honestly the most beautiful move I saw the entire competition (including Yuzu's actual competition ) . I can still remember that moment, watching it on the live stream. I made this strangled-choking-half gasp-splutter noise and was like clawing at my laptop for my non-existent mouse to try to replay a live stream. and then promptly went crazy on the thread crying about how beautiful it was. Edit: also I'm stealing that for my signature.

I've always found it odd when certain commentators are like "So and so was undefeated during his time. Yuzuru is not. So he isn't GOAT" and I'm like... hmmm... I do see what you're saying, but also, on the flip side, isn't it even more impressive that he's managed to succeed when his competitors are all also really good? Its really just two ways of looking at it. Are they only going to acknowledge a GOAT as someone who dominates the field (regardless of how tough the field is), and wins everything and every competition? I can honestly see where they are coming from with that, and I do see how if they use that definition of "GOAT" then Yuzu certainly is not the GOAT. Or are they actually going to look at his skating to say he's the GOAT?

It's precisely because of that attitude that's he raised the level of the sport so high! And dragged everyone else along with him, kicking and screaming!

Is it odd that I don't have the same sense of "he's got two Olympic gold medals, everything else is extra " that most everyone else seems to be having? He's such a senior but for some reason I still get the "he's still improving, there's more he can show, he's not at his peak yet" feelings when I watch him on ice....

Its odd because there is every reason to expect Yuzu to have a difficult season. Post-injury, still recovering, probably doesn't have his full arsenal back, new system, three completely new programmes with who knows what difficulty level (LGC.....). BUT for some reason I'm still feeling this odd mixture of certainty that he's going to pull off a crazy amazing season, and trepidation at whats to come. And I keep swinging back and forth between the two extremes. I'm already dying just thinking about the season to come and its not even here yet!!

It's not that we didn't already know but every time I think of us finally seeing new programmes from him I feel like NXJFHWGSVDIEBSJ!!!

Someone remind me again. When is media day? It's like two weeks to August. He must have his full programmes by now right???

While I see where you're coming from, and its a good idea, we can't even get judges to follow the existing rules/bulletpoints when giving out GOEs.... I shudder to think what would happen if we put even more criteria in the tech score. Just more room to throw around..... But let's say we live in a perfect world and judges actually... you know.. judged.... it seems a bit subjective for a tech? Hence why it's currently SUPPOSED to be in PCS I think.

Wasn't JB the choreographer who mentioned how fun/amazing it was to choreograph for someone with such abilities where it's like "do this" and he does it!

No contest for me! It might be the most flawed technically of the choices, but that amazing burst of triumphant joy right before the SS in Olympic FS captured my heart forever!
