What entry does Boyang use for his 4Ts? It's not a 3-turn. I think it's mohawk->change of foot->tap? I mean, that's not a difficult entry, at least.
-
Isn't a mohawk a standard entry for the toeloop, too?
-
He can enjoy his time in Korea now! With Orser and Cha and ... Zhou.
-
Awww I thought he pulled it off quite well
-
Why not? And why Marin's?
-
Not true -- look at Daleman's 3T-3T. PR'd 180 degrees, but keeps blade off the ice. Wouldn't get the vault if she didn't I think. I think she might be using her leg strength there.
-
Gabriel Daleman has a weak take-off on her 3T-3T. She has nice amplitude, but compare it to Yuna who picks and and jumps and then rotates, to Daleman's who swings her leg and spins around on the toe-pick. The difference is striking.
-
Kristi Yamaguchi crashed once I think.
-
Hahaha Don't fuss it with the PR, too much, remember that 180 degrees is allowed. I do think Radio's is less rotated than Marin's though. And 120 degrees on toe-loop is actually great! I think most guys do it between 90-120.
-
Can you confirm PR on Radio and Honda's combos? I think Honda does 180 on both jumps, which would make both borderline, but feel like Radio does 270 on her toe, which would definitely make it UR. I absolutely hate these "twist the body and leg" take-offs, Yuna has spoiled me with her clean technique. And Tukt, for that matter. Don't even know what I should take the take-off direction to be! Honda: I think the Flip's definitely fine, would give benefit of doubt on toe-loop... Loop's fine, too. This skater is... not a jumper, that's for sure. Radio: would mark 3T<, and I think 3Lz is borderline (I think I'm taking the take-off direction to be correct)
-
You know what? This is my headcanon. It was star wars, and he was trying to be beamed up. IN: 10. The judges just didn't get him. He has dang expensive tastes:
-
I don't think Marin under-rotated? Her flip looked fine, and her 3T might be borderline... Tukt's 3Lz is really beautiful.
-
Dammit
-
@Xen you called 3Lz-3T for Zagitova...
-
Those are ISU definitions, I guess.
-
Are we counting slight outside edges and flats as lips? Technically those are fine. Similarly, what are the rules for flutzes? If someone rolls over to a flat or inside edge before take-off, but still had the counter-rotation, are those flutzes, too?
-
I'm actually really not sure haha. I'd say yes if you're being lenient, because they did 10 turns. Also @Xen why is Wakaba's Flip (!)? It looked fine to me.
-
Gabby barely held her catchfoot for two positions, looked more like a 1 and a half turn. Should she even be getting a level? Spins are so useless to judge when half of them aren't even done to the music.
-
You'd have to grade the loop, and then apply the deduction. So if it's a +1 loop, then you can assign either 0 or -1.
-
Does anyone know why so much of Boyang's program was changed since Finlandia?
-
LOL literally only Zag, Higuchi, and Tukt kept me awake through that. Can we give half increments to elements? I want to give Zagitova more points, but I can't really do +2, and I think +1 is too low. Temporary points, with explanations on demand! zag FCSp4 +1.5 StSq4 +1 3Lz-3Lo< -3 3F +1 2A +1 LSp4 +1.5 CCoSp4 +1.5 SS: 8.00 TR: 8.25 PE: 8.00 CO: 7.50 IN: 7.75= 31.6 honda 3F-3T +1 SSp4 +1 StSq4 +1.5 CCoSp4 +1.5 3Lo +1 2A +1 SS: 8.50 TR: 8.25 PE: 7.50 CO: 7.75 IN: 8.25 = 32.2 tukt 3T-3T +1.5 LSp +0.5 3Lz +2 -1 for lack of preceding steps = +1 StSq +1 2A +1.5 FCSp4 +0 CCoSp4 +1 SS: 7.50 TR: 7.75 PE: 8.25 CO: 8.25 IN: 8.00 = 31.4 choi 3Lz-3T<? +0.5 CCoSp4 +1 FCSp4 +1 3F +1 2A +1 StSq +1 LSp4 +1 SS: 7.75 TR: 7.50 PE: 7.50 CO: 7.75 IN: 7.50 = 30.4 mihara 3Lz-3T 0 FCSp4 +1 SSp4 +1 2A +1.5 3F +1.5 StSq +1.5 LSp4: +1.5 SS: 8.25 TR: 8.00 PE: 8.00 CO: 8.00 IN: 8.00 = 32.2 higuchi 2A +2 FCSp4: +1 CCoSp4: +1.5 3Lz-3T +2 3F +1.5 StSq +1.5 LSp4: +1.5 SS: 8.25 TR: 8.25 PE: 8.50 CO: 8.25 IN: 8.50 = 33.4 Radio 3Lz-3T<? +0.5 FCSp4 +1 CCoSp4: +0.5 3Lo +1 2A +0.5 StSq +1 LSp4 +1.5 SS: 8.00 TR: 8.00 PE: 8.25 CO: 8.00 IN: 8.25 = 32.4 Dale 3T-3T +1.5 FCsp4 +1 3Lz +1.5 2A +1.5 StSq +1 CCoSp4 +1 (I'm sure she did a layback somewhere, but goodness don't make me watch that again) SS: 8.00 TR: 8.00 PE: 8.00 CO: 7.50 IN: 7.50 = 31.2 (Ignore levels, there's a reason I didn't calculate TES) I think that's 1) Higuchi; 2) Honda; 3) Zagitova.

@robin All the ladies, or a subset?
-
Considering how ice dance is, and how they're probably third best again... yeah.
-
It's OK, they have different qualities.
-
I find your description for Yuzuru fitting Yuna so much, though her edge quality wasn't quite the same as Kostner's.
