I went to the Kazakhstan embassy in Tokyo last night since they are accepting flowers for Denis. It was heartbreaking to see many people in ordinary clothes bringing flowers because usually, that's what I see on my way to shows and competitions, but flowers have always been the sign of appreciation towards skaters, so I'm thankful to for them for letting to let us see him off that way. (They also opened the embassy a lot longer than usual and multiplied the seats for us to write messages for Denis) I still don't know what to say about what happened. It's so sad thinking how young he was and how suddenly he had to go.

Rough translation of Wakaba's comment: "Although it wasn't a competition, the audience cheered for me, so I was able to skate at ease." "The (SP) music gets hotter toward the end, and I need to catch up with it to pull it off, so I'm working hard to be able to do it." "The Stsq is really tough as it comes at the end of the program where I'm already tired, so now I'm working on becoming able to execute it even when I'm tired hoping to get ready at the beginning of the season."

In one of the interviews given after his win in PyeonChang, he said he could not drink. From 32:04, the announcer shows questions to Yuzu which they collected from people they met on the street. The second question says "お酒とか飲んで遊んだりするんですか?", which means "Do you sometimes go out and drink?" and before answering the first question he says, "お酒は飲めません" which means "I can't drink." (The announcer reacts as if he said "I don't drink" but he said "I can't drink" here) He doesn't give a reason here, but for whatever reasons if he says he can't, I think he can't.

Thank you for sharing. It's so nice to hear directly from him about what happened and how he's doing now. Good luck in your recovery, Han Yan! Hope things go well with you.

I think so too. He was there to commentate for a French TV.

Yuzu is probably a nickname given by those who are close to him when he was a child because we can hear his ex-coaches call him Yuzu in old documentaries and news clips. His old friends (e.g. Ryuju and Keiji) also calls him Yuzu. In this press conference held 3 years ago when he receive an award, he refers to the nickname as a name people call him as a person, not as Hanyu senshu. (See from 3:14) Rough translation of the relevant part (from 03:14)

Tatsuki's comment on his retirement as a professional figure skater given before the first leg of Prince Ice World Tokyo starts from today (Sorry for not being able to attach a translation because it's very long and I have other things to do now) https://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2018/07/13/kiji/20180713s00079000148000c.html

Hmm... I think the original poster (not IK, but koka060228) is just a fan, not an insider... ETA: The Japanese post sounds more like a reaction to the latest news/rumor about Boyang's situation. It says "I'm very disappointed that Boyang's move to TCC was called off, but I will continue to support him nevertheless."

Crossposting from Team Korea thread: Google translation says Zijun is Jin-Seo's choreographer for this season. If she's going to choreograph his new program/programs, I'm looking forward to seeing it/them!

Zijun will choreograph Jin-Seo's program/programs for this season?

Thank you, @Yukiko Sakae for sharing a beautiful hanabi program. It was mesmerizing. It seems like a work by Nomura fireworks, one of the best firework factories in Japan. Last year, they also produced a program using Final Time Traveler as a special feature in a fireworks competition. It might have been shared here last year but let me share it again on this occasion because it's also beautiful. In this yearly competition, you often find a program inspired by figure skating, probably because FS is popular in Japan, but I suspect some fireworks specialists are also personally interested in FS. In this competition, each competitor is judged by how skillfully they launched their fireworks and made them explode according to the music, how beautifully the fireworks exploded, how effectively they express the theme of the program making use of the characteristics of their products, etc. The program should be within two and a half minutes. A bit like FS, isn't it? In 2014, Miyagi-based factory competed with a program titled "Prince on the ice -nail the quads!" using PW. ETA: Another program inspired by FS (somewhere around 2:00 you'll realize you know this song really well)

Actually, Kikuchi san still lives in Sendai. In a picture shared by @ruruzest on page 3708, you can see his words on being well-known athlete's trainer and how it was tough for him when Yuzu was suffering injuries. In such time, he gets criticized by media and even by some fans as Yuzu's trainer, but on some occasions, there was nothing he could do because Yuzu was under treatment in Canada and Kikuchi san was working as a therapist in Sendai. The picture I mentioned is shared by another therapist who attended a closed seminar for therapists, and as far as I know, Kikuchi san is living in Sendai as a normal citizen who doesn't have an agent to take care of such issues regarding media etc., so I'm not going to go further into this unless he officially gets interviewed or something, but he isn't living in Toronto. I still respect his devotion though. Last night I was editing a recording of the medal ceremony in PyeongChang aired on that day. It was nice to find Kikuchi san smiling in the crowd watching Yuzu. ETA: Oh, it's already translated and shared above

In addition to BS Asahi, TV Asahi (their terrestrial channel) is going to feature FaOI Shizuoka on July 2nd (from 01:25 JST) in one of their sports show "GET SPORTS." http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/getsports/ Probably the highlights of what they'll air on July 1st, but it may include a short interview with Yuzu. Preview of GET SPORTS next week: He is talking about how special for him to collaborate with musicians, so the question might have been "What is special about FaOI as an ice show?"
