Since announcements are coming out and there're usually plenty of retirements post Olympic season, we thought we'd put all of the info into one thread, with a place to chat. Some of the names already known Elladj Balde Patrick Chan Dylan Moscovitch (Lubov hasn't decided) Alex Benoit Misha Ge Takahito Mura and others, please feel free to add any names. No news on Han Yan yet, guess we wait.

That is a face of a person who is going - why the heck am I being forced to do this thing - on the inside

I do think he is fighting windmills, without a doubt. One possible avenue for him would of course be accepting international students, and I am sure he will. If he achieves success with them, then that might help keep him afloat and in the public eye at least somewhat, which would help. But that is a very big if because it's not just about the skill of the coach (which is also untested yet) but also partially if you'll luck out in that one talented person to work with, who can have visible results, and of course, that person needs to be able to work with him. I'm glad he is doing the shows but that's a very limited reach, at least in Europe, outside of Russia. But that is more of a general problem that I don't think Javi alone can work on. He could perhaps try poking and prodding at ISU, coordinating that with Ari and all those folks who have already been trying for years but I'm skeptical. It may take a full generational change before something moves there, if then. As for Japan, I genuinely am not sure, we'd have to ask a Japanese member here but hmm, yes, I am not sure you're wrong. The money is there though he may be more reluctant to travel frequently so far, if he's really set his eyes on the coaching bit so what he has now, may be enough for him.

*packs bag* I could probably think of a few more things. I'll be sneaky. @Hydroblade now, now, whatever gave you that idea? be still my heart, what you must think of me.

You could make him do a 2A. An SE sandwich 2A. You could avenge Mura. I'd laugh forever. Talk about torture
-
It's why I demand to know what you will do with the said prisoner. What torture shall you inflict? (I may want to watch)
-
You're invading Are you taking prisoners? What ever shall you do with them?

3000! Thank you everyone for being here with us!

Unfortunately true but I do think he likes it as well. Though you know, I genuinely wonder if he can do anything. Usually it'd need someone coming right after him, at least a good Junior to keep the interest going but there's nobody there. He's got an uphill battle ahead of him.

Eeeeeh. So so. Anyone but Rohene at this point because I think he needs a change of style and Rohene is very distinctive. I would love to see something a tad different from the last two seasons especially. ____ In re to Shibs, skipping one season and returning ... well tbh, I am not optimistic.

Have some tea with me and don't think about it too much. La la la la la.
-
The top of the head is seriously creeping me out but I am not going to go into details because ... yeah, no. Better. I need tea. Oh good grief. Yes, yes, I remember that movie .... remember the teeth? Now all I see is Yuzu doll with that head and those teeth. Thanks. Tea!

You would need to resuscitate me. I've wanted him to change for so long! I really want to see Shae working with him but Jeffy may actually be even better, a bigger challenge. I'm kind of semi-worried we still haven't heard anything about a new coach though.
-
@Altie ah thank you! And I have a few more up my sleeve, been waiting for the off season when things grind to a halt to resurrect it. Not done yet

Nope, you don't need permission. Anyone could make a movie about his life as he doesn't as he cannot, own the rights to his own story. Most of these movies are really so-called "docudramas" and by definition, their purpose is to capture the "essence" of someone's life without necessarily filming all the actual events that took place. It's a dramatization of lives of real people (I'm talking about how HWeird sees it). There are several things they'd need to be careful of; rights of privacy (only goes away if the person is already gone), rights of publicity (this does count even if the person is dead) and torts of false light (and I think they require evidence of actual malice here) and defamation. If they can work with that, they're good to go, without Zu's permission.

He will probably just spill it all at the very last moment
-
Oh I don't count those as WTT doesn't have a cumulative score per skater, and Nationals are ... Nationals. Just ISU stuff. I meant, the 2014/15 fourth was the last time he was off podium, everything after that has been a 1-2 streak. Bad wording
-
He only has the one bronze, ever, in his Senior career. It's actually hilarious. It was the 2012 Worlds of course. I kind of like that being his only bronze, it is that significant. He was 4th after that though, post Sochi season.

It is, oops! I think he spoke of them when it was two though? Now he probably has PTSD with three

Somewhere Yuzuru is whimpering and staring at his two silvers on that wall.

I believe that actually may be my fault. I called it Nessie once to joke due to the whole Loch Ness monster, does it exist/sightings etc and oops?
