I don't think Med needs to do anything here. Her current students can all see for themselves what Eteri's doing. That's something they'll be carrying around. I also DK about the parents' involvement in Russia, but I doubt they'd all keep quite.

How I went from "excited" to "who cares?" in 2 hours tells me just how bad the state of ladies FS is. I am looking forward to her fulfilling her potential, though, no doubt.

It will be a problem, and as I said, if her intention is to stay in competition, Orser is the one for it. For contention? The system will hold her down after a couple of years (can't believe I'm saying that in the case of Med). But let's wait for the proposals to pass, and to see what Orser will do with her 4S potential, and her axel.

Around 90 degrees? And Med PRs around 180 degree on her 2A. But PR is the least of her worries there. And, the more I think of this, the less I'm sure it will help. Unless Med learns a quad, and does it consistently, will she ever keep up with the new gen? Pure technique isn't being rewarded. Med benefited from that, and the future Eteri girls might. Can she learn a 3S-3Lo? Can she fix her 2A and learn a 3A? Her edge jumps are her strength. Her PCS is already maxed out. Her current tech GOEs are already maxed out. She certainly needs better jumping ability, but she's already getting the points. So what will Orser do for her? She wants to compete, and yes Orser will provide stability and packaging, but will her scores increase further, then? They're already right up there. She'll stay in competition, but in contention? Don't know. Ultimately, the system of reward needs to factor in quality. And it might now. But unless there's a proven change, is there any real help here? Proposals for rewarding quality are there, but will they really be effective? Orser did take her on, but IDK what the intent was. But maybe he does see quad potential there. Grit is there, anyway.

Won't lie, I prefer Higuchi's skating. Even after Orser, I doubt Medvedeva will be impressive to me. But I commend her effort into trying to fix her flaws.

IDK where the SOI thread is, so here is a brief review: Karen is excellent. She needs better management. Rippon was impressive live. Alex and Maia, especially Alex, are phenomenal. The rest were not so impressive. I appreciate Brown's talent, though. I had very low expectations of Wagner, Tennell, and Nagasu, and they delivered on them. Nathan Chen's ability, in its current state, is unquestionably vastly overstated.

Agreed. She doesn't have the chops for POTO. She's 16! But FS likes warhorses.

Which is why I hope the "quality" thing is real.
