I'm out of this for the rest of the off-season, all my horses are in their stables now -
He's agile, yes, but his long limbs also lend to an already good natural line. I hope they work on his posture there to make him look stronger. He looks like he's flailing at points in the beginning. But he doesn't throw himself into his turns, and kicks so that's good. The good natural line part is a TCC thing, actually. It's the same for Yuna, Yuzuru, and Jun, too. Orser has a type (and it seems so do I). Maybe Boyang will be taught more to leverage that now.

Skate Canada motioned to strike the proposal that wanted to make sure the presidents of federations couldn't be judges. Oh, I wonder who the next Patrick Chan in the making is -

Is Tristan and Iseult something that's ever been used? I just know of it as a quiz-answer. -

Apparently TSL is saying that Tursynbayeva is leaving, and might do Pairs. Not on their twitter, so I'm assuming it's on one of their recent videos. Not giving them a view, so maybe someone else can confirm. If true, it's as predicted. Still doubt Cha will be leaving. -
Haha it's a joke, because Boyang's trying his hand at a balletic pose. Maybe he isn't choreographing it and is just doing music cuts because of this. But I hope he's more involved.

Oh, I think there were rumours he was forced to retire. Not sure what came of them. OT: I wonder why all 4Fs are so unimpressive. They're done with too much PR (even Nathan doesn't execute it with 0 PR as a Flip was meant to be done originally, I think), and it seems to sacrifice quality by a margin. -

Sure. For the rest, I'm not sure I'm familiar with the CSA to claim it was solely their idea. It could be that Boyang approached them with the idea, and then they agreed with it and approached Orser. Probably unlikely given the interviews with Zhao, but still possible. -

Oh, no, I guess I wasn't too clear. I'm sure it was a CSA call in the end (so even if he'd said no, maybe they would send him -- as @Xen suggests, the athletes might not have the maturity for decision making processes + he's just 20 in the first place), I just think that the concern over him not being alright with it, or being concerned too much about him not being able to adjust, is likely unnecessary. I'm guessing they ran this plan across him after the Olys, and he had enough time to think over it, and get adjusted to the idea, and he seems driven enough to see the benefits. It's also possible he was on board as soon as he heard the idea (because we're believing it was the CSA that brought up the idea), maybe it aligned with his own personal goals in his opinion. I just don't think he would've been against the idea (which is a concern among a few -- especially those who think that his coaches practically looked like his parents and would've made it very difficult for him to leave them), though I can't say for sure, of course. -
Is this Nathan Chen?

I'm sure the CSA did decide, but I really doubt they took zero input from him. That seems like a strange assumption to make honestly. And he does probably have his own goals. -

Not a conclusion I draw, but I'm not sure, either way. -
It's probably an LP, unless Kurt's just being funny about the "Is that 4?" stuff. But it won't be choreographed yet, they'll wait for new rules to be passed. He probably already has a new EX for The Ice.

I don't have an opinion about not asking (yet, at least), but I don't remember -- did Orser ask anyone about adding in Medvedeva? And it doesn't seem like he about anyone asked Jason, either, right? -
The two of you are worrying me. No, I think this music resembles La Strada more, but is more complex than that. I don't see this as Javi-type music at all, he was made to draw on his ability to create characters. (Nothing against Javi, but Boyang can't be made to do his type of programs IMO at least rn, so I'd like them to not try.)
-
It's an LP, I think. It's perfect music for him. Out of the ordinary music for out of the ordinary skating Kind of waiting to see what they do with this. They can take a few directions here. It can be a pretty complex program. My only worry is that they don't try to make it like La Strada/ take the solely comedic route. As a side note, that's just really sweet music. Here's the full suite:
-
Boyang can't be forced into warhorses conventionally, so the choreographers gotta be creative. That's a cool thing about him.
-
I don't like Super Javi
-
Ah, didn't know Kurt was behind it. Don't think it will repeat given music choice, and because Boyang hasn't ever really sold himself as that kind of a skater. (Yuzuru had already done romeo and juliet and PW). And Kurt probably knows this, and has probably has evolved since. The thing about that one is that it relied a lot on the natural comfort of the skater, so if he just relies on that again, it will turn out to be a very different program anyway.
