  1. thank you, BWOZWaltz for all your hard work!! That was so insightful...and a lovely, warm interview which we non-Japanese speaking fans can enjoy, thanks to you!
  2. Hello, would someone kindly consider translating...this is a radio interview with Yuzu ..he sounds as if he is having a good time and sharing a lot of information:
  3. 100. for the myriad interpretations he is capable of on the ice....which touch our hearts and souls isn't that enough reason to love him?
  4. 98.for his thoughtfulness: writing a thank you letter to Tat for the music to Notte Stellata for sending flowers to his Russian coaches(RJ 1) when they had some sort of grand opening sending Oly chocolates to his supporters 99. his sense of humor
  5. for being an 'original'....for never losing his compassion, empathy and kindness...his humanity, despite being a megastar, Supernova!
  6. I just reread this thread again...so moving..the comments from Russian fans....Yuzuru unites us all with the admiration and the joy he brings us on and off the ice! How can you not love him?
  7. he must be somewhat clueless...to think that is himself ....
  8. This quote is so true....I am feeling teary: he is the Secretariat of men's figure skating singles
  9. well...how about Under Armour gear for the winter...if you attend live competitions and simply because the winter wear is generally very good. I have been impressed with the line and have been purchasing for myself and my family members I like the Athlete Recovery line( bought 2 sets each for all members of family); Coldgear Reactor jackets; Coldgear tops; love their fleecy full zip hoodies...quite impressive warmth, softness I understand the Heatwear is not as good value for the price but the winterwear line is good value
  10. His retirement speech was way more gracious and he cried when his Mom sent in a message( i think they hadn't been in communication for a while?) Of course, being a parent myself, I give side eye to someone who hasn't talked to his Mom in ages (especially a child to whom many advantages were given). That may be unfair of me, and certainly judgemental but, eh?
  11. love Yuzuru

    love Secretariat

    love Prince

  12. Patrick's lack of success in the last quad is due to his lack of insight into his own weaknesses and resting on his laurels. He already knows his strengths and touts them loudly. I do not know a lot about skating but even I could tell that he often folded under pressure, and his triple Axel was his nemesis. Last, thinking that you don't need a coach(how arrogant and blind) is probably not a good mindset for someone who wants to achieve the pinnacle of the sport. Underestimating your competitors is also not a 'winning trait' ....A champion needs to keep striving to improve, to keep ahead of the curve. I also did not like his trashtalking his fellow skaters...maybe it has to do with his being an only child. Being gracious in defeat and generous in victory ....
  13. Wonder if he uses regular over the earphones at home? like the famous Japanese megabrand: Stax or JPS Abyss?
  14. I think if ACI wishes more orderly conduct and increased safety measures: assigned seats is the only way to go. I found it shocking to see video footage detailing the ignoble 'footrace' from the door to the seats. This is dangerous behaviour not only for the runners but the other members of the audience who may get injured during the 'stampede' Furthermore, I feel that if one person 'saves' more than 2 seats in addition to their own....that should be maximum. It is unfair to others who arrive early and all the seats are saved but nobody is in them. I enjoy live music/performances but save my applause and cheers for the beginning and the end. Nothing is more annoying than someone who insists on screaming or acting out in the middle of a performance such that the performer is distracted or cannot be heard/seen and enjoyed by other patrons.
  15. I am not a big fan of the Otonal costume, but I was a huge fan of his Chopin V1 costume: indigo blue, elegant grey belt with gems and black pants....so very classic and elegant. Otonal neckline seems too low and the front is like a peplum at the bottom...it works with Notte Stellata swan costume but, for me, not so much here. Otonal costume strikes me as kinda blah...meh...ordinary and not extraordinary Seimei V2 costume was beyond inspired and truly majestic, regal, royal etc. However, I am here for his skating..so he could wear a paper bag and I would still watch and be a fan.
  16. I think it is great that Yuzuru is still competing so that we can watch the GOAT in real time. But no stalking or taking photos of him in his private life....he is a private person, if he wanted to share more of his life, he will.
  17. So prescient to say: .he didn't need new quads...he only has to polish the ones he has to win!!! Angelo Dolfino said the same thing. I believe Plushenko may have said something similar. All I know is that I would rather watch Yuzu skate any of his SP or FP than watch a quadfest of 5-6 quads with little else.
  18. wow....I can't...read accounts like that. That is torture!!
  19. yes, I agree. People should get a life rather than critiquing someone else's life. His private life is none of our business. Let us just appreciate the beauty of his skating, his continued contributions to figure skating and how he is a role model for a good, kind, caring human being!!
