2026 will definitely be better, yes, especially as definitely no Zu then (seriously though, they will have more experience, etc) And I think so! which means even more pushing then....
-
He was born in late 2004 so he'll be 17 and eligible for 2022. Young, sure but if he continues as he is, and fixes some of his issues, I don't doubt Skate Canada will already be pushing. It's actually kind of curious, because if Brian can fix Orzel, and they all stay at TCC, including Zu, he'll have a group of really strong skaters in one place.
-
I'll disagree with both of those. Yuzuru doesn't need Boyang (or anyone) to motivate him. He's perfectly capable of finding his own motivations, and they're not in other skaters. While he has learned to ask for help, he is still very much a self-mover; he knows what he wants, he's incredibly focused and especially at this point in his career, he's after other things. He also doesn't need Boyang's Lz for any kind of help. He can see it whenever he likes after all, without Boyang being there. But Yuzuru is a person who analyzes jumps to their finest details, has a great jump coach right there, has a great coach, so really he'll be just fine. BTW While I don't think Yuzuru himself would mind Boyang being there, who might 'mind' is Brian and he has Orzel, Cha and Gogolev, all up and coming names, two of which are Canadian, along with Yuzuru who has decided to stay. They might very well mind, as all 3 of those are 2022 focused (if not 4, potentially).

Highly unlikely to be honest. I don't see Yuzuru changing his habits (or his personality) ie staying away from social media, apart from a photo or two. As for Boyang, based on what I've read, I think it is a summer thing, which was done by others before but will definitely benefit him. Even a limited time there should help him out, and he's got a track record on working on his overall skills so I am sure he'll use it to the fullest. I personally don't see any particular advantages for Yuzuru, if Boyang were to be at TCC.

Already announced that one - clicky I do like to wait for official retirements, but yes, Rippon is very likely done. I wonder about Ashley, as she worded her little announcement of a break differently in two different places, so we'll see.

2018/2019 Season Program Announcements

Ah @xeyra thank you, thank you, we're covered now and ready for the lolz. I just need the alcohol once it starts -
I actually thought he wouldn't, due to the leg plus having Ci but who knows now! It'd certainly be lovely to see a new EX ... and we'd get unexpected watering during the off season
-
Yes to all of that and I'm so sorry, sigh *hugs* Have a Zu to make you feel a bit better ... or alternately, knock you out but same thing.
-
Oh wow, now that's a surprise! I mean all right, not a total one but still, I was leaning towards him staying.
-
Ignore Hershy, he's really not worth it. I feel the need to say I'm so sorry (for the record, I would not complain terribly if he used a version with proper Latin)
-
He'll finally fulfill Brian's wish and do Carmina Burana! (or in other words, I keep joking about it so much that I'll jinx it into happening )
-
Well .... weeeeelllllllllllllllllll .... if it is Etude 2.0 .... weeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll ............. gimme. *hides*
-
Why so mean towards our planet? Tsk. Look how environmentally conscious Zu is, enlightened bb. Ommmm. (seriously though, I expect totally new things too, all 3)
-
No, he'll be doing some Senior Bs and Europeans so officially, he's not yet retiring. @ralucutzagy nothing official but I imagine so? @Rora1608 yes, considering how Worlds ended, I'd say it's a sure thing and I imagine we'll get an announcement soon.
-
Yes, like an off season prediction game! We were so spectacular -ly awful with the real thing that I just really really want to see what we'll come up with here Once the parade is done, we can have a go!
-
We'll leave that one to @xeyra *cough cough* Wut?
-
Oh! Right! Actually, I don't know if there's interest, but we could make this into a game, for the off season? I was thinking we could have a thread and everyone gets to guess - music (genre, plus specific) + who does the choreo for SP/FS/EX If anyone guesses the actual music +10000GOEs but mostly in the end we can just laugh at how off we were!

Welcome, welcome!! As for that, well unlikely because even with Yuzuru's abilities, it's going to take a while for that 4A, especially with his injury and who knows what else he wants or may want next. Plus I really do think that he meant more in the sense of how long it has already been, and everything that has happened, that it's just 'a bit more'. In any case, I think it's better to just get joy while we can and not think about it too much. It'll happen eventually at some point as that's just life, it's how it goes and we're lucky that he has been around for as long as he has. This is all a major bonus. He'll still be around even after, in shows, as a coach as skating is in his blood and he's not retired just yet. Plenty of stress for the good old nerves coming up in just a few months! Don't be crushed, there're so many things ahead of us!

2018/2019 Season Program Announcements

Nope, no way. It'll be well into the summer for quite a few. Think July at least, especially for the singles this time around, due to the new rules. -
I've been in this weird state since PC. A part of me is majorly ticked off by the brushing off of the whole thing with the usual, oh they have the next Olympics. It irritates me in the extreme because nobody knows what tomorrow holds and she has already had big injury problems. For them, 4 years is a long time to keep going. They also lost by a stupid margin. It's not that I am not happy for Aljona but that's just it. As a pair, I have always preferred S/H and I will forever claim that I think that as a pair, they're better. If that short program had been scored differently, and properly, regardless of the FS, they would have had gold. I am totally irrationally worried but I guess I can't help it so yes, I'm there with you.
-
Right, true. Also I haven't yet seen anything official about S/M but I know he's very keen on it, especially with his back so probably them too.
-
Now that should be much more fun and relaxing (also you made me laugh, ahaha, thanks)
-
*pats* it would not be so relatively quiet here if we were at that point! It's for everyone else as really, post Olympics we do get the most retirements, so might as well have a separate thread with info/talk and this place can remain for gen talk.

He's so cute he can pull anything off! I don't blame him, btw, at this point the poor sod probably just wants a break! He's a good sport for going along with it.

You have no idea how stressed I am over those two, for 2022 and we're still in the first half of 2018
