the masochist in me says to pick Coc '14 im so sorry, it's such an absolutely heartbreaking skate and i wish he'd never done it and instead went straight to the hospital right when the collision happened . . . but i cant deny that watching that made me the hardcore fan i am today, no program has ever made me feel the way i do watching him go through that ugh, though i wish there wasnt any footage of Yuzu after he got the scores, i feel nauseous hearing him cry like that and i refuse to watch anything after he sits down at the Kiss n Cry. (and no POTO program has ever encapsulated the tragic character of the Phantom like that performance, with all the falls and tears and drama it is THE most faithful interpretation of Phantom) hmmm but also ive only watched that performance maybe two or three times because it is truly really hard to watch so I'd probably pick Haru yo koi (Shizouka 2nd day) above anything else cuz that skate nearly brings me to tears every time - that entry to the Ina Bauer where he touches his ears then spreads his arms out????? the only 'balletic' skater i can truly enjoy on the ice, and who i think is the most balletic of all modern figure skaters is my boy T A T S U K I M A C H I D A if you haven't watched his 7 min skate to Bolero you haven't lived edit: really though Machida is one of the most amazing artists the sport ever had, he's up there with Stephane and J Buttle imo. His commitment to his artistic vision may go unparalleled by any skater of the modern era

Yeah I think a good explanation as to why it feels more “cringey” when Western or NA skaters do bollywood is because generally people of Indian descent are systematically oppressed in the west and therefore even if you’re doing the right researcg and putting in responsible work for the program it’s easy to look like you’re making fun of the culture. I think Indian culture isn’t as mainstream in the west as much as like Irish culture is so that may be one explanation as to why we get excited when Asian skaters skate to Riverdance and why we cringe when white skaters skate to folk dances from other races

along with literally every other moment mentioned here i have to say that the one moment that gets my most genuine laugh is the 2017 ACI gloves debacle. wow . . . really looking at each one at the same time really hammers in the story he's trying to tell with these three programs Otonal - a look back at the hardships and triumphs he's endured as a skater, those years are obviously interpreted by Yuzu as being a cold and harsh time for him. No room for mistakes or you'll freeze to death, forgotten Origin - the shedding and burning of that past self and being reborn as someone free of earthly desires (having accomplished his main goals) Haru yo koi - a hope-filled look to the future-where once was unforgiving, hard ice has now melted leaving the beautiful sun and nature to shine he's for sure not gonna change his costumes

i think it's a new vid, at least taken after his name was added to the OLYMPIC CHAMPS plaque-if i believe hard enough i can see two similar looking blurs with a different looking blur separating them on it edit: oh also there's a second OLYMPIC CHAMPS plaque which should have Javi's name on it so this was definitely taken recently!!
