civilised individuals, agree to disagree.
  5. In the end, it is his career, and his decision, which won't have been taken lightly, without taking into a/c lots of information that isn't made public, or without advice from his team. We can only support his decision - that's what fans do.
  6. I am so glad they did away with that part of the competition.
  7. Now that would be something - but unlikely. I'm sure at some point we will have to have the 'yes it was a fall, but they lost points, and no it wouldn't be better to do easier stuff that they wouldn't fall on, that's the challenge' talk - that red box is just going to make those conversations so much easier. It won't just be me saying it, there will be onscreen proof - I love that new feature
  8. @WinForPooh I meant 'he' as in any male skater - I am planning to watch all of them!
  9. It looks at the moment that I will be able to watch on tv with Eurosport rather than with headphones and iPad in the spare room as I half expected. Still hoping the BBC show the skating live but if not there's always the mute button for BESP commentators if they get too irritating. Me and the cat probably - only the Team or a good run for England in the Ashes gets anyone else up at that time, which is just as well really - they can be really annoying about the scoring, though the new box should help with that problem- " No, he didn't 'get away' with that fall- see the box is red, that's how many points he's lost". That's distracting so best if they are only around for the highlights!
  10. If Nathan goes clean with his maxed out quad layout/MIA choreography and beats clean Yuzuru ......... RIP figure skating
  11. This morning I realised that the viewing schedule is up on my Eurosport app- and there it is, 9.2.18 Figure Skating Men's Team Short at 1am..........
  12. I think the BBC titles commissioners have been reading his comments https://youtu.be/XjuvSSe7t1w And I've managed to link something!!!!!
  13. The approval of another OCD Japanese perfectionist must be particularly sweet.
  14. Who knows when he will turn up? I don't mind - whatever gets him there in the best possible condition in the circumstances. OG is a pressure cooker- he's been there before so he knows what to expect and is presumably managing it as he and his team think best.
  15. It amuses and impresses me the way he organises his media commitments efficiently into blocks so that they don't interfere too much in his life, so we get batches of photos for different things trickling out but apart from the ones that require him to wear a costume like Ghana, the clothes and the haircut tend to give it away like the ubiquitous white t shirt.
  16. It's like Schrodingers immigrant - he's Schrodingers champion who is holding the sport back by hitting all the technical and artistic bullet points.
  17. Reading some of the comments elsewhere on the internet the antis are having problems with their pro and con lists - can't quite decide whether to accept that he's a threat to the new order or convince themselves that he's a has been.
  18. I have a feeling that after all these months he's going to hit the ice in practices at warp speed and with a face like a demon - I'm really looking forward to it!
  19. Wow Murderface banner- excellent choice- thanks to all of you.
  20. Oh Phantom has its fans - me among them, but it isn't a general favourite and it was really funny the way the discussion cycled back to it several times last summer!
  21. Reminds me of the speculation cycles over what he would skate to this season - usually culminating in a panic that he might go back to Phantom! Probably why his actual choice was never as unpopular here as elsewhere!
  22. In the podcast with PJK SLB said that he puts his jumps in from the beginning - specifically the 3A - and said he was able to do that because they're working on new programmes immediately after WC so he's in shape to do that. I don't suppose he's doing it for every run through, I'm sure he marks them a lot, but she said he does incorporate them from the start. i don't find the lack of information surprising or sinister. He's a working athlete not a celebrity looking for photo ops and he needs to focus. We'll know in 2 weeks
  23. Nathan's stiffness is partly lack of flexibility in his knees - lack of the plié - those almost straight legged landings which make me wince as I imagine the jolt through the leg and up through the body. Shoma has almost the opposite - the deep knee bend coupled with a wrench to get the rotation which is equally wince making, but because of the torque on those joints rather than the jolt. I'm not expressing this well but I bet there are a few people here who know what I mean.
